Awkward? Madonna to meet mother of toyboy Brahim Zaibat... who is eight years YOUNGER

Meeting your boyfriend's mother is always a nerve wracking experience.

However Madonna has the upper hand in one respect, as she's an amazing eight year's older than the woman in question.

Patricia Vidal, or 'mum' to Madonna's 24-year-old toyboy Brahim Zaibat is 45, while the Material Girl recently celebrated her 53rd birthday.

Madonna started seeing her 24-year-old beau last year, after meeting the French dancer when he performed at a launch party for her clothing line Material Girl.

 

The pair hit it off after Madonna told him that they had compatible star signs, and they were spotted getting intimate while out and about in London clubs soon afterwards.

It's anyone's guess what Brahim will make of the comparison between his superstar girlfriend and  the comparatively youthful Patricia.

Right from the beginning Patricia was none too keen on the match, particularly when the pair's public displays of affection appeared all over the tabloids.

She told the National Enquirer: 'My mouth fell open when I realized that my son was Madonna’s new boyfriend.'

Adjusting to the news was difficult: 'I’m still trying to come to terms with it,' she admitted.

Adjusting has probably been easier for Madonna. Her former boyfriend Jesus Luz's mother was an incredible 14 years younger than the singer.

Another bone of contention for Patricia is the religious difference between the couple. Brahim is a Muslim, while Madonna follows the Kabbalah faith.

This caused a rift between the two in May, when Brahim refused to accompany Madonna to Kabbalah meetings.

But they soon worked things out, and were seen together looking as happy as ever only a month later.

It may not be so easy to convince Patricia, who admitted: 'I certainly wouldn’t say we’re overjoyed by his relationship with a non-Muslim.'

She is probably hoping that Madonna will transfer her affections before things get any more serious.

The Hung Up singer is currently busy judging a contest looking for new dancers to accompany her on her upcoming world tour.

'What attracted me to the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project is the combination of participating in the celebration of nightlife around the world and the opportunity to discover the world's best unknown dancers,' Madonna said.

'The best dancers are always in the clubs looking for the most original experience, just like Smirnoff is doing,' she continued.

It has not been confirmed, but it is possible that the Smirnoff party event will take place in London.

First look: Daniel Radcliffe goes to the dark side in brooding horror film Woman In Black

The teaser trailer for Daniel Radcliffe's first 'grown up' film since Harry Potter has been released...and it's safe to say he's graduated Hogwarts in spooky style.

This two minute taste of The Woman In Black promises a chilling tale, beautifully shot and laden with ghostly ambiance.

The adaption of the classic book and play is directed by Eden Lake's James Watkins, while the script comes from Jane Goldman, the co-screenwriter of Kick Ass and X-Men: First Class.

 

The story follows a young lawyer Arthur Kipps, who travels to a remote house on an island somewhere in Britain to put the last affairs of a deceased client in order.

He is disturbed by the sight of a ghost at the client's funeral, who children can see but refuse to speak of.

The voice continues: 'There are those who believe the whole town is cursed, but the house in the marsh was by far the worst.'

'What she wants is unknown, but she always comes back, the spectre of darkness, the woman in black,' the scary rhyme concludes.

The scenes are shot beautifully, with Radcliffe's pale lawyer reminiscent of Johnny Depp's detective character in Sleepy Hollow.

Restless: The ghost's unfinished business tears the town apart

The barest glimpses of the ghost are frightening enough in themselves.

And Radcliffe has promised that the film won't disappoint for scares.

'It's going to be terrifying, and at the test screening they had, apparently people were leaping out of their seats terrified, so I think it's just going to be a really, really good movie,' the 22-year-old told MTV News.

The Woman In Black is due for release February 12, 2012.

The girl in question, the Daily Mail can reveal, is Rosanne Coker, a 22-year-old painter and decorator’s daughter.

She first met Radcliffe when she worked as a production assistant on Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince in 2007.

The pair then began dating a year ago and Miss Coker splits her time between her family’s £400,000 home in Surrey and Radcliffe’s luxury apartment in New York.  

The couple were seen walking together in the city earlier this week. Radcliffe wore a plain blue T-shirt and shorts while his comprehensive school-educated girlfriend – known to friends as Rose – opted for black leggings, a lilac vest and a pair of flip-flops. 

