Sohail Khan in Dabangg 2?

Salman, Sohail and Arbaaz Khan

Buzz is that the third Khan sibling might join Salman and Arbaaz Khan in Dabangg sequel.

While Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan were seen together in Dabangg , chances are that the third Khan sibling might make his presence felt in the Dabangg sequel. While Arbaaz Khan, who produced Dabangg has already taken charge of the sequel as a director, there is buzz that the youngest Khan sibling has expressed his desire to be a part of the sequel as well.

It is a known fact that Salman Khan has been a big support to the career of both his brothers – Arbaaz and Sohail Khan. Sohail has often tagged along big brother Salman Khan in films like Veer, Heroes, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, God Tussi Great Ho and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya . Arbaaz had done that earlier in Garv and now with Dabangg . This time seems like it will be a complete family reunion if the trio come together in Dabangg 2 . And knowing how the success of Dabangg helped Arbaaz Khan resurrect his career, Dabangg 2 might additionally help Sohail Khan as well.

While Sohail Khan had directed Salman and Arbaaz in films like Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya and Hello Brother early in his career, if all goes well, Arbaaz will direct Salman and Sohail (along with himself, of course) in Dabangg 2 . However before that Salman has to work on Sohail Khan's Sher Khan .

Nevertheless, what the purported remake of Amar Akbar Anthony (that never took off) could not do, perhaps the sequel of Dabangg 2 would do.

Celebrity Cricket League ( CCL) excites Salman

After the ICC World Cup 2011 and IPL 2011, here comes the Celebrity Cricket League that promises to be bigger and better. With the biggest stars in the country taking on the field, sports has never been this glamourous. For the first time ever, four film fraternities — Tollywood, Kollywood, Sandalwood and Bollywood will play in a T-20 format in this star-studded Cricket League.

And it's all to promote a good cause. The initiative aims to raise awareness on piracy and ways to combat it. As per last year's statistics, the Indian entertainment industry lost over Rs 4,000 crore and 6,00,000 jobs due to piracy. Beginning June 4, in Bengaluru, the first edition of the CCL will unfold. The finals will be held in Hyderabad on June 12.

The league matches promise to be a starry affair all the way. The Telugu Warriors, led by Venkatesh has names like Vishnu, Tarun, Siddarth, Srikanth and Nitin, among others playing for it. Vishnu Manchu owns the team.

The Mumbai Heroes owned by Sohail Khan Entertainment, has Salman Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Harman Baweja, Aftab Shivdasani, Dino Morea, Kunal Khemu and Mahesh Manjrekar among others. The team will be captained by Suniel Shetty.

Chennai Rhinos, led by Suriya, boasts of names like Madhavan, Abbas, Vishal and others. The team is owned by Prasad MD of GVR Infra and Raja Rao Chairman Prathyusha Group.

Karnataka Bulldozers, led by Sudeep, is owned by Ashok Kheny, industrialist-cum-producer, who is the owner of Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE).

Genelia D'Souza, Sonakshi Sinha, Shriya Saran, Priyamani, Charmee, Taapsee, Samantha, Andrita and Ragini bring in the oomph factor to CCL.

"The idea was to combine two popular Indian religions, Bollywood and cricket, to produce great entertainment for the Indian audience. The film fraternities from South India and Bollywood will battle against each other for the cricket cup," says Sohail.

Word is out that Salman Khan will take his shirt off if his team wins. "I will be there to cheer for our boys. It will be as competitive as any other cricket tournament," he says.

All matches are covered on the Sahara network and tickets for the opening matches in Bengaluru have already been sold out. Sonu Nigam along with 1,200 folk dancers from Karnataka will be performing at the opening ceremony.

Bond between Sallu-YRF gets stronger. Is SRK listening?

Bond between Sallu-YRF gets stronger. Is SRK listening? Not only is Salman Khan working with Yash Raj Films, pehli baar in Ek Tha Tiger but he has also got closer to them, thanks to brother, Sohail

The bond between Salman Khan and the Yash Raj family, which was never so good, has suddenly gotten very strong, thanks to Sohail Khan.

