Katrina may star in Ali Zafar’s next music video

Bollywood's lucky mascot Katrina Kaif may soon star in musician/actor Ali Zafar's music video, thanks to a bet that took place on the sets of their last film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

The story goes that Katrina had promised co-star Ali that she'd star in his next music video if the film made a box office milestone...that day isn't too far considering that Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has crossed the 50 crore mark .

Says Ali "I have a written consent from Katrina, along with a video recording on my phone, but I won't pressurize her. If she wants, I'll compose a song for her and we'll record it next time we're in Mumbai, probably in November for the MBKD success bash"

For Katrina Kaif, the singer/actor is willing to experiment with the song that promises to show fans a new side of her."She's a delicate soul. If she appears in my video, you'll see a side to Katrina you've never seen before" adds Ali.

Ali Zafar and Katrina Kaif Become Best Buddies

Ali Zafar and Katrina Kaif friendship on the sets of a film has raised its level and both have become best friends now.Though actors becoming friends while shooting for a film together is not a new story in bollywood however; only few relationships last. A few actors are only able to squeeze time out of their tight schedules for each other after the togetherness of the shooting period ends.

Packed shooting schedules unable to hinder their friendship
Among such selected few are the actors like Katrina Kaif and her co-star Ali Zafar who have well maintained their friendships beyond their packed shooting schedules. Both managed their friendship very well during their shoot for their latest film and are in touch with each other even after the shooting.
Katrina is famous as a very simple and undemanding person in the industry however; she had expressed her problems in managing her friendships in the industry. She had said, “It becomes very difficult to have the same set of people around, as you are constantly on the move. Doing a film takes up so much of your time. When you do a film you get involved in it. For the next three months that unit becomes your family and then once the film wraps up, that world ends. Yes you do make friends, but sometimes that changes as well."

Ali treats Kat like a younger sister
Though Salman is still the first point of contact for Katrina in times of need, but the best friends’ relationship developed between her and Ali can’t also be denied. As per the information provided by a closed source, "Ali treats Kat like a younger sister. He looks after her and makes sure that she is well taken care of. His wife too is very fond of Katrina and looks forward to meeting her."

Ali had also organized a party to celebrate the success of the film and the entire cast and crew of the film was invited in that. To everyone’s dismay, Katrina had to leave for Dublin on the same day but she came to the party though for not much time. Commenting on this, a source revealed, "Katrina was to fly to Dublin that same night. But, since Ali had made a special request, she came to the party for a while. Ali, who was very happy to have her around sang a song dedicating it to Kat, before she left. She in turn had a big smile on her face all through the party. They both have now become very close and are almost like family to each other.”

Ali Zafar talks about kissing co-star Aditi Rao Hydari

Considering the light-hearted roles the actor essayed in his last two films, Tere Bin Laden and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, it might come as a surprise that actor Ali Zafar is actually an action enthusiast and looks up to star of the moment actor Salman Khan as his hero.

“I am a big Salman fan and want to work in action films but I haven’t got any script yet. Plus, I will have to work really hard on my physique,” the Pakistani singer-turned actor says.

Ali is now busy with his next project titled, London Paris New York with co-star Aditi Rao Hydari. She is the same girl who became famous for puckering up to co-star Arunoday Singh umpteen times in Yeh Saali Zindagi and this time too, if sources are to be believed, shares an on screen kiss with Ali. When asked about reports of kissing co-star Aditi, he appears unflustered.

Coming from a conservative background, and being a married man, is his family back in Pakistan cool with his on-screen exploits? “My wife has no issues with it,” clarifies Ali, settling the matter once and for all.

Ali who last worked with actor Katrina Kaif has apparently grown very fond of her. So much so that he even compares Katrina to yesteryear’s beauty Madhubala. “According to me, the most beautiful lady of all time is Madhubala. She had the most stunning eyes. I wish I had been born in the same era as her, so I could have got a chance to work with her. After her (Madhubala), if I have to tag anyone as extremely beautiful, then that will be Katrina Kaif.”

I'm a big fan of Salman Khan: Ali Zafar (Movie Snippets)

Mumbai, Sep 18 (IANS) Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar, who is slowly making a foothold in the Indian film industry, says he is a big fan of Bollywood star Salman Khan.

'I'm a big fan of Salman Khan. If I ever do an action film, I would love to do something that Salman does. For that I would have to work very hard on my body but I'll try to do that,' Ali told reporters here.

The 31-year-old, who made his Bollywood debut with a small-budget film 'Tere Bin Laden', went on to grab a role in Yash Raj Films' 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'.

Currently he is filming for yet another Bollywood venture 'London Paris New York', being produced by Goldie Behl and Shrishti Arya and helmed by newcomer Anu Menon.

No lip lock issues with Aditi Rao Hydari

Although she made her Bollywood debut with 'Delhi-6', Aditi Rao Hydari got noticed in Sudhir Mishra's 'Yeh Saali Zindagi', not just for her performance but also because of her multiple lip locks with co-actor Arunoday Singh. Now the actress says that she has problems doing intimate scenes.

