Jacqueline turns a pin-up girl

Mahesh Bhatt is one of the first filmmakers who re-invented himself with cinema of the sexual kind.

That's when you saw Murder, Jism, Gangster and Raaz tantalise the new age consumer. These movies worked and encouraged by their success, Bhatt is now ready with Murder 2.

Says he, "The sexual deviousness has been restricted to the under currents in the home sphere. Murder 2 dares to journey into the spaces beyond, into narrow gullies, where transvestites, prostitutes, pimps and cross dressers, go to the very edge of life and death to find and give pleasure.''

Mohit Suri, the director, adds, 'The multi-billion dollar sex industry wants you to believe the fantasy that the hot babes with their man-eating eyes which say 'I want you' are for real. But the truth is, they are the greatest illusion manufactured on earth."

Emraan Hashmi, the leading man of this sequel, says, "Shagufta Rafique, who was once a bar dancer herself and the writer of this film, and I had gone to whore houses, strip joints and sleazy massage parlours where women are paid to fake pleasure during our research.'' He adds, "Believe me, they are not having any fun out there. They brainwash the consumer into believing that their lust is real. Who likes being beaten, kicked and being called names, to give some creep pleasure?''

Jacqueline Fernandes, who has replaced Mallika Sherawat plays a pin up girl who clamours for lust and love. "For me, this film is a love story in the middle of the land of sleaze. It feels great to begin 2011 feeling that you have a winner in your armoury," she says.

And the last word on the film comes from producer Mukesh Bhatt. "Murder 2 will hit you like a sledgehammer," he says, flashing a broad (no pun intended) smile.
