Bollywood's blue-eyed girl Aishwarya Rai celebrates her 35th birthday on Saturday.The actress who continues to be at the helm of Bollywood is considered one of the most bankable stars in the film industry.
Aishwarya, now married to actor Abhishek Bachchan, was born in Mangalore to Krishnaraj Rai, a marine biologist, and Vrinda Rai, a writer.
After winning the Miss World title in 1994, Aishwarya took to acting in 1997 with a Tamil film Iruvar opposite southern superstar Mohanlal. She made her Bollywood debut in the same year opposite Bobby Deol in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya.
Since then it has been a rollercoaster ride for the actress.
Post-marriage and a good career, Aishwarya is now excited about teaming up with hubby Abhishek Bachchan for Mani Ratnam's next film. But she is reluctant to reveal much about the movie.
"It's a really exciting thought for me and Abhishek to be coming together again with Mani Ratnam. All I can say about the film is that it goes into a completely different theme from Guru," Aishwarya told IANS.
