Apparently, the Bollywood make-up artist chose Kareena Kapoor over Madhuri Dixit for a make-up session before an awards gala.
It was all about who would look like a million bucks. When it comes to putting their best face forward for the red carpet and the flashbulbs, actresses leave nothing behind. They demand and obtain what they want in the one-upmanship of the looks department.
Kareena Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit were both keen to have Bollywood make-up artist Mickey Contractor apply his deft strokes for the People's Choice Awards. The event was held on Saturday night at Film City. But Mickey could oblige only one and it was Saif Ali Khan's Begum who managed to have Mickey do her make-up.
Says an onlooker, "Mickey was heard talking about his dilemma in Gujarati about choosing Kareena over Madhuri. At events he prefers to do the make-up of only one actress. He is not keen to multi-task."
Adds the onlooker, "Everyone is aware of frayed nerves before a big event. Costumes and make up is one region where no one wants to rub any actress off. It often leads to hushed whispers that do the rounds of vanity vans."
Madhuri had recorded her dance performance a day earlier -- on Friday for the awards show. Mickey had done her make up for her act. So the actress assumed that he would also apply his magic tools on the following day as well for the red carpet and awards gala.
But as the onlooker states, "Madhuri was taken aback when she was told that Mickey would be doing Kareena's make up on the big day. She kept telling him that he could do hers as well as Kareena's make-up. But he preferred to stick to the newlywed Bebo."
He was apparently overheard saying that as Kareena had told him in advance that she wanted him on the awards day, it was a first come-first serve situation. While on the other hand Madhuri felt that as he had done his make up for her performacce a day earlier, he would do it for the main event as well. Mads had apparently fetched a lot of compliments for her make up on that day and wanted to do a repeat the next day as well. But Bebo certainly spoilt her flawless act on the red carpet.

Fashion faux pas: Bollywood divas too lazy to remove shoe labels?
Madhuri Dixit looked every inch a perfect diva at an event in Mumbai this Saturday. But for a ‘minor’ oversight — the sticker-label stuck on the bottom of her hopefully-new sandals.
Last month, actor Parineeti Chopra gave us a fancy photoshoot, with the shoe label sticking out again as a sore thumb. Stylists say that these celebs are not alone, as not
removing the price sticker from the bottom of the footwear is one of the most common fashion faux pas Indians commit.
“It is clearly one of the often neglected and most frequently committed fashion blunders in India. But when a celebrity makes it, it shows carelessness, not just on their part but also on that of the stylist responsible for their look,” says stylist Mahima Shukla.
“With brands like Christian Louboutin where the whole focus is on the red soles, these stickers can look really tacky,” she adds.
“Celebrities should be meticulous about small things and always double check their look before stepping out,” says stylist Vikram Seth. A possible reason could also be bad-quality stickers, points out stylist Nisha Khundnani.
“In India, brands pay little attention to the quality of stickers. They just don’t come off,” she says.
While Madhuri was not available for a comment on the faux pas that made it to the fashion blogs, her manager Rakesh ‘Rikku’ Nath had an interesting explanation to offer.
“Madhuri was wearing her old sandals that couldn’t have had the label. A sticker lying on the road must have got stuck to her sandal,” he says.

Madhuri in, Aishwarya out
Rumours flew thick on how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's refusal to greenlight Satte Pe Satta had forced the producers Ashtavinayak and Sanjay Dutt to push the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini film to 2012.
But there was a windfall for young director Soham Sha who got none other than Bollywood's dancing diva Madhuri Dixit to say yes to him. Says Soham, "I was always keen on Madhuri playing Hema Malini's role in my remake. However, I was hesitant to put the proposal forward wondering if she would accept it. Looks like someone up there was listening because Dhillin Mehta and Baba (Sanjay) who are co-producers sent Madhuri a message. I sent her the script and I was ecstatic when she agreed."
Sanjay is also happy that Madhuri, who he holds in high esteem as an actor, and one of the most professional artistes he has known, will be part of his second home production. Soham confirms that the film will go on floors in mid-June and will be completed in a 45-day continuous schedule.
"After this, we will have two songs remaining to be picturised which we will do when Madhuri returns." Dhillin Mehta says, "Honestly, the Sanjay-Madhuri pair has its own charm. We are delighted that we were able to get her to say yes to us. Sometimes things work out for the best. We are happy to announce this film on her birthday today."

