Mandira bedi and anil kumbale to play cricket in big screen

Television actor Eijaz Khan who makes his debut in soon-to-be-released "Meerabai Not Out" opposite Mandira Bedi, feels that there are high expectations and less pressure in movies as compared to small screen.

Eijaz said he did not find any difference in terms of approaching a role as an actor, saying "Acting is all about understanding what the director wants from you and delivering the goods in both the mediums."

Television is a stepping stone to films is universally accepted fact. Besides, television actors are tried and tested and hence there are some film producers who consider television actors if they want fresh faces in their films, he added.

"It's a sweet romantic comedy with a dash of cricket. Mandira plays Meera Achrekar, a Maharashtrian middle class girl who is huge fan of Anil Kumble. While, I play a cardiologist with a modern background who has nothing to do with cricket. However, the game is part of every Indian's life," he added.

Speaking about shooting with Anil Kumble, who plays a cameo in the film, Eijaz said the former Test captain was a straightforward man with a good sense of humour. Eijaz said he wants to try out different genres of films for a good body of work. "I am just a newcomer. Let's see what opportunities I get," he added.

He says in "Meerabai..." , he plays a regular guy with normal aspirations in life whereas in Dharmesh Darshan's "Bhanvra", his character has high aspirations and can go to the extent of adopting different means to achieve them.

In PNC's "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", he plays a grey character. Eijaz is confident that "Meerabai.." will be liked by the audience. "The audience will smile throught the film and come out of theatres with a happy feeling," he said. To a question if television offers were still open, Eijaz said he has kept television on hold for last two years.

"Filmmakers ask for block dates and I do television, I will not be able to commit myself to films. Television is also too demanding. But, I am not ruling out television if there are good roles at a later stage. Right now, I am concentrating on building my film career," he added.

R Madhwan is loosing weight to look perfect in 3 Idiots

After Abhishek Bachchan who has lost 14 kgs to look like Mani Ratnam's on -the-run fugitive in his new film, it's Mani's earlier favourite Madhavan who is required to undergo a physical melting-down.

The interpretation of that instruction has been left to the individual actors. Says a source, "Aamir will lose some of that aggressively muscular look that he has acquired for Ghajini. He needs too look leaner and more athletic, as he did in Dil Chahta Hai. Playing a student at 40-plus won't be difficult for Aamir. He has done so in Rang De Basanti with great success. Sharman doesn't need to lose any weight. He looks completely in character. Madhavan needs to look more toned."

And it's not for the love of Mani. It's for Raj Kumar Hirani. Apparently, Hirani has asked all his three leading men Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan to "look like IIT students."

Madhavan who has temporarily shifted base to Mumbai to seriously pursue a career in Hindi cinema, has taken off for two weeks to Ashford in the UK to work on his physique for the role in 3 Idiots.

Speaking from London Maddy says: "My sister lives here in Ashford and there're very good health clinics here. Whenever I need to change around my metabolism or rework my physique for a role I head for Ashford. And at the moment I'm re-working my physique to look like a student. "

"It's not about looking thinner or younger. All three of us need to look convincing as IIT students. How we choose to do so has been left to us," says Madhavan. Madhavan returns in two weeks to resume the shooting of Teen Patti, which got suspended when the Big B fell ill.

A time -frame has been set for each of the actors to get into the shape they think right for their characters.

Govinda doing yoga to change physique for Handsome No.1

Source: NDTV Movies
The actor recently discovered yoga and he says it has changed his lifestyle completely.

He said, "Yoga has changed my life. No matter what my schedule, I've to do yoga every morning. I feel the difference within me. It's not about just losing weight. I lost a lot of weight earlier this year when I was shooting in Bangkok with Suniel Shetty for Loot. No, yoga is about self-discipline, about toning the body. I feel myself losing inches around my waist. I feel fitter. I can get into tight clothes without cringing."

So what is his fitness target?

"To look as healthy, handsome and fit as Dharam-ji (Dharmendra) did in his heydays. He has always been my role model. And now when I look at myself in the mirror I see glimpses of him in myself. That makes me feel really good," the actor said.

"I might soon get together with David Dhawan to make Handsome No.1," he laughed.

