Bollywod Insider: Katrina Kaif follows a strict diet for Dhoom 3

Gorgeous Katrina Kaif seems to have all geared up to entertain her followers in Dhoom 3. Why not to follow a perfect diet when Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood is a part of the film.

Katrina is following a strict diet to be fit for the film. She is working out and also special care of her diet. The Barbie doll is taking special training in martial arts and parkour. She also keeps a check on the kind of food she eats.

Of course, comparisons with Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are bound to happen. So, it seems that the pretty lady is not leaving any stone unturned to look fit for her role.

Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif Awarded The ‘International Icons Of 2012′

Mumbai: The Zee Cine Awards 2013 was a night full of glamour, when Bollywood’s biggest stars descended down to dazzle us with their radiance. Amongst them, shone bright, the King of Hearts – worldwide – Shah Rukh Khan and his recent leading lady Katrina Kaif.
At the Zee Cine Awards 2013, Shah Rukh Khan walked away with the award of the ‘International Icon (Male)’ and Katrina Kaif took home the female equivalent of the award – International Icon (Female)
Not surprisingly, Shah Rukh Khan walked away with the award of the ‘International Icon (Male)’. We are sure his fans across the globe, Morocco and Jakarta included (where he recently visited) must be rejoicing. Shah Rukh Khan received the award from director Boney Kapoor and his wife and actress Sridevi. SRK, who must’ve had to dedicate a room in his house for all the awards he’s gathered in a lifetime, was his humble and witty self throughout the evening.

Shah Rukh’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ co star- the gorgeous British Indian beauty Katrina Kaif, who has recently garnered a huge fan following globally thanks to her killer dance moves, took home the female equivalent of the award – International Icon (Female). The award was handed over to her by Bollywood actor Zayed Khan and internationally known choreographer Shiamak Davar.

This year has been great for Katrina, who has walked away with quite a few of the awards in 2012. She had recently bagged the ’Favorite Actress’ Award at the People’s Choice Awards for her performance in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, the ‘Best Actress in Action Role’ at the Big Star Entertainment Awards again  for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, the ‘Best Entertainer of the Year 2012′ at the Hello! Hall Of Fame Awards and finally the ‘Most Profitable Actor’ (Female) at ETC Awards.

Interestingly, together Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif were recently awarded the ‘Best Romantic Couple’ at the Big Star Entertainment Awards. The now crowned ‘International icons’ also offered a tribute to the late film-maker Yash Chopra with a beautiful medley of his songs.

Other winners of the night were Ranbir Kapoor who took home the most coveted ‘Best Actor (Critics)’ award for simply being ‘Barfi!’, Salman Khan won ‘Best Actor (Popular)’ award for his much loved ‘Dabangg 2′ , Priyanka Chopra bagged the ‘Best Actress (Popular) award’ for her rendition of ‘Jhilmil’ in Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi!’, Vidya Balan won the ‘Best Actress (Critics)’ award for performance in ‘Kahaani’ and finally Anushka Sharma not too far behind with the ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’ for ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan.’

Katrina Kaif gets rave reviews for JAB TAK HAI JAAN

Holding her own in Yash Chopra's JAB TAK HAI JAAN, Katrina Kaif walked away with stellar reviews for the film that went on to garner the highest ever business for any film released on Laxmi puja day, with a domestic collection of approximately 50 crores within its first 3 days.

If that wasn't all, the film also made a killing at the overseas box office, grossing over 3.5 million USD in just 3 days.

Says Katrina Kaif, " I'm really happy that the film is doing well and that the audiences have embraced it the way they have."

Proving yet again she's the darling of the masses, Katrina Kaif who was a lead in yet another landmark film, received praise from audiences and critics alike, playing the quintessential Yash Chopra heroine.

Says acclaimed critic and trade analyst, "Katrina is the classic Yash Chopra heroine. An enigmatic beauty, who doubles up as a seductress [watch her in the 'Saans' track or the music piece]. She looks ethereal and enacts her part with elegance and restraint. As a matter of fact, she glides into her part with effortlessness and acts out some of the difficult moments with flourish. Katrina is an integral part of this story and it must be said that she walks away with some of the best scenes and lines in the movie. Her performance is full of grit."

Adds a trade analyst, "Katrina Kaif deserves kudos for a job wonderfully done. Whether it is her scenes in conversation with God or her inhibitedness before she finally opens up or whether when she surrenders before God or when she re-enters Samar's life, Katrina is so totally immersed into her character that it would seem, she was born to play Meera in this film."