Those olden days have vanished where hero and heroine represented as two beautiful red roses were rubbing against each other in order to make audiences understand a kissing scene. These days a kissing scene that is genuine and real is becoming a mandate and nothing is as sexy as compiling a list of top five kissing scenes from the grand movies of Bollywood.
1. Madhuri & Vinod Khanna
The number 1 kissing scene that was quite hot was shared compassionately by young and beautiful Madhuri and Vinod Khanna who was much senior looking in the movie `Dayawan'. It was truly sensual where Madhuri played the role of a prostitute and Vinod Khanna was a gangster who was newly coming up. `Dayawan' is still today remembered by many people for this kissing scene between the lead pairs which was considered as super sexy.
2. Karishma Kapoor and Aamir Khan
The number 2 kissing scene that was super hot was the one performed excellently by Karishma Kapoor and Aamir Khan in the movie `Raja Hindustani' which was one of the superhit movies of Bollywood. Aamir Khan is a perfectionist in all his features and even in this kissing scene, Aamir had shared an optimal chemistry with his lead heroine Karishma Kapoor.
3. Rani Mukherjee and Kamal Hassan
The number 3 enigmatic kissing scene amongst top five kissing scene of Bollywood is undoubtedly by greater actor as well as kisser Kamal Hassan. In movie `Hey! Ram' he kissed the magnificent Rani Mukherjee. This kissing scene was sensuous and cannot be forgotten by viewers. Kamal Hassan has tried to play intimate scenes with many top heroines of Bollywood cinema and the outcome has always proved to be an exotic for viewers.
4. Zeenat Aman and Shashi Kapoor
The number 4 kissing scene was the one that was shared by ravishing Zeenat Aman and ever charming actor of Indian Cinema, Shashi Kapoor. They shared a lovely lip lock in the movie that was truly sensational. It was inevitably a rocking kiss in the grand movie of Hindi cinema, `Satyam Shivam Sundaram'.
5. Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff
The number 5 kissing scene of Bollywood goes to sexy act which was elegantly performed by Madhuri Dixit and handsome looking Jackie Shroff. This kissing scene was performed in the movie `Vardi' which was an emotional one.
It is even quite interesting to explore few of the kissing scenes in the Bollywood cinema where it does not stand in the top five lists. This was a kissing scene shared by Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan in the movie `Salaam Namaste'. However, it may be because the kiss was quite urbanized to be listed in the top five kissing scenes of Bollywood. The other kissing scene is Indian cinema which could not be enlisted is the one shared by Bipasha Basu and her beau John Abraham in the film `Jism'. This kissing scene was also not much effective to be enlisted in the list of top 5 kisses of Indian cinema.
Emraan Hashmi though denoted as serial kisser but his kissing scene which he shared with Mallika Sherawat in many of their movies cannot be enlisted since it did not at all magnified a natural scene of kissing according to the critics.

Who will give 5 crore to Madhuri?
Madhuri Dixit wants Rs 5 crore for a film... the price commanded by reigning divas Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra
Antara Mali acted in a film called Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahati Hoon (2003). Now Madhuri seems to be saying Main Kat/Bebo/PC banna chahati hoon. Mads, on the wrong side of 40, has been demanding the same price as the current princesses of B-Town. Her last hit Devdas was eight years ago and let's not forget, it also starred Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan.
No doubt Mrs Nene is a huge name even today, she has a huge fan following, also there is a great deal of nostalgia attached to her name, but no filmmaker in his right mind will pay her so much. Another deterrent is that her comeback film Aaja Nachle (2007) had bombed.
It is learnt that the Ek Do Teen girl has quoted the fancy sum to at least four filmmakers who approached her with scripts and is in no mood to negotiate. Her manager Rikku confirms, "Yes, Madhuri has asked for five crores. We feel she is definitely worth the price she is quoting. She is a superstar with an enviable fan following even today. So, why shouldn't she ask for what she deserves? We are sure the filmmakers will gain from the fact that Madhuri Dixit is making a film with them."
However, the industry isn't reacting too kindly. Asks a trade analyst, "Who will give Madhuri five crores now? Though she does have the fan base, she isn't a top actress anymore. She has been out of the industry and the kind of roles she can do are limited. The roles that she has been approached to play are either sister or mother characters, which she is not too keen to play. She should learn from Amitabh Bachchan. A superstar, who still has roles specially written for him, isn't demanding that his pay cheque match that of Aamir, Salman, Akshay or SRK. Madhuri needs a reality check. In case someone has a particular script in which only she fits, perhaps she will get the high price."