With a fortune estimated at £48milllion, Radcliffe, also 22, has been regarded as one of Britain’s most eligible bachelors.

Miss Coker’s father Malcolm runs his own painting and decorating business, while her mother Gillian is believed to design birthday cards.

He said: ‘I don’t want to say too much really as they would really prefer to keep things quiet. 

‘But Rosanne has worked on the last three Harry Potter films, so she and Daniel have known each other quite a long time. But they have been going out for just over a year now. 

‘I have met Daniel and he is a lovely guy. I’m just really happy for Rosanne and as long as she is happy that is all that matters to me.

A former acquaintance recalled: ‘Rosanne was very sporty at school. She was on the netball team and was very popular and had a lot of friends. She was also very clever and got really good grades. She was just a really nice person.’

At the time, some reports erroneously claimed the mystery woman was Olive Uniacke, 20, his close friend and the stepdaughter of Harry Potter producer David Heyman.  

Radcliffe has only gone public with one girlfriend since starring in the first Harry Potter film in 2001. In 2007, it emerged that he was dating Irish actress Laura O’Toole, now 26, after meeting during the West End stage play Equus, but the couple split in early 2008. 

In 2010 he was seen spending time with Miss Uniacke but later that year he also admitted he wasn’t having  much luck with the ladies. ‘I’m not getting too many responses, but, yes, I’m having a go,’ he said of his attempts to find a girlfriend.

Supreme Court lifts Uttar Pradesh ban on 'Aarakshan'

The Supreme Court Friday "quashed and set aside" the two-month ban imposed by the Uttar Pradesh government on the screening of filmmaker Prakash Jha's " Aarakshan".

An apex court bench of Justice M. Sharma and Justice Anil R. Dave said the state government cannot seek deletion of certain potions of the film as this amounted to censorship.

The court said once the Central Board of Film Certification cleared the public screening of a film, no state government can raise objections on its content.

Referring to the Uttar Pradesh government's contention that reservation was a very delicate issue and certain scenes in "Aarakshan" had the potential of affecting the law and order situation, the court said it could not agree with this as the film is being shown all over the country, including in the states which are sensitive to reservation.

"Aarakshan", starring Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, deals with caste-based reservations in the Indian education system.

Speaking on plastic not being eco friendly, the designer clarified, "I am not going to make many pieces like these. It was just something I thought was creative. "

Swapnil's brilliant plastic outfit indeed became the highlight of Day 2 of the Lakme Fashion Week.

Murder 2 Actress Jacqueline to portray negative role

Murder 2 girl Jacqueline seems to be in love with sequels. That's probably why after Murder 2 and Housefull 2, she is keen on taking up Krissh 2. The actor is likely to replace Chitrangada Singh as a female mutant in Rakesh Roshan's Krissh sequel.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, “The meeting with Jacqueline stretched for over three hours. They discussed the script and the actress was quite keen. By the end, both Hrithik and Rakesh seemed to be quite positive about her.”

Rakesh Roshan confirms that Chitrangada indeed has stepped out of the film. He told the tabloid, “I was to start my film in October and took dates accordingly. Now, the film is going on floors in December and Chitrangda is having some problems with her dates then. She has already committed her dates to some other project in December and cannot delay it. So I am looking for some actor who can give the dates according to my schedule.”

But rumour mills suggest something else. Reportedly, Chirangada opted out because her role was smaller than expected. The actor thought the role was that of a main female villain, but it actually turned out to be a cameo.

SRK studying history with daughter

He has often been labelled as the perfect family man and actor Shah Rukh Khan makes sure that he keeps up the track record. The 45-year-old actor for the past few days has been spending time at home with his children-- studying history and learning to talk with a parrot.

"Been reading Tagore, writing phone numbers to call that I have ignored for months, studying history with Suhana. Learning to talk with a parrot. Counting blessings. Teaching namaz to children. Growing hair with a vengeance," he wrote on Twitter. 

King Khan will next be seen in Anubhav Sinha directed sci-fi film, 'Ra.One' which is in its post-production stage and the actor is excited as well as nervous ahead of the release.

"Sorry been away for a bit. Been in dark rooms with light banter. post production Ra.One swinging as much as the ball in england tests. nervous...happy...elated...confused...all the feelings surround as the film reaches its final leg," he said.

