Newlywed Natalie Portman flashes sparkling ring after marrying her Black Swan love

Newlywed Natalie Portman proudly flashed her wedding ring while on a sunshine stroll in Los Angeles yesterday.

The Black Swan actress, 31, was dressed casually in jeans and a neon T-shirt for an outing with a friend, but all eyes were on her bling.

She debuted her engagement ring at the Oscars last February and  appears to have added a diamond wedding band following the nuptials.
Newlywed Natalie Portman stepped out in LA yesterday
Natalie and French-born choreographer Benjamin Millepied tied the knot in a Jewish ceremony at a private home near Big Sur in California on August 4.

The Jewish ceremony was held under a chuppah in front of just 60 guests - including Diane Sawyer, Ivanka Trump, Macaulay Culkin and Rashida Jones.

The wedding banquet was strictly vegan in keeping with the bride's diet.

Natalie wore a simple tea-length cocktail designed by Rodarte.

The pair met on the set of Black Swan and welcomed their first child, son Aleph, into the world 13 months ago.

When Natalie won the Best Actress Oscar for Black Swan in 2011, she paid tribute to Benjamin, calling him her 'beautiful love' and thanked him for giving her the 'most important role of my life'.

At this year's Academy Awards there was speculation they had already tied the knot as they both wore bands on their wedding ring fingers.

Natalie Portman sends legal notice to Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan's revelation that he's doing a romcom with Hollywood star Natalie Portman next seems to have stirred up quite a storm. Although the Bollywood actor-producer maintained that he was joking, it seems the representatives of the Oscar winning actress for 'Black Swan' didn't share his sense of humour. Buzz was that they had issued a legal notice to Khan to ensure that a clarification of his statements was put out.

According to a source connected with the agency that handles Hollywood actress's work, "The story of Saif doing a romcom with Natalie wasn't taken lightly by the agency. They were wondering how someone was making such claims about their star client as they're not aware of any such development. So they decided to set right the wrong news that has been going around since the report first came out early last week."

Our informer further adds that after the legal notice from Natalie's agency reached Khan, he clarified his stance on Saturday. "It was a joke. I'm sorry. I'm just annoyed with speculation on all aspects of my life. I might just start making up stories to entertain myself," he said. While he avoided any mention of the notice, a source close to Saif maintained that they had not got any notice from anyone in this regard.

However, our source associated with the Hollywood star's agency asserted, "Considering the situation got a little too serious for Saif's 'joke', as he calls it, it's but obvious that they'd deny receiving any notice."

Freida romances Batman

Tree Of Life director Terrence Mallik has cast Freida Pinto in his next project, Knight Of Cups, along with Batman actor Christian Bale.

A source reveals that the story is about a man in search of love and truth, and that Mallik watched all of Pinto's previous films before casting her in the project. The source says, "Freida and Christian broke the ice immediately. They have casually bumped into each other at Hollywood events in the past, but never worked together. During the shoot they were quite playful and flirty."

The film also stars Oscar winners Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett.

Natalie Portman shows off her slim legs in patterned dress

She gave birth to her first child just seven months ago.

But Natalie Portman is definitely one of those celebrities who can bounce back into shape pretty quickly.

The Oscar-winning actress showed off her enviably-slim legs in a cute floral dress yesterday as she ran errands in Hollywood.

Natalie Portman, who gave birth to son Aleph seven months ago, was spotted running errands in Hollywood, wearing a pretty floral dress

The 30-year-old made the most of the warm weather in a pair of strappy flats and dark sunglasses.

She carried what looked like two dvds, and had water to keep her hydrated in the sun.

The day before, Natalie was spotted at a farmer's market in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Los Feliz with fiancé, French dancer Benjamin Millepied and their baby son Aleph.

She looked cute in a rust-coloured summer dress and sandals as she and her beau doted on their adorable baby while checking out the local produce.

Since giving birth to baby Aleph, Natalie has been pondering what to do when she returns to the acting industry.

And it was recently claimed that the 30-year-old actress is considering the sci-fi movie Jupiter Ascending as her first post-baby movie return.

Natalie is said to be in talks with writers Andy and Lana Wachowski to star in the film, which is set to start production in the autumn for a 2014 release.

It has also been reported that Natalie is planning to shoot a documentary about veganism, hoping to turn Jonathan Safran Foer's novel Eating Animals into a film.

In a recent interview with a French website, Foer said: 'She contacted me, she told me that she loved the book. I know her now.

'I will help her eventually but it will be her vision. She’s only at the very beginning.'

No bold lip colours for Portman

Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, who is pregnant with her first child, says she feels like a clown to wear bold lipstick but is now slowly trying to agree with make-up artists to wear more dramatic colours.