With a success ratio that very few actresses in the industry enjoy with blockbusters like PATNER, WEL COME, SINGH IS KINNG , NEW YORK, RAJNEETI, AJAB PREM Ki GHAZAB KAHANI, ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA, EK THA TIGER and the recent JAB TAK HAI JAAN , Katrina Kaif will next be seen in Yash Raj's DHOOM 3 and Fox Star Studios' Bollywood remake of the 2010 James Mangold action-comedy -KNIGHT AND DAY.

Box Office Report: 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' earns Rs 35 cr, 'Son of Sardaar' gathers Rs 27 cr in two days

New Delhi: Now, when the box office figures have started to pour in, both 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' and 'Son of Sardaar' are emerging as the winners. Ajay Devgn starrer 'Son of Sardaar' might have earned less than 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' but that is due to the lesser number of screens made available to the film, however the total amount gathered by 'SOS' matches up to the expectations.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweets, "#JTHJ [India] Tue 15.23 cr, Wed 19.54 cr. Total: 34.77 cr nett. FANTASTIC."

He also tweets about the money fetched by 'Son of Sardaar' at the ticket window, "#SOS [India] Tue 10.72 cr, Wed 16.21 cr. Total: 26.93 cr nett. SUPERB."
Both the films opened to mixed reviews and Diwali fetched them initial footfalls but now the content will decide the fate of these films at the box office.

These highly publicized films may cross the Rs 100 crore mark but they would probably not find a place in the list of the best films of 2012 as they are not equally acceptable in all quarters of India.

After taking India by storm, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ to release in Pakistan

Mumbai: Yash Chopra’s swan song, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, that released in India on November 13, 2012, has been lapped up critics and audiences alike. The romantic story starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles, has had a grand opening and will now be shown in Pakistan too.

Pakistani fans of Yash Chopra and the actors have been waiting expectantly for the film to release ever since they’d learnt of the same. Finally, on November 16, 2012, the wait is set to end. ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ is being distributed in the neighbouring country by IMGC Global and the chairman of the same will be holding a special screening of the film. Sheikh Amjad Rasheed, Chairman, IMGC Global, had friendly ties with the late filmmaker.

The special screening, arranged in order to pay a huge tribute to Yash Chopra, has been slated for November 15 at The Atrium, Karachi.

Movie Review : ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ Only on Bollywood Insider

That man taught a country of a billion the art of loving. Those subtle, nuanced, romantic sweet nothings that were engendered from the brain of that man, have always had a way with people – no matter how much they would want themselves to be impervious to that emotion called love. Yash Chopra, you made sure that you will live on and that your last film will be remembered - jab tak hai jaan!

The King of Romance behind the camera directing the Badshah of Romance in front of the camera. And a script that boasts of solid, undying love. No, there cannot be a better way to portray love on the silver screen. ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ has nailed that – at least for the immediate future. Shah Rukh Khan, you don’t really need words of praise or adulation; but go ahead and take a bow! With Samar Anand, the actor has brought another Raj Malhotra alive on screen. And a newer, better, improved version at that. One who doesn’t know how not to love; one who instills in every heart the hope to be able to love – love unconditionally, love that doesn’t know its limitations. Sounds like I’m just out of a Yash Chopra movie? Yes, this had to be the one.

Major Samar Anand, stationed with the Bomb Defusing Squad of the Indian Army is a man who flirts with death at every step of his life. He has successfully cut short the lives of ninety-seven bombs and is on his ninety-eighth one when the film begins. Wolf-whistle from all corners of the theatre greets the stubbled, sunglasses-clad man in uniform; oh yes, and a lot of claps too.

Akira Rai (Anushka Sharma) is a twenty-one year old intern; a state-level swimmer, national-level tennis player etc. (pardon me if the order is wrong – this girl has a long list of accolades behind her name!), and is dying to get placed with the Discovery Channel. The girl dives headlong into the freezing cold waters of a crystal-blue lake with Major Anand sitting on the banks. She passes out in the water and a nonchalant Samar saves her, makes her wear his jacket and rides off on his Royal Enfield. Once in the room, off falls Samar Anand’s diary from one of the pockets of his jacket; on to Akira’s hands and the girl is transported back in time into the life of a twenty-five year old Samar.