Ra.One also stars Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal and is being produced under Khan's production company, Red Chillies Entertainment. The film will hit the theatres on October 26.

No tiff between Kareena, Katrina: Siddique

Mumbai: With the Salman Khan-starrer Bodyguard, South film director Siddique makes his foray into Hindi cinema. The director and his films that make coffee table conversation in every South Indian movie buff's living room, Siddique is sighing in relief that the Bollywood version of Bodyguard is now all set to hit the marquee. 

In an exclusive interview with IBNLive, the award-winning director confesses that after making Bodyguard in Malayalam, Tamil and now in Hindi, he is a tad bit bored of the subject.

And that is the reason he will not be directing the same film in Kannada. "Now, I want to expand my work. Though the Hindi version of Bodyguard has a lot of different elements than its original version, I don't think that I can make a better version than this Salman-starrer." 

For a debut director in Bollywood, Siddique admits there couldn't have been a better opportunity than being able to rope in Salman Khan to play the male lead in the movie. 

Apart from Salman's acting prowess and mass appeal, the director is also confident that the film's tried and tested popularity and techniques will work well for him in Bollywood. He points out, "I am confident of my subject. I have a very good star cast. 

The film has been made well and the action sequence is great. All in all, Bodyguard is a great Bollywood package."

After Salman's former girlfriend Katrina Kaif gyrated to Sheila ki Jawani in Tees Maar Khan, it was her turn again to shake the booty in an item number in Bodyguard. It is quite interesting to learn from the director that it was actually Salman Khan himself who decided that none other than Katrina should feature in the item number titled Aaya Re Aaya. 

The director also rubbishes rumours that Bodyguard's leading lady Kareena Kapoor was apparently miffed about Katrina featuring in the film. 

Siddique clarifies, "It was Salman who decided that Katrina Kaif was to do the item number in Bodyguard. Anyways, it is a small portion in the film." He adds, "I don't think there is any tiff between Kareena and Katrina. It is just a song that Katrina features in. Kareena is the leading lady in Bodyguard and I don't think she is bothered by any other thing." 

Even before its release, Siddique is confident that Bodyguard will work wonders at the box office. The director also accepts that currently, Salman Khan is an actor with a Midas touch in Bollywood. All of Salman's recent films - Ready, Dabangg, Chillar Party (which he co-produced) have raked in the moolah. The director says, "I feel so lucky that for a first-time director in Bollywood like me, Salman is my leading man."

Eva Longoria rep denies wedding plans

Eva Longoria’s representative has dismissed reports the actress is preparing to wed new boyfriend Eduardo Cruz.

The Desperate Housewives star began dating Penelope Cruz's brother following her split from basketball star husband Tony Parker in November.

A report in America's OK! magazine suggested the smitten couple was planning to marry, claiming, "Friends feel the pair is ready to wed, and this time Eva will have her fairy-tale ending."

But Longoria's rep has been quick to shoot down the wedding rumours, telling GossipCop.com the report is "not true".

Gwyneth Paltrow ‘saved a life’ on 9/11

Gwyneth Paltrow inadvertently saved the life of a woman heading to work in New York's Twin Towers on the fateful morning of 9/11 - the actress almost ran the finance employee over in her car as she dashed across a road.

Lara Lundstrom Clarke was rushing to the subway station to catch her train to downtown Manhattan on September 11, 2001, when she had a close call after stepping into the road without looking.

She recalls, "It was one of those mornings that felt good, you had a little skip in your step... Then all of the sudden, a silver Mercedes SUV came barreling down towards me. I stopped and they (the car) screeched to a halt."

Clarke made eye contact with the driver - and was stunned to see the blonde behind the wheel of the vehicle was Hollywood star Paltrow.

The brief delay caused the then-24 year old to miss her train. She arriving late for work at the World Trade Centre station just moments after the first of two hijacked planes had been flown into the Big Apple landmark by terrorists.

Clarke tells TheMortonReport.com, "At that time I was annoyed at everything that had made me late that day, including Gwyneth Paltrow... (But) if I had made that train I would have been at my desk on the 77th floor of 2 World Trade Center."

She wrote a letter to Paltrow detailing her experience on the morning of the terrorist attacks and the actress' publicist reveals the star was "deeply moved" by the story.