"I feel like a clown if I put on strong lipstick, but recently I've experimented with reds. Make-up artists have been urging me to try stronger lips, but it still doesn't feel like me. I'm working on it," femalefirst quoted her as saying.

Portman also revealed she developed an interest in perfume from her mother and believes it is important to include scent when "dressing up".

"My mum taught me to spray fragrance and walk into it. She has a sensitive sense of smell, so I've grown up with a great awareness. A scent that sets you apart makes you feel glamorous and elegant and gives you a different way of walking into a room - it's part of dressing up," she added.

Film: “Black Swan”;
Cast: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey, Winona Ryder;
Director: Darren Aronofsky;
Rating: **** – a dark perfection.

Though weakness, fragility and ugliness are frowned upon, these are the elixir of life. For there could be no conception of strength or beauty without it. And it is the conception of these opposites — black and white, beauty and ugliness, good and evil, woman and her doppelganger that auteur Darren Aronofsky explores in “Black Swan”, beginning with the two words of the film’s name that stand for opposites.

Nina (Nataile Portman), a ballerina, is desperate for the part of the swan queen in the ballet Swan Lake. The director, though impressed with her discipline, does not think she has it in her to play the swan queen’s evil twin, black swan. And she indeed gets too easily intimidated by everyone. However, gradually she observes changes in herself.

After a rash incident makes her director choose her, her dark side takes over gradually and through schizophrenic hallucinations, she not only plays the black swan, but becomes it in her mind and achieves perfection.

While casting Nina, the director tells Nina: “What is the use of all that discipline. Let go. Transcend. Surprise yourself”. That is what Aronofsky, an extremely disciplined filmmaker, seems to be telling himself.

After he hangs Mickey Rourke mid-air in the last shot of his last film “The Wrestler”, here he lets his ballerina take her leap of faith and follows his camera to her fall to ecstasy. Taking a leap with Rourke in the last film and Portman in this, Aronofsky does reach his own perfection.

Aronofsky’s skills are evident in the way he tells the story; a good part of it through mere reflection. Nina sees her dark reflection on the glass of a suburban train. Later, when she sees Beth, who she has replaced, for the first time after her accident, she sees her as a reflection on a glass pane of a door. Both these reflection foreshadow her future.

Unlike “The Fountain”, where he traverses the universe, here he confines himself to the immediate space of his ballerina. As her split personality and schizophrenic hallucinations become more pronounced, the camera composes her tightly as the spaces keep getting more and more constricted, till the end where she flies away.
It is the nature of things that opposite enhances. White looks whiter near black, beauty shines more in the presence of ugliness, strength soars in front of weakness. And that is the intention of “Black Swan”, to enhance white, beauty and strength, by highlighting the opposite, but showing the protagonist reach these using the opposite.

Natalie Portman, who won an Oscar for this role, drowns herself in this dark tale of an obsessed ballerina. She’s fragile and evil in equal and delicate measure, a quality without which the film would not have worked. And with over a century-old composer in Tchaikovsky, whose compositions embody opposites, the film does manage to achieve its own cinematic perfection.

Will Natalie break the curse?

A study conducted by the University of Toronto has found that actresses who win an Academy Award have either broken up with their husbands, boyfriends or lovers just months after winning.

And if the new research is to be believed, then actress Natalie Portman, who is the hot favourite for the top award for her performance in ''Black Swan'', could end up being the next to feel the curse, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The study showed that Best Actress winners have a 63 percent chance of ending up divorced, and that winners were proven to be 1.68 times more likely to head to the divorce court than those who were nominated but didn''t take home the gold.

Betting agencies are already giving punters the chance to bet on the likelihood of the newly engaged and pregnant Portman, 29, succumbing to "the curse".

Sports Interaction is just one US site who will pay 1.50 dollars if the actress and her fiancee Benjamin Millepied remain together officially until December 31, 2012.

Stars who were affected by the Oscar''s curse are:

Sandra Bullock 2010 - Her five-year marriage to Jesse James ended just days after her Oscar win for ''The Blind Side'' when she discovered he had been having an affair with a tattoo model.

Kate Winslet 2009 - A year after winning the Best Actress award playing a concentration camp guard in ''The Reader'', Winslet''s marriage to director Sam Mendes ended.

Reese Witherspoon 2006 - Witherspoon accepted the Best Actress award for her role in ''Walk the Line''. By the end of the year, she had left her husband and father of her two children, actor Ryan Philippe.

Hilary Swank 2005 - Swank split from husband Chad Lowe, whom she had called "my everything" during her acceptance speech, a year after winning for her role in ''Million Dollar Baby''.

Charlize Theron 2004 - As Theron accepted her Oscar for ''Monster'', she said of long-time boyfriend Stuart Townsend: "I have to thank my incredible partner in crime. You are one hell of a partner to have. Thank you for standing by me."