Madhuri in Remo's musical
Madhuri Dixit and Remo D'Souza, co-judges of the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa are now taking their professional acquaintance a notch higher.
Reportedly, Dixit will feature in D'Souza's upcoming song and dance film. When contacted, D'Souza tells us, "It's my dream to direct a musical film, unlike the way we usually define a musical in our Hindi films.
It will be a Broadway styled musical with the characters expressing themselves through song and dance, instead of dialogues. I can't imagine making a musical without Madhuriji. According to me, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is one of the finest expressions of human aspirations in song and dance. That is the kind of musical I want to do with Madhuri."

Mom, you are a star!, Madhuri Dixit’s kids realize
‘They didn’t know, but they are kind of realising now
when they visited the sets of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ and saw everybody praising me and talking about me. They ask like, ‘Oh, so you are a big star in India’,’ Madhuri told IANS in an interview.
Madhuri lives in Denver, Colorado, with her husband Sriram Nene and two sons – Arin, 7, and Raayan, 5, and is in India as the judge of the fourth season of the show.
Madhuri became a national craze in the 1980s and the 90s with her scintillating performances in superhits like ‘Tezaab’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Tridev’, ‘Dil’, ‘Saajan’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and ‘Devdas’.
The actress took a sabbatical after 2002 and made a come back with ‘Aaja Nachle’ in 2007, but the film bombed at the box office.
The failure, however, didn’t affect the star aura surrounding her. She got a warm welcome by her fans and colleagues. Whether it’s award functions or other public events, Madhuri’s charm swept one and all.
The actress is touched after receiving such an overwhelming response from everyone and calls herself very fortunate.
‘It always feels wonderful. I feel blessed. There is not a single day when I don’t thank god that he has given me so much. I have received so much love from everyone wherever I have gone that I feel I am very fortunate and thank everyone for that,’ she said.
Her on-screen simplicity, acting prowess and elegant dancing style have made her an icon for many, especially youngsters.
So, how does it feel to be called an icon?
‘It feels really nice that people love you so much, they appreciate your work and consider you an icon. It’s always good to have compliments. It makes you feel nice. It makes your face glow,’ she said, flashing her evergreen smile.
She was recently honoured with a special award for completing 25 years in Bollywood at the 56th Idea Filmfare awards where she set the stage on fire with Shah Rukh Khan.
They danced together on hit songs like ‘Are re Are’ from ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Maar Daala’ from ‘Devdas’ and ‘Tere Naina’ from ‘My Name Is Khan’.
‘This was my first ever stage performance with Shah Rukh anywhere in the world and I really enjoyed working with him after such a long time,’ she said.
Both have previously worked in films like ‘Koyla’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’.
For those eagerly waiting for Madhuri’s return to the big screen will have to wait for some more time as she will be going back to the US to be with her kids and husband after ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’.
‘It was great to be back to work after I had taken time off to be with my kids. This is a nice change for me. I miss my kids very much; so I’ll be back (to the US) in a month,’ she said.
As for her next film Madhuri said, ‘I have been going through a lot of scripts, but nothing has been finalised as yet.’
She is currently in talks with Anil Kapoor to star in a Bollywood remake of Hollywood film ‘Freaky Friday’.

