PETA terms Diane's fur shoot 'vulgar'

Diane Kruger seems to have upset the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ( PETA) with her recent fur photo shoot for the March issue of GQ.

The photos show the 34-year-old actress lounging on a bed while wearing vintage fur boots. She is completely naked except for a fur blanket covering her private parts, reports the New York Daily News.

Lisa Lange, PETA''s vice president, said, "It''s sad that such a beautiful actor would wear fur from coyotes, who, in pain and desperation, will often gnaw off their own legs in order to escape from steel traps to return to their young."

"Diane says that she despises vulgarity, yet there''s nothing more vulgar and pretentious than flaunting the skins of animals who were violently killed for luxury,"

Lange continued. "This will not endear her to a big chunk of the movie going public."

Katie Price's car injures fan

Katie Price was involved in a minor car accident as her driver hit a bollard when they were leaving from a London theatre.

The incident took place Thursday when the model's driver was trying to avoid a crowd of fans as she was leaving the Phoenix Theatre.

The silver BMW vehicle was left with damage to the front of the left passenger side and an unnamed young man was taken to hospital following the incident, but he is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries, femalefirst reports.

Katie had to wait inside the venue and make arrangements for another car as police had to question the driver.

Narnia producer Perry Moore passes away

Hollywood film producer and novelist, Perry Moore, has died of an apparent drug overdose.

Moore, 39, was found at around 2 p.m. in his Houston Street pad, a doorman high-rise just off Sixth Avenue, police sources said.

Moore was an executive producer of the blockbuster 'Chronicles of Narnia' trilogy and had penned a well-received fiction work in 2007 about a gay teenage superhero, reports the New York Post.

According to sources, prescription meds were found in Moore''s pad, but no criminality is suspected.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Shahrukh Khan Rocks New Look for 'Don 2'

Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra took off to Malaysia to shoot some more scenes for their upcoming box-office smash Don 2 - The Chase Continues the other day and now we finally get to see SRK's new look!

The star-studded team worked in Berlin for a few weeks late last year and fans have been following the cast through their tweets and pics. The Don himself, Shahrukh Khan, arrived on the set in Berlin and was soon joined by his co-stars Priyanka Chopra, Kunal Kapoor, Boman Irani and Lara Dutta.

Don 2 stars Shahrukh Khan as Don, nothing new there, Priyanka Chopra as Roma, Boman Irani as Vardhaan and Om Puri as Mallik. Arjun Rampal however won't be part of the new production and took to Twitter to announce the news. "Hey Guys, Yes it is true won't be part of Don 2. Wish the team all the success I am sure it will be a super film," he said. 

Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and directed by Farhan Akhtar, Don 2 is the sequel of the 2006 box-office hit Don: The Chase Begins Again, which in turn is a remake of the 1978 classic Don. When Don: The Chase Begins Again hit theaters it was love at first sight with audiences across the globe and hopefully its sequel will be another hit.

Shilpa Shetty is all praises for Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra for her power-packed performance in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘7 Khoon Maaf’.

In the film, Priyanka Chopra plays a woman who craze for true love and in search of pure love, she gets married seven times. Unsatisfied with her husbands attitude and nature, she kills each of them.

Sonali caught in a party without underwear

At Four Season’s Hotel a constellation of stars assembled to celebrate a party on the night of 1^st February. The party was hosted by Director Karan Johar of the Koffe with Karan fame. Stars like Aishwarya Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra to Kareena Kapoor all were present.

Amongst others was Sonali Bendre the star who won the Star Screen Award for the Best Supporting Actress in the year 2001 for her film Hamara Dil Apke Paas Hai. With a huge fan following its obvious that even the media keeps a close distance watch on where she goes and what she wears. Sonali and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked in together and no sooner had they walked in that Sonali became the talk of the town for her wardrobe mal-functioning.

Priyanka's miffed with Vishal

As Saat Khoon Maaf begins its box-office journey today, rumours already suggest that Vishal Bhardwaj has decided to work with Priyanka Chopra again in his next.

That Vishal and Priyanka had a major difference of opinion earlier this week is thus very shocking. What went wrong?

Apparently, Priyanka, who has been promoting the film, was very keen to join Vishal when he left for the Berlin Film Festival on Wednesday.

Says a source, "Priyanka really wanted to be in Berlin. After all, Saat Khoon Maaf is as much her film as Vishal's. She's the face of the film, which was being screened in the 'panorama section' of the Festival.

