She plays the character of a jealous actor in the film

 In Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz 3, Bipasha Basu plays a frustrated, jealous actress. The role is, apparently, inspired from none other than his ex-lover Amisha Patel.

Says Vikram, “Well, all I can say is, all art is finally cannibalised from one’s personal experiences. When I was with Amisha, both of us were going through a career low. I’ve seen how failure affects people.”

Vikram’s mentor Mahesh Bhatt, who is the producer of Raaz 3, admits to the similarity. “Vikram shared details of his tumultuous relationship with this Amisha.

Insecurities are an integral part of an actress’ life, as her shelf life is limited. We built on that idea to create Bipasha’s character in Raaz 3.” When asked whether the actress in Vikram’s life is Amisha, he replied in the affirmative. “We took the basic idea of the insecurities that creep up on an actress after a few years in the business, and then we built on her desperation. The film shows the character urging her director (Emraan Hashmi) into wrongdoings. In her desperation to cling to her stardom she begins to workship a satan and practices black magic on her younger rival.”

Do for die for Bips

Mahesh Bhatt says Bipasha in her own career has reached a do-or-die stage. “Younger girls have come into the industry and she has suffered a broken heart recently. Given the circumstances, she will either sink like a rock or fly like a bird.”

When we asked Amisha about her life being used to develop a character, she says, “Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I do not want to comment. I’ve too much on my plate with my own productions and the films that I’ve signed outside my production house. I would rather focus on them.”

Sunny Deol, Amisha Patel team up again after 'Gadar'

The mood on the sets of Neeraj Pathak's Bhaiyyaji Superhitt (BS) is upbeat. Amisha Patel and Sunny Deol are in their element. Contrary to rumours of the film being shelved, it is being shot at a brisk pace.



"Why give unnecessary importance to baseless rumours! The truth will speak for itself," Amisha says nonchalantly when asked where the rumours began in the first place. Amisha has just returned from a marathon schedule of Race-2 in Turkey.

"My plate is full with lot of good work. I am looking forward to Shortcut Romeo and Race-2. There's also Desi Magic and Paradise Street being made under my home banner. The first has me in a double role, a brainwave of my partner and good friend Kunal Goomer. He is working on the script and I am sure the film will surprise all. And, of course there is Bhaiyyaji Superhitt," she smiles.

Amisha further says, "Sunny and I will be different in this film as compared what you saw of us in Gadar. What makes our combo even more interesting here is Sunny's double role in the film. I am flirting with one but am actually in love with the other. We have not resorted to slapstick humour that is so typical of double roles in a film. It also shows our innocence and vulnerability and that works in our favour as a pair."

Of Sunny, Amisha says, "His shy nature is so endearing. That is what makes him the star that he is."

According to Sunny, BS has stood its ground despite facing rough weather. "Everybody wants the film not to be made. I don't know why. But let me tell you that my fans are going to enjoy watching me in a double role," he smiles.

Director Neeraj Pathak adds, "Sunny and I just laughed when we read that the film was shelved. Our schedules have started and we don't have to prove anything to anyone."

How Ameesha turned into a producer's delight from being a dud

Actress has five releases lined up in the coming 12 months and has to juggle her dates to complete them

Ameesha Patel is on a roll. The actress returned from Istanbul last week where she was shooting for Race 2. She was in Mumbai for five days for the shooting of Superhit Bhaiyyaji with her favourite co-star Sunny Deol.

It has been tough juggling the dates between her films as Ameesha had to return to Istanbul where she has to shoot till July 2. She then heads back for a huge show in Surat where she will be performing in front of thousands.

After her return from Turkey on July 2, she will immediately leave for Surat from Mumbai airport. Initially her shoot for Race 2 was to end on June 30 but the makers requested two more days.

Ameesha being a professional immediately went ahead and adjusted her dates since she values what a producer and director can go through, especially in films like these where there are so many stars.

The actress has always maintained from the beginning of her career that punctuality and humbleness is the key to long-term success.

Ameesha has five releases lined up in the coming 12 months. So much so that her production partner Kuunal Goomer has to wait for her dates till October for their project as her date diary is full!

Kuunal feels that Ameesha’s life can actually be an example to lots of people who give up in life and are not strong enough to face issues in life. For a while, Ameesha took her time to select the correct scripts that excited her.

Today when she’s mentally ready to experiment, different kind of roles that are coming her way. People are surprised that today Ameesha is back with lots of work in her kitty in such a big way and with so many releases lined up.