Madhuri Dixit wants to invite the three Khans to dinner
New Delhi, Feb 8 – Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit has revealed that she would like to invite all the three Khans – Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman – to dinner at her home someday.
‘I would love to invite Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman to come and have food over at my place. I know Shah Rukh would always praise my cooking, Aamir would give me advice on how the food could be a little better which would help me improve, and Salman would just say ‘where’s the food, give it to me quickly’,’ a jovial Madhuri told reporters here Monday evening. The actress was here to launch celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s new 24-hour food channel ‘Food Food’.
While it is often said that women are better cooks than men, Madhuri has no qualms in admitting that it is her husband Sreeram Nene who takes the cake when it comes to cooking at home.
‘He (Sreeram Nene) loves to cook. It’s a natural art. Like I have the affinity for dance, he has natural affinity for cooking. He is also a fast learner. He’s the one who aroused my interest in cooking and thanks to him I have become a good cook,’ she added.

Sonakshi Sinha has potential: Madhuri Dixit
Dancing diva Madhuri Dixit says among the current crop of female actors in Bollywood, she sees a lot of potential in ‘Dabangg’ actress Sonakshi Sinha.
‘I haven’t seen many new films, but I saw ‘Dabangg’ and I really feel Sonakshi Sinha has a lot of potential…her eyes are very pretty and she is quite expressive,’ Madhuri said.
‘Anushka Sharma is another good actress – she had some good scenes in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. In male actors, I think Ranbir Kapoor looks good. I’ve seen his films ‘Rocket Singh’, ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ and ‘Wake Up Sid’, I do think he is very good and natural,’ she added.

The Dancing Queen Madhuri Dixit
Known as Madhuri Dixit in the Bollywood film industry, her full name is Madhuri Shankar Dixit. She is one of the famous Bollywood actresses who made her acting debut in the late 1980’s. Born in an orthodox Marathi Brahmin family, she was one of the Bollywood heart throbs, who wooed audiences not only through her acting skills but also with her dancing skills. She is very often refereed to as the “dancing queen of Bollywood” and people are simply mesmerized by her dancing style. Through her entire acting career, which started in late 1980’s and continued till the late 1990’s, she won many awards and recognitions for her dance as well as her acting abilities.
Even though she started her acting in the film Abodh, in 1984 which was her debut film, she gained popularity after she did Tezaab in 1988. Tezaab is one such film, where one can see Madhuri’s dancing potential, which has been utilized to the maximum in later films. After this film, she acted in a number of films, most notable of them are Ram Lakhan, Tridev, Parinda and a host of other films. In fact it is in the film Tezaab, where the famous dance sequence for the song “ek do teen” created ripples in the heart of the audiences. This song was choreographed by the famous choreographer Saroj Khan and the popularity of the song reached such a stage, that it became almost a national anthem which was being sung by every one.
She is not only known as an actor but also as famous dancer, because she is a trained Kathak dancer too. In Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, her dancing is worth noticing, which was appreciated by many. In fact whenever we think of Madhuri Dixit, the first thing which strikes the mind is her dance sequence in different films, which became pretty famous.
Some of the famous film songs where her dancing was very much appreciated and she became a dancing diva after doing those wonderful performances are “ek do teen” from the film Tezaab, “dhak dhak” from the film Beta, “didi tera devar dewana” from the film Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and many such films. Her performance in Devdas, by famous director Sanjay Leela Bansali, in the year 2002 is also worth mentioning. In fact this film was also aired in Cannes Film Festival, where her performance was highly appreciated. It was again in 2007 where we saw the dancing diva’s return to her dancing as well as her acting career through the film “Aaja Nachle”.
After this film, even though Madhuri Dixit did not appear in any film, she did not dishearten her fans and audiences completely. She made a sudden appearance in one of the famous reality dance shows named Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, which is being aired in Sony Entertainment Television. The dancing diva is the judge for the session four of this dance reality show, along with others. So her fans need not be disheartened, because she will not only be judging this dance reality show but will also show her dancing skills to the audience and to her fans, who eagerly waits to see her dancing gracefully as before.

