Kissing scenes scare Tena Desae

Mumbai: Model-turned-actress Tena Desae, who did an intimate scene in British comedy-drama ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, says such scenes are scary for her.

But she is thankful to co-actor Dev Patel for his support while shooting the scene.

"A kissing sequence is still a nightmare for me. Luckily, I got through `The Best...` with the help of Dev. He downplayed everything so that I stay confident. But it`s still something which worries me," she told IANS.

Directed by John Madden, known for directing Oscar winning movie ‘Shakespeare In Love’, ‘The Best...’ also starred Judi Dench and Bill Nighy.

It released here May 13.

Hailing from Bangalore, Tena shifted base to here with the dream of becoming an actor. She says movies had an impact on her life.

"For the longest time, I didn`t know what I wanted to do. I was clueless. I watched some movies and I realised nothing moved me as much as movies. When I watch a sad film, I can cry for days. Acting just felt the right option," said the 25-year-old.

Tena debuted in Hindi films in 2011 with "Yeh Faasle", which also starred Anupam Kher.

Before entering movies, she worked as a model.

Explaining her move, she said: "I decided to enter into acting through modelling. It seemed like a smarter decision to be in advertisements, which are 30 seconds long, so you have a show reel when you go to directors as opposed to someone who didn`t. I was really lucky that the plan worked."

"After modelling, you get used to the camera, you understand lighting. It gave me a sense of familiarity," she said.

Doutzen is also a part of the Victoria's Secret brand. She joined the brand as a model in 2004 and became an Angel in 2008. She is also the face of L'Oreal.

Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor together on 'Indian Idol 6'

Mumbai: Cousins Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor will share the platform on singing reality show 'Indian Idol 6' to promote their respective films. Kareena will be spreading a word about her much awaited film 'Heroine', while cousin Ranbir will promote his movie 'Barfi'.

"Kareena and Ranbir both will be coming for the grand finale of 'Indian Idol 6' on August 31," sources told PTI. Kareena plays the part of a superstar Mahi, in Bhandarkar's 'Heroine' and goes through the various phases of an actress's life - from a glamorous high profile innings to a tragic downfall. The film releases on September 21.

'Barfi' is a romantic comedy directed by Anurag Basu, revolving around Murphy (Ranbir) whom everyone calls Barfi. Always ready with a prank, he is quite a charmer even though he can neither speak nor listen. Priyanka Chopra plays an

autistic character, Jhilmil, in the film. Set to release on September 14, the film also features Tollywood actress Ileana D'Cruz.

There is also a buzz in B-town that Kareena and Ranbir would be seen together for the first time on silver screen in Zoya Akhtar's project. The real life cousins would play reel life siblings in the film.

Big B gets 1 million likes on the first day of joining Facebook

Good News for Amitabh Bachchan fans. Bollywood Superstar is now a part of social networking site Facebook.

According to media sources, Bachchan is considered as a fan lover. He is among those celebrities, who like to keep him linked with the fans.

After joining Face book, Bachchan tweeted, “Yipee! I am on FaceBook! My ID: FaceBook.com/AmitabhBachchan, And!! Its close to 8 lakhs in half an hour!! Keep it coming, Baby.”

Bachchan activated his Facebook account on Tuesday and with in an hour he received more than 0.8 million likes.

Superstar uploaded a video on Facebook, in which he said, “Hello everybody! This is Amitabh Bachchan and I just want all of you to know that now I am on Facebook and this is a welcome device. The way the digital world is going is just unbelievable. And I thought that I would use facebook to connect with all my well- wishers yet again.”

Nicole Kidman to receive special honour at New York Film Festival

Karachi: The Oscar-winning Actress, Nicole Kidman is set to be honoured with a gala tribute during the 50th Annual New York Film Festival on October 3rd, the Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced.

Kidman will be the festival's first honoree at an Alice Tully Hall event that will include an onstage conversation as well as a screening of Lee Daniels' “The Paperboy.”

The film “The Paperboy” has also been scheduled to the festival's slate. It is directed by Lee Daniels and stars Kidman, Zac Efron, John Cusack and Matthew McConaughey.

Program Director Richard Pena, who will also be feted during the 17-day event, says, “Nicole Kidman is one of film's finest contemporary actresses. Since her breakthrough performance in To Die For and her bold and provocative appearances in Lars Von Trier's Dogville, Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, as well as her awarding-winning portrayal of Virginia Woolf in Stephen Daldry's The Hours, Kidman has insisted on finding roles that are complex, bold and demanding.”

“We are excited to honor her with a tribute at the New York Film Festival,” Pena further added.

Kidman will be honoured with gala tribute on October 3rd, with the Pena event following on October 10th. The festival continues September 28th through October 14th.

Washington: Lady Gaga has given fans a peep into her crazy home life by posting a video clip of her dancing with her mum and flashing her bare breasts during Christmas celebrations.

The 26-year-old singer has compiled a series of personal video clips for her fans and posted them on YouTube.com.

In one of the videos, a bra-less Gaga bounces around her parents’ living room and repeatedly lifts her black top to reveal her boobs as her sister Natalia giggles in the background, Contactmusic reported.

Another one shows her spending quality time with her godson, Elton John’s son Zachary.

London: Kim Kardashian has splashed out 60,000 pounds on a superloo.

The reality TV star has got the luxury lav fitted in her Beverly Hills home.

The self-flushing toilet has a bidet, a heated seat and can play any music you’d like while you go about your business.

“Kim is obsessed with cleanliness, so she had no problem spending such a large amount on a hi-tech toilet,” a source told the Daily Star.

“It’s self-flushing and self-cleaning, includes a bidet and has a heated seat with an automatic lid that lifts and lowers itself.

“And if that wasn’t enough it also comes with its own computerised sound system so guests can listen to the music of their choice while they relieve themselves.”

The 31-year-old is also determined to ensure that her bathroom is spick and span.

“Kim’s terrified of people using her toilet and forgetting to flush,” the source said.

“She’s sure this will solve the problem, and thinks it will also be a real talking point for friends when they come over,” the source added.