As they say people like writing you off but real talent always lasts. Kuunal also feels that it is Ameesha’s inner beauty that is the reason for all this success. 

When she’s on the sets, people actually feel she’s stepping out of the Humraaz set and entering the Race 2 set. These are the words that were said by director duo Abbas-Mustan to Ameesha on the very first day of the Race 2 shoot.

Meanwhile, Kuunal who has been working on a double role film for Ameesha is very close on script completion and two male heroes will be finalised. David Dhawan’s film Paradise Street is also in the planning. Ameesha is out to shock many in 2013.

Sunny Deol with whom she’s working after years had a great time on the sets of Bhaiyajji Superhit and felt that the chemistry of Gadar cannot be defeated.

Ameesha, who will shoot for her sunglass endorsement and then immediately back to Sunny’s film, is very happy with the way her career is shaping up. Ameesha always feels that in life, success or no success, being humble and being a producer’s actress is the key to a long-term career and that’s what makes Ameesha the actress she is today.

Close call for Ameesha: 'It shocked me like anything!

Ameesha Patel narrowly survived an accident during 'Shortcut Romeo' shoot but she's unfazed by the whole experience

Accidents while making a film is not uncommon. Sometimes it involves the crew member and sometimes, the stars themselves. Ameesha Patel was recently a part of one such happenstance.

 At the time of the reported accident, she was with Neil Nitin Mukesh in a high-rise building on the 30th floor shooting for her upcoming film Shortcut Romeo.

The action sequence they were shooting required height so the setting included lots of props including rods and planks.

Unfortunately, one of the planks snapped and crashed down. Before this occurred, both the actors were relaxing on the floor underneath. But as soon as they realised that it was no longer safe, they ran to safety.

Ameesha confirms, “Neil was fidgeting with my cellphone and we were just checking out our Twitter pages when this happened.

The plank fell just inches away from us and it shocked me like anything! But thanks to our quick reflexes, we both took to our heels and avoided the worse. We could have been injured but all we got was a terrible scare.”

She had been busy working with the actor for the past six months and now enjoys a good rapport with him. “Neil is a very friendly guy and fun to work with. He’s not only sweet and well-mannered but also a really good actor.”

On being asked about the character she plays in this particular film, Ameesha informed that it’s a wicked role and she’s enjoying every bit of it.

“I’m playing this bitchy, smart, manipulative woman who won’t take things lying down. It’s very different from what I’ve played until now. It was a challenge to play a negative role, in fact.”

The movie is a remake of a Tamil film and is directed by Susi Ganeshan. Ameesha compares the storyline of the movie with a chess game and reveals the plot is full of twists.

She is all praise for the South Indian director too. “He’s excellent at what he does. He’s very well-planned and doesn’t leave anything to chance. And when you’re working with someone like him, it brings a lot of confidence, ” adds the actress.

With an increasing number of reports that actor Amisha Patel was slowly getting away from signing Bollywood films and getting headlong into filmmaking, the actor has finally got a reason to cheer. Amisha has now signed a film with actor Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead which will be made by South Indian director Susi Ganeshan.

“Amisha has signed a film with South India director Susi Ganesan. He is remaking his film Thiruttu Payale (a hit in Tamil) in Hindi with Amisha and Neil in the lead,” says a statement on behalf of the actor.

Amisha too confirmed that she has signed the film and that she is looking forward to start shooting for the film. “I am very happy to do such a thrilling film. Very excited to do a film of this genre again. It’s a very intelligent script and a step forward from the same genre of suspense thrillers that I have been part of before,” says Amisha.

“The film is a suspense thriller with an under tone of romance. It’s actually a cat and mouse chase between the two protagonists. The film was a major hit in the south doing and has done a business of over 60 crores (considered a super hit business figure for the South industry). The Hindi film is called Short Cut Romeo,” says a source.

According to sources close to the actor, Amisha decided to sign the movie because for the past few years, south remakes in Bollywood have done major business and Amisha wanted to cash in on the popularity wave of south Indian films.

“For the last two years, mostly remakes of South Indian films are being made into Hindi and are doing tremendous business... Wanted, Dabangg, Bodyguard, etc and Amisha wanted to take advantage of this wave. She has seen the original version of the movie and liked it a lot. 

The advantage with south remakes is that, you already have a superhit film in your hands, all you need to do is that tweak it to fit Bollywood sensibilities in such a way that it becomes even more appealing,” the source adds.