Samar there, loves Meera (Katrina Kaif). A girl who detests ‘brown, boring’ Indians and dreams that someday she’ll be married off to some gora. Fate, however, has other plans for her; and by a complicated turn of events that involves Meera learning music from Samar, both fall in love with each other. Hitch: Meera’s already had her “arrangement” – engagement, in Samar’s words. A series of promises to Jesus; some broken ones, some unbroken ones included; Samar goes off to the Indian Army. A tale of love; and love in its purest, most unadulterated form, ensues.

Speaking about Shah Rukh’s performance is nothing short of belittling the consummate actor’s skills. If as Raj Malhotra he had managed to woo half the population of the country; as Samar Anand, this man can make many more smitten by him. The slight stutter, the little hint of a tear in the eyes, the arms-outstretched pose – Khan knows how to make his ladies fall for him – be it that they are almost half his age! Katrina Kaif as the NRI Meera does a pretty good job of playing the girl who is torn between loves and promises; and her accented Hindi passes off as acceptable. Anushka Sharma acts well; however, she does dwindle to the extra-carefree attitude that she has been able to put her signature on in the last few films. But Shah Rukh, yes. He is, indeed, the man to watch out for.

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh in an extended cameo make for a pleasant watch; and the scene where Neetu Singh meets Katrina is exceptionally moving. Anupam Kher as Meera’s dad doesn’t really have a lot to do.

Cut to direction. Only somebody like Yash Chopra could have made those mesmerising locales of Pehalgam and Ladakh come alive on celluloid. London, on the other hand, is beautiful – be it in winter, rain or summer. The film doesn’t really have the sarees flying slo-mo in the air, but what it has is sheer, pristine beauty. However, the film appears a tad too long; at almost three hours, the ‘impatient, newer generation’ might have to stretch themselves a bit.

AR Rahman’s music in the film somewhere seems underused. The songs ‘Challa’, ‘Ishq Shava’ and ‘Saans Mein’ are a delight to the ears. The Master Musician’s ‘Heer’ is a beautiful song. The numbers are hummable, and nice ones; but just that. They aren’t exactly exceptional. We’ve had better specimens from Rahman in the past, and will sure have better ones in the future.

In case you still haven’t, go watch ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. You can thank the Kings of Romance once you’re done with the film… nahi bhoolenge hum, jab tak hai jaan!

What Katrina Kaif likes about Shah Rukh Khan

"Gentlemanly behaviour" may be outdated, but Shah Rukh Khan's chivalry is "nice to see", says Katrina Kaif.
"He is very gentlemanly. He will always open the door for you. If you come in, he'll stand up and he always pays attention to the small things," Katrina, 28, told reporters Monday at a promotional event of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ), in which she has teamed up with the superstar.

"When we were shooting the song Ishq Shava (for JTHJ), it was freezing cold. As soon as it was called cut, he would make sure I had a blanket. You don't see that a lot these days. Gentlemanly behaviour has gone out of fashion, so it's nice to see it," she added.

However, Katrina is sad that the Switzerland song planned by late Yash Chopra for Jab Tak Hai Jaan could not be shot and reveals 12 saris were readied for it.

"Personally, I think it was a little bit sad, it was a little bit emotional for us that we didn't get to do it. Yashji (Chopra) kept on coming up to me and saying that it's not going to be a shoot, it's going to be a party, we are not working," she said.

Plans to shoot the song have been cancelled after Yash Chopra's death. He died of multi-organ failure on October 21.

"We had actually done the entire costume fittings, there were 12 saris which Manish (Malhotra) had made, and Yashji saw each one of them. He had also planned a sequence in the water (in freezing cold) and we were laughing about it. He said now we will just go to Switzerland and party," said the actress.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan also stars Anushka Sharma and will hit theatres on Diwali.

Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra are my seniors: Katrina Kaif

Mumbai: Katrina Kaif today is no longer just a pretty face. She has proved her acting calibre in Rajneeti and now, Ek Tha Tiger. With ETT crossing the 100 crore mark at the Box Office, Kat is now one of the most bankable stars in the industry. But, when compared with her contemporaries like Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, Katrina feels that they are way too ahead of her.

Katrina Kaif has so far acted in male oriented movies, where the heroine's role comes second after the male lead. But, her contemporaries like Kareena, Priyanka and Vidya Balan, have already made a stable position in the industry by choosing women oriented scripts. Talking to a leading website about the same, Katrina said, "Kareena and Priyanka are senior to me. They are way ahead of me."

