She arrived at Necker Island hand-in-hand with one lover. By the end of their stay she had waltzed off with another.Despite being known for quick turn-rounds in her love life, Kate Winslet’s latest romance with Richard Branson’s nephew Ned must be a new record.
When the 35-year-old actress boarded a flight to the billionaire Virgin tycoon’s £60million private Caribbean island last month, she was pictured with her on-off boyfriend, model Louis Dowler, 35.
Also holidaying on the island, however, were members of the Branson family – and Miss Winslet made headlines when she was called on to rescue Mr Branson’s mother Eve from a burning building during Hurricane Irene.
Among the Bransons was Ned Abel Smith, who rather eccentrically changed his surname to ‘RocknRoll’ by deed poll some years ago.
And it seems he and Miss Winslet ‘hit it off’ to such an extent that when it came to leaving Necker, it was Mr RocknRoll, 33, who accompanied her to New York, where she now lives.
This week the pair were pictured at the memorial service of Mr Branson’s father Ted at the Royal Geographical Society’s headquarters in Kensington, London.