Ameesha to take Vikram on board?

Emotions have no role in Ameesha Patel's professional life. And making this point clear, she says, "The first director on board my production house was David Dhawan but I would really like to appoint Vikram Bhatt too.

His films are absolutely paisa vasool. And I've heard of how well Haunted did. So, Vikram, why not?"
Incidentally, Vikram Bhatt too is fine with the idea. While the two were lovers at one time, they split bitterly but looks like the animosity is on the decline between them. And the salt-pepper haired filmmaker claims to be happy about Ameesha's aspirations. "I make movies for strangers, so why wouldn't I make it for a dear friend like Ameesha? But then, I also have my own company and have commitments. Filmmaking is such an expensive proposition these days, that working with someone you've known in the past can't be an emotional whim."

In the same vein, he adds, "But if Ameesha does extend an Invitation to join her company. I would certainly like to. I've got no reason to reject it."

Ameesha Patel who debuted in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (2000) is now turning producer. Even in Hollywood, more and more actresses are turning to production.

Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz, Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock, and Katherine Heigl to name a few. After acting for over a decade, the Patel girl is launching her production company — Ameesha Patel Productions along with her best friend Kuunal Goomer. The pink (her favourite colour) invites were sent out with a bottle of champagne to the who's who of the film industry. The final production plans will be disclosed by her post the gala launch. We hear that she is already in the middle of hiring a team of promising and accomplished directors under her banner. Declares Ameesha Patel about the Dutts, making pointed retorts at Kangna Ranaut by saying "co-stars come and go"

Dutt loyalists Kangna Ranaut and Ameesha Patel haven't exactly seen eye-to-eye for quite some time now.

As reported 'Kangs edges Ameesha out' (Hitlist, February 16), Kangna was proving to be more closer to Sanjay and Maanayata than the Patel girl.

Says a source, "Ameesha has been fuming ever since. This happened because Patel was absent at a couple of the Dutts' events. Almost immediately, there was buzz of a fallout."

The Patel gal was out of Mumabi for a show when the the buzz reached here. An upset Manaayata called her pal immediately. Ameesha was shocked as she had always been cordial to Kangs when they met."

Adds the source, "Ameesha has decided she has had enough. If she meets Kangna at a social event, she has decided to snub her. Patel feels Ranaut is behind this.

She has no issues with Kangna but won't allow her name and friendship with the Dutts to be tarnished at any cost."

The source continues, "Films have never mattered to Ameesha more than relationships, so to be accused of getting upset for losing films to Kangna, implied that she had got close to the Dutts to enhance her career. That is far from the truth.

After her split with Kanav Puri, Ameesha Patel has been lately spotted in the company of a guy called Kunal.

The businessman has been stepping out with her at events and bashes. Shutterbugs have been merrily clicking the duo. And B-Town's razor-sharp tongues have begun wagging. Buzz is that he is producing a film for her.

The actress has been spotted with him at Shilpa Shetty's bash. He even accompanied her to Dubai for the New Year celebrations.

They were together at Imran Khan's wedding reception too. Initially many mistook him to be her ex flame Kanav Puri as there is some resemblance.

Interestingly, Kunal is married! Sometimes his wife Shaalu even accompanies him and Ameesha to parties. Says a source, "She has known Kunal for a long time.

But when she was linked with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and later with London-based Kanav, he did not accompany her to bashes. He remained a close friend. But after her break-ups, she has found a shoulder to lean on.

He has always been around for her and has been a source of immense support especially when she was estranged from her parents (Asha and Amit Patel) and brother (Ashmit Patel). Even after her patch-up with her folks, she is still close to Kunal."

Adds the source, "Years ago, Kunal too had harboured acting aspirations and there was buzz that he was to be launched in a movie. He has been part of Ameesha's circle for almost a decade.

Now that she has had her share of heartbreaks, she has turned to him. It appears that he is besotted with her."

Ameesha however says, "Let the speculation continue. I can't be bothered to clarify being seen by my best friend of nine years because people keep mistaking him for Kanav Puri."

Vivek Oberoi to perform at National Games

Ranchi, Feb 12 – The 34th National Games will open here Saturday evening with Bollywood stars Vivek Oberoi, Amisha Patel and Sameera Reddy performing for the 33,000-strong audience. 

Jharkhand’s ace archer Deepika Kumari will light the Games’ flame, to be followed by a march past by the participating teams. 