This was the film's first screening at an international forum. Naturally, she wanted to be with Vishal at this momentous occasion."

Vishal, they say, put his foot down and chose not to take Piggy while arguing that she could not leave Mumbai at the time of the release, especially when last-minute promotions had to be in full swing.

Says a source, "Priyanka reasoned with Vishal. She offered to intensify the publicity and finish everything in two days prior to the release date, so she could be in Berlin for the festival.

Even Vishal's wife Rekha Bhardwaj intervened on Priyanka's behalf and tried coaxing him to let her come along. But Vishal was adamant. He felt Priyanka's presence was needed more in Mumbai than in Berlin."

Vishal left with his wife and the rest of the team for Berlin on Wednesday. The only actor from Saat Khoon Maaf who joined them in Berlin was Anu Kapoor, who spent for his trip himself.

When asked about Priyanka's exclusion from the screening in Berlin, a member of Vishal's team says, "Yes, Priyanka was very keen to go. But how could she go? The Berlin screening was on Thursday, just a day before the release in Mumbai.

Vishal insisted she stay back because there were so many media events lined up for her. There was no time because Priyanka had to start shooting for an ad in Madh Island starting Friday.

I don't think she should take it to heart. We're sure Saat Khoon Maaf will go to many international festivals where she can be present."

Meanwhile, we would hope Piggy's experience in the film has improved her 'forgiveness' quotient.

Anees miffed with Arya Babbar?

Prioritizing work commitments has often led to rifts in the industry. This time round, Arya Babbar left filming, in Bangkok, for Anees Bazmee's Ready to go shoot for Shirish Kunder's Joker, in Chandigarh, which has created a rift between Bazmee and Babbar.

Our source tells us, "Arya has been shooting for Ready for sometime now. When he got an offer from Shrish Kunder for Joker, he wanted to go and shoot for it for some days.

Anees was not keen on letting him go, fearing that would affect the schedule for Ready. But Arya was adamant about shooting for Joker for three to four days. This led to an altercation, but Anees eventually had to let him go."

When contacted, Babbar said, "I don't know where these rumours are spreading from. Shrish and Farah are family to me and come first for me, however I will not let Anees's work suffer. Farah and Shirish gave me work after Jail, when I had no films.

After Tees Maar Khan, I got enough of work and so when they called me, I wanted to do the film. I will be in Chandigarh, for four days, to finish my work for Joker and then return to Bangkok."

When asked if Bazmee is upset, Babbar said, "Aneesbhai was worried about the schedule being tossed and turned but that's it. He is a sweetheart and all is fine."

Preity bored of playing bubbly babe

" I can't be doing the bubbly dimpled babe all my life," said Preity Zinta on making her long-awaited comeback to the silver screen and this time she is venturing out of her comfort zone .

The actress is all geared up to star in Mahesh Manjrekar's film, White, which is a hard-hitting drama about a woman, who goes through several shades of dark and light experiences, right from her 20s to her 60s.

Apparently when Preity read the script she was ecstatic. She teased Manjrekar and asked, "Why me? Why not Tabu who is your favourite actress?"

Reportedly, Manjrekar, who cast Tabu in Astitva (2000), believes the role in White would be too easy for her and so, he is setting himself a challenge casting an actress with a bubbly, rom-com image in an edgy, dramatic role.

Zinta refrained from commenting on Manjrekar's offer and simply said, "At this stage of my career I need new challenges. Luckily, directors can see beyond my chirpy I'm-so-happy image."

The last we saw Zinta in a not-so bubbly role was in 2008, when she played a battered wife, in Deepa Mehta's Heaven on Earth.

Manjrekar, who had not directed a Hindi film for five years, made a comeback last year with the gritty City Of Gold. He is currently shooting for Anees Bazmi's Ready in Bangkok. When asked about his project with Zinta, he tells us, "I'll finalize the project when I return to Mumbai."

Dabangg director picks Salman over SRK

Abhinav Kashyap had not expected the success of Dabangg to have a flip side too. The director was caught in a Bollywood crossfire - that between the industry's biggest rivals, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, as both actors were eager to work with him in their next projects. 

Salman wished Kashyap would start work on Dabangg 2 while Khan wanted him to start a film for Red Chillies Entertainment.

Kashyap reportedly went for a hush-hush meeting with SRK at his residence to discuss the proposition of making a new film and that's where Kashyap's dilemma began.

