Rakhi Sawant has been absolved of the abetment of suicide charge by the police in a case where a man died after participating in her reality show, " Rakhi Ka Insaf".
The case was lodged against her and others on November 12 last year, after the mother of the youth, Laxman, claimed that he was humiliated on the show and died due to depression. "Rakhi publicly humiliated Laxman, shouted at him and termed him as impotent," she had said in the complaint. The police has stated that Laxman died of natural causes. However, Rakhi has now been charged with obscenity in a public place, defamation and insult intended to promote breach of peace, along with the director and producer of the show.