Shweta Tiwari, winner of reality show ‘Big Boss 4′, will anchor the show while singer Sukhwinder Singh will croon his way with popular songs. 

A film on polio eradication is to be played at the opening ceremony. It is to be followed by a ‘polio walk’ — by volunteers sporting T-shirts with polio eradication message.

The three-hour extravaganza will also see performances by school children, a ‘Bihu’ dance by local tribal artistes and a fire dance by local artistes. There will also be a dazzling display of fireworks.

Jharkhand Governor M.O.H. Farook will formally inaugurate the Games in the presence of Chief Minister Arjun Munda and Toursim Minister Subodh Kant Sahay.

The sporting events will begin Sunday. Besides Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur will also host many events.

Ameesha to perform at National Games

Ameesha's all set to groove to her dance numbers for the National Games opening ceremony on Saturday.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif graced the National Games opening ceremony last year, this time it's Ameehsa Patel's chance to sway the audience as she performs at the opening ceremony of the 34th National Games.

She confirms, "Yes, I am performing at the opening ceremony of the National Games being held next Saturday. It's an honor." Busy rehearsing her best dance numbers Ameesha has postponed her other commitments.

Besides Ameesha, actor Vivek Oberoi and singer Sukhwinder Singh will also perform at the event, while television actress Shweta Tiwari will be the anchor for the evening.

However, for the closing ceremony, there are speculations that Katrina Kaif and singer Shaan will rock the scene. We'll keep you updated on that one.

The pretty actress admits that she is in her best shape ever. "I'm sexier than ever right now and I can feel it. During Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (the 2008 film in which she wore a yellow bikini and seduced Saif Ali Khan underwater) I was in good shape. But I wanted to better the standard that I had already set on screen. I followed a healthy diet chart and worked out regularly. I didn't kill myself exercising and I don't believe in dieting. One has to eat right and healthy," she says.

Just before she struck a pose in her ganjee and shorts, Amisha said, "It's this sexy girl-next-door look that I have. I'm not in your face obvious. It's a look that a friend of mine came up with especially for me when I went to a party wearing a pair of shorts and a tee."

While many B-town divas have an international body type, which is the size-zero, Amisha says, "I don't believe in size zero. I believe in having curves. A man's body is different from a woman's and women should have curves. That's hot! A woman shouldn't be thin as a stick and look like a clothes hanger. I have always worked out appropriately, so that I have a curvaceous body and thankfully I'm very happy with the body I have. When you look good, you feel happy and I'm in that space at the moment."

Amisha has Run Bhola Run and Chatur Singh Two Star releasing soon and she is enjoying the compliments that she has been receiving. "I have worked a lot on myself and it feels good when people notice it," she says.

An email is being circulated around Bollywood that has become a bit of a headache for hot beauty Ameesha Patel.

Ameesha has taken the email as a joke, “Kanav and me were highly entertained by the article. It livened up a really dull day! This whole gay thing is hilarious! Trust me, Kanav is not gay. I should know. We are intrigued that someone is so obsessed with us, knows things about both us that even we don’t no. It was very entertaining. “

Ameesha says, "The e-mail girl seems to know more than me. Vikram’s a sweet chap and a good friend. I had bought the 4BHK penthouse five years ago when I was dating Vikram. In fact, Vikram’s mom had arranged for the Pandit who did the griha- pravesh for the flat. It is me and only me who supports myself. Whatever I own today is through my hard work. By God’s grace, I have the ability to and have always been financially independent. Vikram has never given me expensive gifts. But my other friends and he emotionally supported me when I didn’t have a dime to my name. I don’t need anybody to support myself. Anyways this is all too petty to even discuss."

The e-mail further states, "Ameesha Patel dumped poor Vikram Bhatt after he supported her for three years. Her parents had emptied her bank accounts and left her without anything. Vikram gave her shelter, care, food, understanding, expensive gifts, diamonds and exquisite holidays abroad, taking her out to various restaurants and protection and that is what he got in return. When Ameesha’s professional life and personal too with Vikram was on track, she bought a 4BHK penthouse and another 2 BHK house, one in Hyderabad too and all the frills that go with it."

The last allegation made in the e-mail says, "Wonder how you guys have not dug out any info about his past and the fact that he was seeing one Priya Sachdev Chatwal who is now married to Vikram Chatwal?"

Ameesha responds, "If Kanav was dating Priya, big deal! I knew that. Even I was seeing Vikram at some point. Kanav and I have always been honest in our relationships, including our past ones and don’t see any reason to hide them."