Anne Hathaway gangsta raps

Actress Anne Hathaway has explained the reason behind her gangsta rap on late night U.S. TV earlier this week - she's taken to writing rhymes to exercise her anger at the paparazzi.

The Devil Wears Prada star stunned viewers of Conan O'Brien's talk show on Tuesday when she took aim at the snappers with a verse "in the style of Lil Wayne".

She rapped, "I'm a paparazzi/I don't play no Yahtzee/I go pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop/My camera's up your crotch..."

The clip has since gone viral and Hathaway reveals she is constantly channelling her fury at the photographers who follow her every move into similar rhymes.

In an interview on America's Today show on Thursday, she said, "I've now had to start to deal with the paparazzi presence a bit more in my life. It's not something I ever expected to encounter so I don't wanna be angry about it, I don't wanna have negative feelings about it, I just wanna get them out so I just started to write rap lyrics about it 'cause that's just the way it came out."

But Hathaway admits it was never meant to be performed in public - until the comedian's producers learned of her rapping skills and thought it would make for good TV.

She added, "I did it for my friends and they all laughed so when the producers at Conan asked me to do it - because I'd mentioned in an interview that I write songs to make me feel better sometimes - the producer said, 'Would you do it?' and I said, 'Yes'."

Kat Von D, James engaged again

Celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D is back with Sandra Bullock's ex-husband Jesse James.

Von D's LA Ink show was cancelled on Thursday after she reportedly told producers and network executives she no longer wanted to appear on the show.

Hours after the news broke, James told People.com he and his ex are engaged again after splitting last month.

He said, "Sometimes you are only given one chance in life... It was up to me to open my eyes and see it. That girl is my chance. I will never stop fighting and striving to hold on to her. Showing her how special she is, and how much I love her."

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Jolie sued arrested reporter

James Desborough, a News Corp reporter arrested in Britain Thursday in a spreading phone hacking scandal, was no stranger to controversy when he led News of the World’s Hollywood bureau.

British police said they had arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications, and a source with knowledge of the situation identified the individual as Desborough.

It was the 13th arrest this year in an inquiry that has rocked News of the World’s parent company, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, and has had far-reaching implications for the British establishment.

U.S. agencies are investigating whether News of the World’s phone-hacking activities extended to the United States. So far, they have disclosed no evidence that they did.

Desborough could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Daisy Dunlop, a spokeswoman for News International, News Corp’s British newspaper arm, told Reuters the company was “cooperating fully with the police” and could not comment further due to the investigation.

A source familiar with the situation said Desborough was being questioned by British police about activities that occurred before he moved in 2009 to Los Angeles, where he was an editor.

His U.S. stories have aroused controversy, although there has been no allegation of illegal activity.

A Desborough story in the recently shuttered British tabloid said actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were about to split. The couple sued News Corp, won an apology and  settlement, and News of the World publicly acknowledged the story was wrong.

Shortly before Murdoch closed the tabloid last month, Desborough wrote a story about the alleged sexual activities of movie star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. A Schwarzenegger spokesman called the story false.

According to the story, the information on Schwarzenegger came from a dossier compiled by disgraced Hollywood private eye Anthony Pellicano, who is now serving a prison sentence for illegal wiretapping.

APOLOGY TO BRAD AND ANGELINA

Desborough joined News of the World in 2005 as a show business and news reporter and was promoted to U.S. editor, based in Los Angeles, in 2009. He worked for News of the World until it closed.

The arrest occurred after he arrived at a south London police station Thursday morning by appointment.

Desborough won the British Press Awards showbiz reporter of the year award in 2009. After moving to Los Angeles, he wrote a story in January 2010 saying Pitt and Jolie agreed to divide their fortune equally and and share their children.

The story cited an unidentified source who described a legal document signed by the couple that would govern the breakup.

The couple said the claims were false and demanded a retraction of the story. News of the World settled for an undisclosed sum.

“We now accept that our story was wrong and apologise to Brad and Angelina,” the paper wrote in July 2010.

An attorney for the couple could not be reached for comment.

After news broke in May that Schwarzenegger fathered a child with his maid, Desborough wrote a story detailing Schwarzenegger’s alleged taste in women.

News of the World story attributed its reporting to a “bombshell dossier” put together by Pellicano.