She further said that if a script excites her, she agrees to the deal. Talking about the 100 crore craze in the recent times, Katrina said, " I am happy to see the business of cinema flourishing, films minting money. Yes, hits are important but somewhere your work has to be liked also."

Relaxo signs Katrina Kaif as brand ambassador

Footwear maker Relaxo Footwear today said it has roped in Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif as brand ambassador for its Flite brand. As part of a two year contract, Kaif will endorse the Flite brand that is mainly targetting young consumers. Relaxo Footwear Executive Director Gaurav Dua said the Flite is being positioned as a brand symbolic to youth, comfort and elegance.

"And to carry this brand persona a step ahead, we could think of no one better than Katrina Kaif," he said in a statement.

Katrina will feature in TV commercial endorsing the Flite footwear which would be aired soon, the company added.

As per the company's website, the company manufactures over three lakh pairs of footwear per day at the nine manufacturing units in North India.

In 2011-12, its annual turnover stood at Rs. 870 crore. its other brands include Sparx, Schoolmate, Elena, Casualz, Mary Jane and Boston.

From Katrina Kaif to Arjun Kapoor, many Bollywood stars made their presence felt at Salman Khan's Eid party at his residence.

Dhoom 3: Katrina Kaif chooses Shah Rukh Khan over Aamir Khan

Bollywood Actor Katrina Kaif is torn between the starry demands of Bollywood's two superstars. While Aamir Khan is waiting for Katrina in Chicago to practice his stunts for Dhoom 3 with her, Shah Rukh Khan, who is shooting Yash Chopra's untitled project in Ladakh, wants Katrina with him to shoot some 'complex scenes'.

Katrina, we hear, was supposed to shoot for two weeks with Shah Rukh in Ladakh and then head to Chicago to join Aamir Khan for two weeks. Being the absolute perfectionist when it comes to his craft, Aamir wanted the gorgeous actor with him in the American city to perfect their stunts and to be in sync with each other. Unfortunately, on SRK's insistence, Katrina now needs to stay in Ladakh for few more days.

Apparently, Shah Rukh has some solo scenes to shoot and Katrina's presence is not required, yet SRK feels he will be able to focus better for the complicated scenes if Katrina is by his side.

It is certainly Aamir Khan's loss. According to the original plan, we are told, Aamir wanted to practice some important sequences with Katrina. This would have given the two actors enough time and scope to warm up to each and behaving naturally onscreen.

But now when Katrina heads to Chicago, she might have to face the camera straightaway, without rehearsals.

Now this episode might spur yet another controversy about the battle between the two Khans, and in all probability one can easily blame SRK for holding Kat back in Ladakh. But we think Aamir is equally responsible for not having enough time to rehearse his scenes with Katrina. Remember, it was he who postponed the shoot of Dhoom 3 due to his other commitments.

But we are sure that the Perfectionist Khan will make up for the loss by giving his best and by drawing a superlative performance out of Kat when she joins him. Right, Aamir?

‘Ek Tha Tiger’ makes Rs 100 crores in just 5 days!

Mumbai: This was expected. Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has created a new record of sorts by earning the much ‘acclaimed’ Rs 100 crores the fastest. The film, which beat ‘Agneepath’ and had the biggest opening-Rs 32 crores on its first day of release has made to the elite 100 crore club in just 5 days!

Trade analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#EkThaTiger - India *actuals* Sun 23.06 cr. Total: 100.16 cr nett. SUPERB. Fastest 100 cr grosser ever - 5 days [Hindi films]. NEW RECORD!(sic)”

Salman’s sister, Arpita Khan happily tweeted the numbers. “Total 100.16 C in 5 days.. And the TIGER ROARS! Tiger Tiger Tiger.(sic)"

Produced by the Yash Raj banner and directed by Kabir Khan, ETT was in news also for its pairing as it was the first film that Salman and Katrina signed post their break up in 2010.

Expectations were also high from the film as three of Salman’s previous films-‘Dabangg’, ‘Ready’ and Bodyguard’, were declared blockbusters.
Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#EkThaTiger is @BeingSalmanKhan `s 4th century [100 cr], the other three being #Dabangg [147 cr], #Ready [122 cr] and #Bodyguard [148 cr].(sic)”

Incidentally, ETT is Yash Raj’s first film to get into the 100 crore club, Adarsh added. And now, trade pundits and hoping that ETT breaks the record of ’3 Idiots’ which had grossed more than 200 crores at the Box Office.