Shah Rukh Khan –Madhuri Dixit: To Set 56th Filmfare Awards Stage On Fire
Only few more hours to go before the fight for the beautiful black lady will be on in full throttle but something more is going to attract the audience this time at the 56th Filmfare Awards night. After almost a decade Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit will be teaming up for the audience. This time, however, it won’t be for the big screen but for the live audience present at the Filmfare Awards.
Madhuri has tweeted recently that she is having a great time rehearsing with SRK for their act on-stage and her tweet just revealed the excitement she has. Over the years Madhuri has always stated that Shah Rukh is his favorite co-stars. Also, recently the actress with the billion dollar smile preferred to cook for King Khan instead of any other Khans in spite of acting with Aamir and Salman too.
Shah Rukh on the other hand has maintained that he considers only Madhuri to be the Bollywood diva and no one else. Shah Rukh and Madhuri will perform to various numbers from the films that they have acted together and one just hope to see the famous “Chane Ke Khet Mein” number that is so much loved by SRK. So while Salman will be slogging it out with Shah Rukh in various award categories, already the SRK has taken the icing on the cake of the Filmfare Awards’ night. The coveted black lady of the industry will grace the homes of many actors, actresses, technicians, producers and directors tonight and it will be later telecast by Sony TV on 6th of Feb 2011.

I don’t regret failure of any film: Madhuri Dixit
Her last outing “Aaja Nachle” may have failed and she may be based in the US, but that’s not stopping Bollywood’s dancing diva Madhuri Dixit from being part of the evolving entertainment industry in India. Still flaunting flawless skin and an evergreen smile, she says she has no regrets over any film.
The 43-year-old is back in business with what she is best at – dance. She will be judging Sony TV’s reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa”, and says the failure of “Aaja Nachle” in 2007 didn’t deject her one bit.
“I don’t regret doing anything. When you work in a film, you do it thinking it will turn out well and will do well. But when it doesn’t do well, there’s nothing much you can do about it. So why should I regret anything?” said Madhuri, looking rosy cheeked in an orange and yellow sari.
A resident of Denver, Colorado, where she lives with her husband Sriram Nene and two sons – Arin, 7, and Raayan, 5 – she is out of touch with Bollywood but wants to be part of the changing face of Indian cinema by trying her hand at new genres.
“My choice of scripts will always be based on what appeals to me in a role. Of course, I will be looking for different kinds of roles. It’s tough to say which role I have liked in recent times…but, yes, very different kinds of films are being made these days and it would be great to know what’s out there for me,” Madhuri told IANS in an interview.
She is here for a few months to shoot the reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” which goes on air Dec 12, and plans to flip through scripts during her three-month stay in India, but can’t stay here too long.
“This (Bollywood) is not the only life. I have another life (in the US) and I really love it. I do miss India and my friends here. So it’s like having two homes. When I am here, I miss my husband and children. When I am there, I miss people here.
“I can’t stay long. I send my kids to school, prepare breakfast, shop for vegetables, drop them and pick them from school and all those things. I can do one film and then go, one show and then go, but I can’t take too much on me,” she said.
Madhuri became a formidable name in the film industry with superhits like “Tezaab”, “Ram Lakhan”, “Tridev”, “Dil”, “Saajan”, “Khalnayak”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun”, “Dil To Pagal Hai” and “Devdas”, and that too without a godfather.
Her dancing prowess, thanks to eight years of training in kathak, has wowed fans in songs like “Ek do teen”, “Humko aajkal hai”, “Dhak dhak”, “Choli ke peechhe”, “Chane ke khet mein”, “Didi tera devar deewana”, “Mera piya ghar aaya”, “Que sera sera” and “Maar daala”.
Even her sons appreciate her songs. “My elder son likes ‘Ek do teen’…he keeps singing it. They like songs from ‘Devdas’, ‘Aaja Nachle’. When I was coming here for ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, they were very excited and said – ‘Are we going to watch you on TV?’. And I was like, ‘Yes, you will.’”
Age has not touched her. She is fit as a fiddle and her grace, personality, smile and aura are as youthful as ever. With her kind of looks, no wonder most present day actresses don’t cringe before saying, “Main Madhuri Dixit banna chahti hoon”.
Madhuri blushed and humbly said: “Well, compliments always make you feel good. It’s not that I have come to this stage without doing anything. I have worked really hard to earn this recognition and when one works hard, it is nice to receive such compliments.”
What keeps her in shape?
“Well I do kathak back home. But it depends how much time I have…sometimes I devote an hour, sometimes half an hour. And it does help. Not only is it a physical exercise, it is beneficial spiritually. I like it so much. It makes me feel good, and I also do yoga,” she said.