The couple ended their nine-year relationship in January 2010.

Halle Berry 2002 - Berry became the first black woman to win an Oscar for ''Monster''s Ball'' and a year later she left husband Eric Benet.

Julia Roberts 2001 - Roberts took home the Oscar for ''Erin Brockovich'' and thanked boyfriend of four years Benjamin Bratt in her speech. Three months later they parted ways.

Gwyneth Paltrow 1999 - Paltrow won her best actress Oscar for ''Shakespeare in Love'' and at the time was reportedly deeply in love with Ben Affleck. The couple split two months later.

Portman shows off her sexy side in new ad

'Black Swan'' star Natalie Portman has shown her sexy side in a French fragrance commercial.

The ad for Miss Dior Cherie perfume shows the actress standing with her bare back in a half zipped little black Dior dress while her on-screen lover awaits her in her bed, reports the New York Daily News .

Portman is also seen blindfolding her on-screen beau with his bow tie, kissing him passionately on a bed and soaking in a tub wearing nothing but her Dior sunglasses.

Director Sofia Coppola drenches the ad with Parisian glamour from the Serge Gainsbourg soundtrack to the clear homage to Jean Luc Godard''s 1960s films.

Another image that Coppola added is a white swan gliding through the water – an obvious nod to Portman''s Oscar-nominated role as a ballerina in the Darren Aranofsky film 'Black Swan'.

Natalie Portman feels like an old hag

London, Feb 5 – Actress Natalie Portman has revealed that her lengthy movie career has left her feeling like an ‘old hag’.

‘I made my first movie when I was 11. I’m an old hag. I guess it’s pretty common with actors, to be doing this for 18 years, but it’s extreme,’ showbizspy.com quoted her as saying.

‘I feel like I’m on another planet or something right now. It’s not quite sinking in. I feel really lucky. It’s something that’s completely wonderful, and I have a very definite goal I’m working toward with that,’ she added.

Portman, who is expecting her first child with fiance Benjamin Millepied, had recently admitted she’s hoping awards season doesn’t harm her unborn baby.

‘It’s wonderful to be recognized for awards but it is a little mad. I just hope all the screaming (from fans) and stuff isn’t making the little guy or girl crazy. But I’m getting through it and enjoying it. I just need to sit down more than usual!’ she added.

‘Black Swan’ prompts fans to contact Royal Ballet to see Portman

Natalie Portman’s portrayal of ballerina Nina in the psychological thriller ‘Black Swan’, directed by Darren Aronofsky, has prompted fans to contact Royal Ballet to enquire when the actress will be taking to the stage.
The Royal Opera House, currently staging the Royal Ballet’s latest revival of the ballet ‘Swan Lake’, has received enquiries from potential audience members asking about Portman, reports the Telegraph.
A Royal Opera House spokeswoman said that the opening of the film earlier this month, which coincided with the opening of the Royal Ballet’s new production, had boosted tickets sales.
“We have had people coming in and ringing up the box office to ask when Natalie Portman will be dancing in our production,” she said.
“People are definitely more interested in the ballet because of the buzz around ‘Black Swan’ and we’ve noticed a lot of new people who have come to see ‘Swan Lake’ for the first time,” she added.
The film, which has been nominated for five Oscars, has also led to increased tickets sales for the English National Ballet (ENB), which will stage a production of ‘Swan Lake’ in March at the London Coliseum.
“The hype around the film has definitely helped us and we won’t need to spend as much on advertising as usual on our forthcoming production. The film has been great in prompting so much public interest in classical ballet,” said a spokesperson for ENB. (ANI)

Natalie Portman’s ‘inappropriate’ bum digitally covered with bikini in new film

Natalie Portman’s bottom has been covered up by a digital bikini in her latest movie ‘Your Highness’ after movie bosses found it ‘inappropriate.’
The original footage showed Natalie wearing a thong bikini beside a lake, reports the Daily Mail.
The trailer now shows the 29-year-old’s behind covered in a sensible pair of brown bikini bottoms.
The decision was made by Universal, who used their CGI skills to alter the scenes without having to reshoot them.
By the time the decision was made, the scenes had already been released in a trailer to promote the film, with Natalie’s behind winning plenty of column inches.
The change was spotted by a sharp-eyed reporter at Entertainment Weekly, and a source told the magazine the scene was altered so the Motion Picture Association Of American (MPAA) would approve the trailer for screening to ‘appropriate audiences’.
The film itself, rated R, will show the original, unaltered scenes when it is released next April.
‘Your Highness’ is a comedic action/adventure set in medieval times, and also stars James Franco, Danny McBride and Zooey Deschanel. (ANI)