Having made a career out of comic roles, Govinda now wants to switch to action. He is really working hard on his physique and has got himself a martial arts and physical trainer.

"I've done action films in the past like Hatya and Shola Aur Shabnam. But they weren't full-on actioners. I now want to do an action film with stunts of an international calibre. I don't want to just plunge into it without being fully prepared. I've already lost a lot of weight. But it isn't enough. I want to lose some more," said Govinda.

Anil Kapoor's Role in Yuvvraj is same as he playes in Eeshwar

Anil Kapoor will be seen as an autistic in his forthcoming movie Yuvvraaj. If sources are to be believed Anil's reference point in Yuvvraaj is Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump.

This isn't the first time that Anil is playing an autistic role. In K Vishwanath's Eeshwar too he was cast as a slow, saintly man who wins over a village widow. Anil has admitted he copied Raj Kapoor in Eeshwar.

Shah Rukh Khan too is set to play an isolated Muslim suffering from an autism in Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan.

"Anil plays elder brother to Salman and Zayed Khan. Subhash Ghai had been meaning to incorporate a physically-psychologically challenged character into his script for a long time. It was Anil who told Subhashji the story idea for Yuvvraaj," said a source.

Sonu Nigam likes acting more then singh

Source: Sify Movies
Sonuis one of the most successful and popular playback singers in Bollywood, but it is acting that gives Sonu Nigam greater happiness.

Sonu, who started his career as a playback singer with Gulshan Kumar's Aaja Meri Jaan, also clarified that Kumar was not his mentor. "Gulshan Kumar gave me the much-needed break, but he was not responsible for shaping my career."

Sonu, who has won 33 awards for playback singing including the Filmfare award, says initially music directors were hesitant to work with him.

Sonu said he still gets acting offers, but can't accept them. "I am busy with my singing assignments which include shows, playback singing and private albums. Right now I am busy with my shows abroad and also a few albums. So, I have put aside my acting offers. But I am open for it and will perhaps do a project a year later."

"I admit my films did not do well, but my work was appreciated. Acting gave me great happiness. Not a single critic wrote bad things about my performance. I think it is better to be appreciated in a flop than to be a part of a hit film where your work is not recognised," said Sonu.
In the recent past, he had shows in Birmingham, London and Manchester in Britain and in various cities in the UAE.

"I was never the first choice for the best compositions. Music directors used to give all the good compositions to singers like Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and Abhijeet. I was only offered qawali or songs that needed a voice like Rafi," said Nigam, who has recorded the highest number of songs of Mohammad Rafi in T-Series's Rafi Ki Yaadein series. Today he is singing for top league actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan, among others.

Dostana:Enjaoy weeked with dostana

Cast: Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra
Direction: Tarun Manshukhani
Producer: Karan Johar , Manoj Mittra , Prashant Shah
Music: Vishal Dadlani , Shekhar Ravjiani
Rating: ***

The Movie:Happily, good taste, pop colour Miami locations, high-end costumes, make-up styling and the A-grade Dharma Productions values add up to a zingy entertainer. Sure, you do have trouble with the second-half of this cross-gender romcom because the script runs helter-skelter as if trying to find a bomb shelter. Yet in sum, the effort is remarkable for extending the limits of sexual permissiveness and for touching upon a subject that has remained largely in the studio closets. Gay gay gay re saiba really.

Besides its welcome political incorrectness, this Miami mambo is inhabited by two 21st century guys. One’s eeps, a hospital nurse (Abhishek Bachchan) and the other’s a photographer (John Abraham), both chasing bikinis on the beach and waking up every morning with brunettes and blondes. Both need a room on rent which shouldn’t be an issue, but the script insists that it is.
The finale isn’t exactly as bold and larkish as the rest of this fairy tale (with shades of I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry), and several scenes seem either expendable or déjà whew like the one set in a football stadium with the crowds cheering for love, love, love. No goal this.

On the bouncy-‘and-buoyant side, count Shilpa Shetty’s kick-off beachside boogie, the sensitively written-and-directed scene in which the mother being told to accept her son the way he is, the Vishal-Shekhar music score and Ayananka Bose’s cinematography of candy colours. Cool.