The director-producer has been spending a lot of time with Aditya Chopra trying to work out dates for their respective films, Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger and his Sher Khan.

Apparently, both Sallu-starrers will be shot around the same time.

Collective efforts

Confirming these details Sallu's bro says, "Aditya Chopra's film (directed by Kabir Khan) will have a small shooting spell in July.

After that, there will be a long stretch from September onwards. That's when I start my shooting with Bhai (Salman) for my own film.

Adi and I have sat together and worked out the collective schedules of the two films so that there's no clash of dates."

Clash-less

Talking about the Chopra heir, Sohail says, "He's a really cool guy. So organised, it's a pleasure working with him. Not for a moment was there a clash of interest between my film and his.

"Bhai is working with Yashraj for the first time. And both the families (the Khans and Chopras) are equally enthusiastic about it."

Elaborating on the volume of work that Salman has taken on these days, the fillmaker says, "On the contrary, it's only now that Bhai is working with all the right banners.

It doesn't matter whether the film is produced by Arbaaz, me or Yashraj. Bhai will only do the work if he likes the script. He has a fantastic script sense."

Salman Khan to turn producer

The actor plans to start his production house and give the profits to his charitable trust Being Human.

He has been an actor for more than two decades. He was written a couple of scripts and also sung a couple of times. He is known to be an unofficial editor on films. But now, after all these years, Salman Khan seems to be taking the big step.

The actor seems to have plans of starting his own production house. Both his brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan have their individual production outfits. Even brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri has turned producer. Salman Khan has been instrumental in giving each of their careers a big boost with his starry presence in their films. However, not it seems that Salman Khan might use the privilege of his star power to his own benefit.

Though he has multiple projects on his hands including Sohail Khan's Ready and Sher Khan , Atul Agnihotri's Bodyguard , Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg 2 , Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick and Yash Raj's Ek Tha Tiger , he wishes to turn a producer soon. So the actor, who is known to be working only with friends and family when it comes to films, will now work for himself.

More importantly, he wishes to give the profits coming from his banner to his charitable trust Being Human. Like they say, charity begins at home!

Sohail over Arbaaz for Salman

Salman Khan, Sohail Khan

Salman was recently caught in a quandry having to choose between his filmmaker brothers Arbaaz and Sohail.

The actor, who was slated to work with Arbaaz on Dabangg 2 and with Sohail on Sher Khan, could accommodate only one of the two projects this year.

After some thought, Sallu has made his decision and it seems to be working in Sohail's favour.

Unfortunately, Arbaaz's Dabangg 2, which was to go on floors in January 2012, will be postponed to June as Salman and Sohail start filming Sher Khan by the end of this year.

When asked how Salman made his decision, a source told us, "Right now Salman has to start shooting for YRF's film, which will be directed by Kabir Khan.

His schedule is currently choc-a-bloc. Sher Khan has developed very well in terms of the script and so he is very excited to play the lead character."

Considering Arbaaz's Dabangg was a blockbuster, Sallu's decision to work with Sohail first came as a surprise. However, a source close to Salman quickly defended, "Well, that's the schedule for now."

Salman's decision not only affects Arbaaz but Sonakshi too, who has been very eager to get started on the sequel. We can only wonder how she will react.

Sohail to direct Partner 2?

After Arbaaz Khan taking charge of Dabangg sequel as a director, now Sohail Khan might direct the Partner sequel.

Recently Salman's brother Arbaaz Khan confirmed that he will be directing the sequel of Dabangg , one of Salman's biggest hits in recent times. And now, if sources in the trade circuit are to be believed, Salman's other brother Sohail Khan might be directing the sequel of another of his biggest hits in recent times – Partner .

Partner 2 has been in news for quite some time. Sanjay Dutt was said to be added to the cast. But if sources are to be believed, the scripts that David Dhawan had got in for the sequel did not interest Salman much. So probably Sohail Khan, who was the producer of the first part (like Arbaaz Khan was for Dabangg ) might take the directorial reins. It seems like Salman Khan is going out of his way to resurrect his brother's careers.

Before turning actor, Sohail Khan was a successful director and had made four films including Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Hello Brother, Auzaar and Maine Dil Tujhko Diya .