SRK asked the director to pen a mainstream potboiler. He told Kashyap that he would produce the film and act in it too.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Mirror reported on February 9, 2011 that Kashyap and Salman had patched up and had plans of working on Dabangg 2.

What happened in the interim is unknown. What made Kashyap choose one Khan over the other?

Speculations say that Kashyap decided to prioritise his commitments to Salman, the actor who made his debut film a super hit.

The issues Kashyap reportedly had with Sallu obviously went out of the window, we presume. Others suggest that Salman put his foot down in this matter and categorically told Kashyap, "It's my way or the highway".

Though Kashyap remained unavailable for comment, the million-dollar question is: how will SRK take to his marked preference for Salman? A source revealed, "The shooting of Dabangg 2 starts in December 2011.

As for SRK's film, he has still not been able to lock the script. The SRK project is still far away."
But then again, we all know the tortoise and hare story...

Riteish not in Dostana sequel

Riteish Deshmukh, for long, has been talked about for being a part of " Dostana 2", most probably in one of the lead roles.

There was buzz that the actor was being roped in for Karan Johar's latest movie, but Riteish denied it on his recent visit to the city.

Very clearly, he announced, "I am in the sequel of "Dhamaal". But I'm not in "Dostana 2".

He also said that all the buzz that was floating were rumours, and he was never a part of the film.

No social networking for SRK

All efforts were being made by the channel for which Shah Rukh Khan is hosting a reality game show that SRK makes a comeback on the net. However, those plans have tanked.

SRK had gone off his social network following abusive language against him by a couple of people who were using the net space to give vent to their personal vendetta against him.

SRK was very hurt and he decided to call it quits. Now, despite the channel trying their level best to coax the superstar to stage a comeback, SRK is in no mood to enter the dodgy domain.

Mallika, the richest item girl

Mallika Sherawat may be settled in Los Angeles, but Bollywood actually sees her as nothing more than an item girl.

The Hisss star who went back into her snake-pit after the film was a washout, now promises to strike with not one but three hot item numbers in Bollywood. The most interesting part of this development is the part that says the actress will reportedly be paid Rs 1.5 crore per item number.

A trade source says, "Mallika will dish out three very different item numbers this year for Anees Bazmee's Thank You. Anees who used Mallika very effectively in Welcome was keen that she charm the audience with her hot sexy number in his next release as well. He knows that having Mallika, who is a crowd puller, will increase the curiosity level of the project.''

Besides Anees, some lesser known filmmaker called Chandrakant Singh who is making Bin Bulaye Baarati also has two item songs reserved for Mallika. In this case the starcast of his film is very average and the idea of getting Mallika to move her booty to item numbers is an obvious attempt to salvage the project say sources. If the trade claims are true, then Mallika may well be B-town's highest paid item girl of the year.

Salman brings home the rascals

If you notice cameos by Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Kangna Ranaut in Anees Bazmee's Rascals, do not be surprised.

Although the three were not part of the cast originally, they spent a day shooting for the film as a favour to their good friend, Salman Khan.

Incidentally, Dutt, Devgn and Ranaut were shooting for David Dhawan's Rascals in Pattaya when they received the call from the Dabangg superstar to shoot for Ready in Bangkok.

Our source tells us, "When Salman Khan calls everyone has to respond and these are his dear friends.

Salman has the highest respect for Sanjay Dutt and he is very close to Ajay. So when a scene came up which needed film stars Salman thought why wait to go to India and shoot when the unit of David Dhawan's Rascals is present in Pattaya. He made calls to Dutt and Devgn and both readily agreed.

David cancelled his shoot for Rascals and let the three actors go shoot for Ready on Friday. Salman however went to surprise Sanju and Ajay at Hotel Royal Cliff in Pattaya.

Salman told them that he had come to pick them up as they were coming to shoot especially for him. Kangna also joined them and the three actors left for the shoot together in Salman's car."

Producers Bhushan Kumar and Rajat Rawail remained unavailable for comment.

The spokesperson of the film, however, confirmed the incident, telling us, "Yes Ajay, Sanju sir and Kangna did shoot for Ready as Salman wanted them to."

Incidentally, another snippet from Thailand goes like this: It turns out that Kangna landed up at one of Sallu's 'boys only' bashes at his hotel room on Wednesday night, but was promptly shown the door. What rascals!