Of the cast, Boman Irani in a cameo is terrific. Priyanka Chopra is in form, pretty convincing as a working woman (she even announces her age as 27), who’s trying to deal with professional pressures. John Abraham is sheer eye-toffee and correctly restrained, without ever overdoing what passes off in the movies as gay gestures. Abhishek Bachchan is first-rate. In fact, he’s the most inspired of the lot, displaying a gift for dramatic and comic timing. Way to go Dostana! Enjoy the difference.

As said by Rakhi, their four-year old relationship ended bitterly due to several reasons. In fact, she also blamed Raj Thackrey and Laloo Prasad Yadav for her break up. After long break Gracy Singh is back to perform Rabindranath Tagore's 'Shyama'

Source: Bollywood Hungama
The LagaanGirl Gracy Singh was touted as the next big thing to be happening to Bollywood. The sad part was that after a few forgettable films (Armaan and Munnabhai MBBS being the exceptions), she was nowhere in the race. Gracy next release is Deshdrohi but the film has been banned in the Maharashtra.

'Shyama', basically is a ballet that is a soulful narration of a court dancer (Shyama) falling in love with a foreign merchant (Bajrasen). Since the entire ballet will be presented in the dance form of Bharatnatyam, it only works immensely in favour of the good-looking actress, as she is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer herself.

Leaving all this behind, Gracy is now all set to enthrall the audiences with Rabindranath Tagore's famous dance ballet 'Shyama' in Kolkata, on November 16. An excited Gracy said that 'Shyama' is challenging but at the same time, it is extremely exciting as there is so much depth in it.

With the controversial film Deshdrohi and a few others in her kitty, Gracy seems to be back in the race!

Source: SantaBanta

Shilpa Shetty injured her wrist and has been advised a three-month rest by her doctor. The actress has no clue as to what caused the injury.

"Ill wear a long sleeve top for Bigg Boss and I'll wear a fat kada for Sunny Deol's The Man." Either it happened because She was practising cartwheels for my new action film or it could be because of the wear and tear that happens in weight training," she says. Shilpa has found ways to camouflage the injury on screen.

The actress is now at home devoting to those activities that she had kept on hold because of her tight schedule."I have started reading scripts that I did not have time to read earlier. But I am going to be very careful about what I say yes to. I want to do films where my character is exceptionally well developed. I don't want to do multistarrers," she said.

I needed to do a U turn to be taken seriously as an actress once again." Shilpa added, "Financers want filmmakers to cut down on costs. How can that be possible? I don't want to compromise on the quality of my film to save a few bucks."

Being producer for the first time Shilpa does not want to take any risks. "That's the reason why I haven't opted for top stars becuase getting their dates would be a problem. Also I have relaised that I have become of a producer than an actress.

Tearful Salman share a lot About Srk with Mid day news paper

Salman Khan has been doing his round of interviews in preparation of impending release Yuvvraaj, and has once again taken the opportunity to bash his once good friend Shah Rukh Khan. He speak lots about srk with tears in eyes.
The hurt within Salman’s heart was once more noticeable in his interview for Mid-Day newspaper.

When asked as to why he was telling his family members to keep away from Shah Rukh, he denied saying this, “No I haven’t told them that.
I have messed up also not once but so many times, without any malice, any manipulation or agenda. If things go wrong between two buddies we say ‘okay buddy let’s hang out together and sort it out’ but if you are going to mess up and disrespect me then forget it,” said a tearful Salman.

If they want to participate in SRK’s family events they are more than welcome to do that. But don’t you think that it’s a kind of a joke that from one side it’s straight from the heart from one family and from one family it’s straight from the brain? Oh yeh Salman ke behalf pe aa rahe hai so he (Salman) looks like a fool. Yeh sabko bulaya gaya, yeh sab aayenge, they are all here, so Salman must be wrong. Because my family is socialising at SRK’s family events”

Salman then went onto state that it was Shah Rukh who told the media about their little disagreement. “As soon as Shah Rukh left the party, he started calling up the media! I didn’t speak till one week after the fight because he was trying to put me in the middle of something which is not cool from any angle! That is the time I stood up and started speaking. There is no reason for disrespect. Everybody messes up.