Salman, who has been having Eid releases for the past few years, had ensured that ETT gets released on Eid this year. While the collections continue to increase every day, one thing is for sure, that Salman has cemented his place in the industry and can easily be called the undisputed king of Bollywood.

Ek Tha Tiger Review – Eid feasting for Salman fans!

Thanks to the super hype and hullabaloo surrounding Ek Tha Tiger, I along with few of my friends went to watch the Salman-Katrina starrer film, produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Kabir Khan. ETT is also Salman's first film with Yash Raj Films. Music is by Sohail Sen and has a guest composition by Sajid-Wajid.

There is no doubt that Sallu makes a 'cool' entry. All 'bhais' will definitely love the way Salman Khan enters (kicking a person's face and cigarettes flying). First part is slow but definitely you will enjoy Katrina Kaif and Salman's humorous jokes. But before you say 'whow,' wait just for a while!
The second half seemed boring, and I bet you will start yawning if you are not watching it on the big screen! There is no logic; I mean though I agree that love can happen anytime and anywhere, but here it all happens too fast - falling in love, accepting and running away. I can't imagine as to how a dedicated agent can take out bulk money, run away from place to place...silly!

There is more of illogical stuff out there....Stopping the train by hanging overcoat to the antenna of train (I don't know what you call that) and the shirt doesn't catch fire; jumping from one building to another, bus-car....whatever comes on the way.

Honestly, I saw more of running and jumping in the movie which reminded me of Sanjay Leela Bhansali as he makes all his heroines run so much (excluding jumps).

As for Katrina, her expressions were rather dull, though I must admit that she has improved a lot. Needless to say, the hottie has done the 'action' and dance' bit very well. It's a pleasure to see the chemistry between Salman and Katrina. They look awesome together.

Music is good, though not very impressive.

Ek Tha Tiger's only 'saving grace' is TIGER - Salman Khan! Sallu's innocent face, style and stunts is what that has taken the film so far!

I would give two and half stars for this. One and a half for Salman, half star each for Katrina Kaif and music.

Who will like ETT:
1) Only 'Die-hard' Salman Khan fans will like this.
2) Action lovers.

Not Salman Khan, it's Shahrukh special for Katrina Kaif this Eid!

The world knows how dedicated is Katrina Kaif as an actress. Kaif is well-known in the industry for her back-breaking hard work and commitment towards profession. Following the same agenda, the actress has refused to take a break this Eid. It has been reported that Katrina Kaif will be shooting for her upcoming Yash Raj Film in Ladakh along with co-star Shahrukh Khan.

According to a leading daily, she won't be accompanying Salman Khan in Mumbai, who will be celebrating the festival. Sources inform the daily that Katrina's family too has come down to India to celebrate Eid. But, Kat will stay away from all the fun and frolic. She will, in fact celebrate it in Ladakh, with Shahrukh Khan.

On the other hand, Shahrukh Khan has been very desperate to celebrate the festival in Mumbai along with his family and close ones. A while ago, the superstar had said, "I'll try to come back for Eid, read the namaz at home and all. But I don't know if I can come back from Ladakh if I am shooting there." It looks like both Shahrukh and Katrina have to give a miss to the Mumbai's Eid. The Yash Raj untitled film is all set to release on November 13, 2012.

Movie of Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger crosses 100 crore mark at Box Office in 5 days

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer latest Hindi movie Ek Tha Tiger, which released on August 15, has done superb collections at the Indian Box Office. The movie has broken the first weekend collection of Sallu's previous film Bodyguard, which had grossed Rs 85.50 crore in five day extended first weekend. It has set new bench mark by crossing Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic collection centres in its opening weekend.

Ek Tha Tiger opened to an earth-shattering response at the Box Office. The Kabir Khan directed flick registered 100% occupancy at both single screens and multiplexes across the country and raked in Rs 32.92 crore on its opening day. With this, it shattered the first day collection record of Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath, which had grossed Rs 23 crores nett.

But the business of Ek Tha Tiger dipped more than 50% on Thursday and it further went down on Friday. The movie witnessed a big jump in its collection on Saturday and Sunday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted yesterday, "#EkThaTiger *India* Sunday trends: Better than Saturday. Another BIG jump expected today."