Asin to sport swimwear

Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 2, which Sajid Khan is directing and stars Akshay Kumar and Asin, holds a quirky surprise for its viewers. For the first time, Asin will don a never-before-seen glamorous avatar.

Our source said, "The whole idea was to make her undergo the same transformation that Aishwarya Rai underwent for Dhoom 2.

That's why they hired the same designer Aki Narula to design for Asin, who will now sport sarongs and sizzling swimwear."

When contacted, Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed the news and said, "Yes it is. The film will be shot at places like Italy and Greece and such costumes are necessary for this script."

Sajid Khan said, "I am very excited about working with Asin; not only is she a very good actor and dancer but also a superstar in the south. Our script demanded her in a new look, which will surprise the audience completely."

Let's wait for the effect it has on Asin's dad.

After inspiring sister Karisma, beau Saif, and friend Amrita, Kareena has managed to get Salman hooked to yoga.

Yoga freak Kareena Kapoor loves to give her yoga gyaan to one and all. The actress has also inspired her co-stars to adopt a healthy lifestyle through yoga, and latest to join the bandwagon is Dabangg boy, Salman Khan.

It is believed that during the shoot of 'Bodygaurd', Kareena motivated Salman to try out yoga. And Sallu enjoyed the yoga sessions so much that he has dropped his weights for the time being, and is busy doing asanas.

According to a source close to the actor, Salman is enjoying his yoga sessions so much that he has now begun giving yoga gyaan to one and all, and has also convinced brothers Sohail and Arbaaz to join him for morning yoga sessions. More the merrier, right?

Who's the new girl in Salman's life?

Salman Khan has been seen often enough with a foreigner these days.

And everyone is guessing just who is the new girl in Salman's life. Well, let us tell you. Apparently, like Katrina Kaif, she is British and her name is Hazel.

Hazel is a part of Salman Khan-starrer 'Bodyguard'. We hear, she and Salman clicked pretty well and have become 'good friends' so much so that Sallu has been taking her around B-town. Units members on the sets of 'Bodyguard' tell us that Salman even takes her for bike rides. "She enjoys bike rides, and in fact even wishes to learn to ride one. But we don't know if Bhai will actually teach her," we are told.

However, close friends of Salman's don't think there's anything special brewing here. "That's Salman Khan for you. It's just his kind nature that he's taking his foreigner friend around town to probably experience life in Mumbai. There's nothing more to it," he said.

No one is my competition: Shazahn

She is hot, young and has got a good headstart in Bollywood. Shazahn Padamsee is certainly a newcomer to watch out for.

This blue-chip girl who joins the league of young talent like Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonam Kapoor, isn't insecure about anyone because she reasons, "No one is my competition. Every one of us has something new to offer. I cannot compete with anyone because she is not the same person as me. She will have something unique. There is enough space for everyone and no one has to go for another's throat."

Rocket Singh didn't set the box office on fire but Shazahn got heads to turn in her debut opposite the charismatic Ranbir Kapoor. The recently released Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji (DTBHJ), has pitchforked her to the list of commercially successful girls in showbiz. "Rocket Singh gave me a great start. A film's collection is in the hands of the audiences but the fact that I managed to make a mark makes me happy. I'm a positive person and I took forward the positioning Rocket Singh gave me," she says.

Shazahn adds, "DTBHJ has given me everything that a youngster like me could have asked for. I have to thank Madhur Bhandarkar for trusting me and mentoring me. It was a big party on the sets. I'm overwhelmed with the response that I have got for this film. I'm in a great space now and hungry to do better work, having already set the benchmark with DTBHJ."

Her striking looks, that are slightly unconventional as compared to the other Bollywood heroines, has been getting her a fair share of compliments. The actress calls herself 'clay that can be easily moulded' into anything. "I'm blessed. I can be a girl-next-door as seen in DTBHJ and I can also be someone who is sexy and oomphy (her men's magazine shoots have set the temperature soaring). I like this about acting. I can be a different person in every single film. The challenge is to do it convincingly. With my acting background, I'm ready for the challenge. I was born to act. My parents (stage and advertising guru Alyque Padamsee and theatre actor-singer Sharon Prabhakar) have been very active in the acting space. I love the stage, the camera and all I want, is to be known as a good actor."

This forward-thinking savvy girl has no reservations about going bold on screen. Says she, "Of course everything will depend on how integral it is to the script and how aesthetically it is shot. I won't show skin just for the sake of it."
