Lara Dutta was born in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh to a Punjabi father and an Anglo-Indian mother. Her father is Wing Commander L.K. Dutta (retired) and her mother is Jennifer Dutta. She also has two older sisters, one of whom serves in the Indian Air Force and a well known younger sister.
Lara Dutta, who has joined the bandwagon of Bollywood actresses launching DVDs on fitness, says that yoga plays a vital role in keeping her in shape.
"Fitness has been important to me since my Miss Universe days and yoga plays an important part in my overall fitness regime. A combination of healthy eating and sensible exercising helps keep me looking and feeling great," Dutta told PTI after she launched a DVD—'HEAL with Lara' today.
"I follow five days a week work out plan, combining cardio, strength training, yoga and meditate frequently. I have never followed fad diets," Dutta said.
"It has taken over a year of research and understanding of various body types and requirements to formulate and put together the content on the DVDs. Therein the concept of 'HEAL with Lara', that stands for Health, Exercise and Longevity, was born," she said.
The three DVDs that would be launched over a period of four months are meant to guide people on yoga, meditation, posture, diet or fitness. The DVDs will not just have Dutta doing yoga and her work out videos but also expert advice and suggestions on lifestyle and how to keep fit in today's life.