“These are absurd tabloid reports that are totally false,” a spokesman for Schwarzenegger said of the News of the World story.

It is unclear how Desborough obtained the alleged documents. Pellicano was sentenced to 15 years in prison at the end of 2008, before Desborough took up his posting in Los Angeles.

The story also quoted an investigator who worked for Pellicano, but did not name that person.

In a jailhouse interview with Newsweek earlier this month, Pellicano said he had “personal stuff” on Schwarzenegger but did not say whether he knew about Schwarzenegger’s child with the maid.

American actor Justin Theroux will never marry actress-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston, says his close friend Craig Warden.

Theroux began dating Aniston earlier this year and there have been reports that the couple are set to tie the knot very soon.

However, Warden insists that the actor, who was with girlfriend Heidi Bivens for 14 years before dating Aniston, is not the kind of person who will get married.

"Justin will never marry her. He's not the marrying type - as you can see from the 14-year relationship he was in that didn't end in marriage. He is not the kind of guy to be owned," contactmusic.com quoted Warden as saying.

"Jen is the complete opposite of Justin. She's all about Malibu and shopping and trying to stay young while Justin is about being an artist. The last place Jen would want to go in New York would be a dive bar," he added.

Genelia, Rana are "just good friends"

Southern hottie Rana Daggubati and Genelia D'Souza, who are shooting for their movie Naa Ishtam, seem to have developed a soft spot for each other.

There's buzz on the sets that the duo has grown quite close and can now officially use that oft-quoted line of  being "just good friends."

This is the second time that the Rana has been linked to a B-Town actress. Previously, Rana was reportedly close to Bipasha Basu while they were shooting for Dum Maro Dum in Goa. Genelia on the other hand has an immaculate image and has been with Riteish Deshmukh ever since their first film together, Tujhe Meri Kasam, in 2003.

Kim postpones honeymoon plans

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who will marry rocker Kris Humphries on August 20, won't be able to go for honeymoon any time soon because of her busy work schedule.

"With her work schedule it's the earliest she can get away. Kris is not over the moon," femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source is saying. 

The couple will tie the knot at a $20 million mansion in Santa Barbara, California, which is owned by former Google chief executive officer Eric Schmidt.

Only two more days to go for Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries wedding and the bride to-be looked anxious and preoccupied leaving Vera Wang's Boutique in Beverley Hills, ANI reported. Wearing a summery white blouse and khaki shorts, the bride-to-be failed to crack a smile as she rushed past the crowd into the boutique to meet the veteran designer.

Kardashian’s sister Khloe, who is acting as the co-maid of honour alongside Kourtney had also arrived at the boutique a short while before the socialite arrived to try the custom creation by the famous wedding gown designer for her D-day, costing over 30,000 pounds.

Tabloids claim that the Kim-Kris wedding could overtake the Kate-William royal wedding in terms of popularity.

Kim Kardashian is unlike other brides who worry about breakouts and cold feet on their wedding day. Kardashian, reportedly, has other more pressing worries.

"I was so nervous to walk down the aisle by myself," she said at a backstage interview at the VH1 Do Something Awards. "For some reason I wasn't thinking, like, 'Oh, Bruce [Jenner] will be there right with me,' so I was thinking, 'I'm gonna fall, I'm gonna faint, oh my God, my train!'"

After fire department officials visited the venue of the wedding in Montecito, Kim had to cut her celeb guest list down by 50 guests.

“The fire marshal got involved," a source revealed, "Once the fire department learned about all the TV equipment that’s going to be inside the space — the lights, the cameras and the production crew — Kim was told she had to cut the guest list by 50 people!”

So Kim had to phone some friends and tell them that they're not invited anymore!

Last minute drama aside, Kim has set the colour theme for her wedding as black and white. Guests are expected to come dressed in monochromatic colours to fit in. 

"Kim knows better than anyone how to stay dramatic and there is no way she would let herself blend in with everyone else at her wedding by wearing a white dress," a source told HuffingtonPost.com, "If I know her, I bet she will wear red or some color so she pops against everyone else who will be in black or white."

The couple has reportedly postponed their dream honeymoon due to work commitments that will be starting within days of the wedding.

Kardashian is set to begin filming ‘Kim And Kourtney Take New York Season Two’ in less than a week's time, which means that the couple will have to rush back to the East Coast straight away.