Ek Tha Tiger has scored Rs 77.10 crores nett at the Indian collection centres in four days. Its breakup is Rs 32.92 cr on Wed, Rs 14.5 cr on Thur, Rs 12.90 cr on Fri and Rs 16.75 cr on Sat. As per the trade experts' calculations, the film would add Rs 23 crores nett on Sunday to make it Rs 100 crore in its first weekend at the Box Office.

However, Ek Tha Tiger has become all time highest grosser movie in the first weekend. Salmania is the main reason for its huge response. The makers of the film had massive promotion for it. Salman and Katrina's superb performance, real storyline, amazing music and camera work are its major attractions. In addition, the movie received positive reviews from film critics and viewers.

Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger gets massive opening at Chennai Box Office

Chennai: Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger has got an earth-shattering opening in Chennai. The movie, which is released in 45 screens in Tamil Nadu, ran to packed houses in and around the city.

Traders say that as there were no big Tamil releases, Ek Tha Tiger was grandly welcomed by Tamil audience. It is noted that very rarely a Hindi movie gets such an opening in the state, as the Bollywood movies are still not so popular in Tamil Nadu.

While Ek Tha Tiger did an amazing business in and around Chennai, the other regions got decent response, say traders. The Salman Khan starrer movie is distributed by Sathyam Cinema and it is released in 20 screens in Chennai alone. In the recent times, Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One and Akshay Kumar's Rowdy Rathore, the Hindi version of Siruthai, did notable business at the Chennai Box Office.

Watch the movie review of EK THA TIGER

The theatres across the country screening Ek Tha Tiger were overflowing with movie buffs within and outside in the morning shows. In many places, the theatre owners had to call the police to control the mob. Trade analysts have already predicted that Ek Tha Tiger would collect Rs 27 to 30 crores nett on the first day.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Ek Tha Tiger is an out-and-out action entertainer. It is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Yash Raj Films. Sathyam Cinemas is distributing the movie in Tamil Nadu.

‘Ek Tha Tiger’ Review: Kabir Khan fails to impress; film thoroughly disappointing

What would you expect when Salman Khan, Kabir Khan and Yash Raj Films team up- a super masala entertainer, right?

‘Ek Tha Tiger’ looked very promising prior to its release and the film does entertain you to an extent but also compels you to wonder if you truly want to ridicule your intelligence.

After ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ - yet another Eid release of Salman Khan - might just make it to the Rs100 crore club, courtesy his incredible fan following and an intriguing first half. But the film sadly falls in the same trap like other Salman films which lack content.

Salman Khan plays Tiger, a code name given to him by Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) of India. But the role of an intelligence officer has been manipulated to the core to befit a masala entertainer!

After a successful mission in Iraq, Tiger is now entrusted with the task of collecting external intelligence by spying on a Trinity College Professor, who has apparently been approached by the ISI for sharing missile technology secrets.

Tiger flies down to Dublin, the Irish capital, to follow the Professor. And that is where he ends up meeting his ladylove (Zoya) Katrina Kaif, the professor’s residence caretaker. Tiger introduces himself as Manish Chandra, a writer, and seeks her help in getting an appointment with the professor.

Zoya extends all possible help to a shelter-less Manish and befriends him. And that is when seeds of romance are sowed!

Though Tiger knows that he is on a mission and he dare not fall in love, he loses his heart to Zoya, who could act as a catalyst in providing information about the professor. Tiger is constantly reminded of his duties by Gopi (Ranvir Shorey), his colleague, not to lose his heart while on a mission but he does approve of Tiger’s choice of a Bhabhi for him!

Zoya, who also happens to be a dance instructor, invites Tiger for a show and here is where you would find a twist in the tale!

After an incredible ‘Kabul Express’ and somewhat gritty `New York`, a masala entertainer like ETT wasn’t expected from director Kabir Khan. Yash Raj Films has certainly spent a whopping amount on the exotic locations that are a treat to watch but haven’t helped the film gain a cult status.

However, the film does have superbly directed action sequences, foot-tapping songs by Sohail Sen and Sajid-Wajid, and a tinge of Salman Khan`s special comedy that does make you cheer.

And mostly importantly, though Salman and Katrina deny being in a relationship in real life, their chemistry onscreen looks every bit convincing. And the duo is an absolute delight to the eyes!

But over all, the film does disappoint you for it fails to deliver what it promised.

If you are a Salman Khan fan, you would love it for sure and the movie might rake-in the moolah because of the superstar! It will certainly entertain you if you leave your brains outside the theatre!