'In 'Yeh Saali Zindagi', all the kissing was completely valid, very organic to the film. I think it's the intention behind whatever scene you put in the film and if that is an honest intention, it doesn't upset either the viewer or the actor in any way,' Aditi said.

'If a film demands an intimate scene and there isn't any, viewers will only feel what's wrong with these people, which world do they live in? So sometimes it's necessary and if it's done beautifully, it's lovely to watch and it's fine,' the actress told reporters here.

Aditi will be next seen in 'London Paris New York' opposite Ali Zafar.

I have changed a lot as an actor: Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin, who entered Bollywood with Anurag Kashyap's 'Dev D' in 2009, says that she has evolved as an actress in these two years.

'I have changed a lot. As an actor, in 'Dev D' I was very camera-conscious, I was scared to do anything. I was scared to ask for a second take, I just wanted to get the lines right.

'I'm getting involved in the characters. I'm becoming bolder in terms of talking to my directors if I don't understand something. If I want to try something new, if I have an idea, I speak out,' the 28-year-old told IANS.

After 'Dev D', Kalki has played pivotal characters in films like 'Shaitan', 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and 'That Girl In Yellow Boots'.

Katrina-Ali to create a music album together?

In their recent romcom, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ali Zafar and Katrina Kaif don't end up with each other. The picture in reality however is far from the 'not-so-perfect' reel ending.

The two actors, we hear, are all set to carry their camaraderie to the next level and collaborate on a music album.

Understandably, the actress does not want to reveal much at this point. She says, "Ali and I have definitely hit it off musically. We share a lot of common musical interests that we're trying to take further. Let's see where it goes."

Incidentally, Kat has done a spot of nursery-rhyme singing for a kiddies' album by music maestro A R Rahman in the past.

She also learnt to play the guitar from Farhan Akhtar during Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, a talent she then applied in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

During the making of the latter, sources say both Kat and Ali were constantly in a huddle. "Ali and Katrina get along like a 'rock stadium' on fire.

They have a musical bonding. They enjoy each other's company. But more than that, Katrina enjoys the fact that Ali talks music," explains a source.

If their off-screen chemistry is anything to go by, we're sure this jugalbandi of sorts will be a treat to watch and hear of course!

What are Katrina and Ali Zafar up to?

What are Katrina and Ali Zafar up to? Pakistani pop star Ali Zafar and our own Katrina Kaif are now back planning their live gigs. Ali being a seasoned stage performer has a headstart. But we understand Imran Khan and Katrina would be burning up a lot of live energy at rehearsals before they actually go on stage.

Says Ali, “Yes, that’s the plan. I have been told Katrina and Imran will be joining me on stage. Agreed they aren’t musicians. But we’re all performers and part of one project We start as soon as I return to India. ”

Ali has been asked by Yashraj Films the producers of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan to help Katrina and Imran acclimatize themselves to live performances.

Says Ali modestly, “Maybe my USP is live singing. But they will take to the stage quickly. I know we’ll have fun. ”

Ali Zafar, recently voted the hottest male actor of 2011 in a survey, will soon be in India to star in another film. “Before I do David Dhawan’s Chashme Buddoor I’ve signed another film in Mumbai. As for being voted the hottest star I’m grateful to all my fans who have voted for me. ”

Apparently Ali’s closest competitor Ranveer Singh is upset about losing the ‘hottest’ crown to Ali.

Turning supremely diplomatic Ali says, “I’ve met Ranveer. He was extremely sweet and nice. I really like him. He’s super-talented. I wish him all the best. ”

Ali Zafar inspired by Mirza Galib

Ali Zafar takes on a Mirza Galib poem in his latest video "'Jee Dhoondta Hai'

Talent house Ali Zafar is soon to release the video of ''Jee Dhoondta Hai" a song featuring Mirza Ghalib's poetry from his latest hit album Jhoom.

The acclaimed poet's piece believed to be written for a courtesan will feature Ali Zafar in the video directed by Abdullah Haris. The six-and-a-half minute long video was shot in two days. "It shows the self-discovery of a man, his love and then his struggle, only to be involved in a spiritual journey, in the end," says Haris
Sharing more details of the project, Zafar informs, "'Jee Dhoondta Hai' was the last song I added in Jhoom. I recorded it three years ago. Before finishing the album, I felt that a song like this was missing. I had already sung a poem from Mirza Ghalib in the album Koi Umeed Bar Nahin Aatee and I after that I felt that who could get enough of the great maestro? So I added 'Jee Dhoondta Hai' in the last few days before finalising the record."

As per a recent market survey Ali Zafar 's third album titled "Jhoom" released by Alif records, Ali's own record label is the highest selling album in Pakistan and if that wasn't all Jhoom also ranked second in popularity on Indian charts.
