Emma Watson may have just walked the final red carpet with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 premiere (bittersweet, yes!), but she's not resting on her laurels. In fact, she's kind of following in the footsteps of another popular young star, Kristen Stewart, with new film roles and more.
Watson and Stewart share several similarities, as both have become renowned for their roles in the fantasy-based series Harry Potter and The Twilight Saga, respectively. And while K-Stew hasn't yet officially finished with Breaking Dawn, the film debuts in November so her Twilight days are severely numbered.
Despite the success of these two blockbuster movies, both starlets seem to be aspiring to distance themselves from their characters. Emma Watson left Hermione in the dust with her boundary-breaking, 'envelope-pushing' role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Kristen Stewart has also said 'sayonara' to Bella Swan with movies like On the Road and her upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman.
Now, recent reports confirm that Emma Watson is also set to 'get her fairytale on,' not by playing another version of Snow White, but by starring in a remake of Beauty and the Beast, an adaptation helmed by Oscar-winning director Guillermo Del Toro. Nice! She'll definitely do that role justice with her charming demeanor; however, she may want to start growing her hair out now -- that is, unless the 21st century "Beauty" has a modern, short crop.
Really, the only thing missing from Emma Watson's equation is a hot, buzzed-about boyfriend like Kristen Stewart's Robert Pattinson. Then the two actresses would really be twins.
