Gwyneth Paltrow compares hubby to Pablo Picasso

Gwyneth Paltrow has compared her husband Chris Martin to Pablo Picasso.

The 'Glee' actress says her Coldplay frontman husband - who she married in 2003 - is a "musical genius" and asking him for tips on singing would be like approaching the legendary Spanish artist for painting advice.

She told American Elle magazine: "[He's] a musical genius. It's like living with Picasso and being like, 'Should I make a little something-something?'"

While Chris is a notoriously private person and often refuses to be photographed with his spouse, Gwyneth - who has two kids Apple, seven and five-year-old Moses with him - says she can understand why he doesn't want to be known as part of a celebrity couple.

She explained: "He makes music for his fans, and he doesn't want people to conjure a lame famous couple when they're getting into his music. I get it."

Gwyneth also revealed she loves "inspiring" people through her lifestyle newsletter GOOP and is delighted when people approach her for tips.

She said: "What I love is inspiring people. People come up to me and say, 'I want to have two kids and wear a bathing suit and not feel terrible about myself. I see how hard you work, and it makes me feel like I can do that too.

Lea Michele likes her unique looks

Lea Michele refused to have a nose job because she likes her unique looks.

The 'Glee' actress was advised to undergo a procedure to alter the unusual shape of her nose when she was first starting out but revealed she was determined to prove her detractors wrong.

She told American Harper's Bazaar: "I'm five foot three. I don't look like a lot of other people. I look like I'm 12. Managers told me, 'Get a nose job. You are not pretty enough'. But I proved them wrong."

However, Lea's 'Glee' co-star Dianna Agron has confessed she had her nose fixed after breaking it twice, once after getting caught up in the middle of an argument at a high school party and again years later.

She told chat show host David Letterman: "The first time I didn't go to the doctor because I didn't want to tell my mom what had happened and she would never let me out of the house.

"The second time I couldn't get it fixed because we were in the middle of doing this concert tour and we were filming. We had a day off and I met up with some of my friends and we were dancing. And again, there was another collision of sorts - I must be turning too quickly, people don't see me coming or something - but it's fixed now!"

Andrew Garfield's sleepover with Emma Stone

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone enjoyed a sleepover at a West Hollywood bar last week.

The British actor - who split with girlfriend of three years Shannon Woodward in May - became close to the flame-haired beauty on the set of 'The Amazing Spider-Man' in which they both star and although they have tried to keep their relationship quiet, they were spotted at the bar where they shared drinks and snacks before Andrew paid by telling the waiter "Put it on my room".

Witnesses told Usmagazine.com the pair -who have tried to keep their relationship "hush-hush" - took the elevator to one of the rooms upstairs.

Andrew - who plays the titular character in the forthcoming Marvel comic movie prequel - broke up with 'Raising Hope' actress Shannon after filming on 'The Amazing Spider-Man' took up so much of his time.

A source said: "They drifted apart as Andrew got deeper into filming 'The Amazing Spider-Man'; he literally never saw her.

"Shannon is telling people they're on a break but they haven't spoken to each other in weeks."

However, he has previously insisted his life is dull and he would never change because of his new-found Hollywood fame.

He said: "There's nothing interesting about my life.

"Like, I'm not stumbling out of clubs at four in the morning, you know? So there's absolutely no reason for that to happen."

Russell Brand to star in 'Lamb of God'

British comedian Russell Brand will reportedly star in a new comedy drama " Lamb of God".

The film tells the story of a young conservative religious woman who loses her faith following a crash.

As she recovers from serious burns, she heads to Las Vegas to indulge in a life she's always been warned against. During her time in Vegas, the woman befriends both a crap dealer and a bartender named William, the role Brand is being lined up for, contactmusic.com reports.

The film will be directed by Diablo Cody.

Naomi Campbell is engaged?

Naomi Campbell hinted that she is engaged to boyfriend Vladislav Doronin when she blew up 50,000 pounds on fireworks while holidaying on the island of Crete in Greece. The supermodel told the guests it was time to celebrate their little secret.

"Naomi and her boyfriend set of a 50,000 pounds worth of fireworks over a 20-minute period," femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

"She was brimming with excitement and hinted they were engaged. She was telling guests it was time to celebrate their 'little secret'. Naomi had the most incredible ring on. Everyone was commenting on how genuinely excited she seemed," the source added.

The 41-year-old gets attracted to people who know their own minds and that Doronin falls in that category.

"I like men that are strong. I like strong men that know what they want, know what they are doing, that tell me what to do. I cannot tell Vlad what to do," she said.

Taylor Lautner's lasting Twilight friendships

Taylor Lautner will be friends with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson "forever".

The hunky actor - who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the 'Twilight Saga'franchise - revealed the best thing about being a part of the movie series was getting to know Kristen (Bella Swan) and Robert (Edward Cullen) and says the three of them will always remain close.

He told Hollywoodlie.com: "My parting gifts were our friendships, lifelong friendships. We all get along great. We're definitely going to continue spending time together. Whether we're promoting these movies or whatever.

"There were tears on the last days, from everyone. I was the one who predicted it was actually going to be emotional on the last day."

Taylor has previously revealed he had mixed emotions about the end of the franchise.

He said: "I think it's mixed emotions, for sure.

"Half of me says, 'This is a relief. I get some time off, I get to spend some time with family and friends and do other things,' but the other half says, 'This is so weird.' I've been filming with these people for years, so it's definitely a bummer."

Ashton Kutcher's Two and a Half Men character revealed

Ashton Kutcher will play broken hearted internet billionaire Walden Schmidt on 'Two and a Half Men'.

The actor - who replaced Charlie Sheen earlier this year after the star had a spectacular falling out with creator Chuck Lorre - will make his debut in the sitcom's season nine two-part premiere on September 19.

After revealing the details about Ashton's character, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler told TVline.com: "The great news is the show will be as irreverent as it's always been. There is great value in hiring an actor like Ashton Kutcher. He is extraordinarily professional, talented, gifted actor who comes with a tremendous amount of commitment and enthusiasm."

However, Nina appeared to rule out an appearance by Charlie in future episodes, adding: "Charlie has moved on to greener pastures. He's obviously got a lot of opportunity on his plate."

While there has been no confirmation on how Charlie's character, Charlie Harper, will leave the show, it is believed the season premiere will feature his funeral.

The lothario is set to be killed off and his funeral attended by a host of former girlfriends, his brother Alan (( Jon Cryer)) and nephew Jake (Angus T. Jones).

Ashton's character will then buy Charlie's luxurious beachfront condominium after a number of buyers - including a selection of celebrity guest stars - view the property but Alan and Jake will remain living there despite Charlie's death.

Oprah Winfrey to receive honorary Oscar

Oprah Winfrey is set to receive an honorary Oscar.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the chat show host - who received an honorary degree in June from the University of the Free State in South Africa - will be awarded with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in recognition of her extensive charity work.

The 57-year-old American - who supports a number of good causes, including Academy for Girls in South Africa, as well as her namesake foundations - will be presented with the accolade on November 12 at the third annual Governors Awards dinner and ceremony at the Hollywood & Highland Center.

Oprah was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Steven Spielberg's 'The Color Purple', in which she made her film debut in 1985, and she now runs her own TV network after 25 years of presenting her self-titled US talk show, which came to an end in May.

Actor James Earl Jones - who has appeared in more than 50 movies, which has seen him provide the voice of Darth Vader, as well as starring in 'Scary Movie 4' and 'Patriot Games' - and make-up artist Dick Smith, NBC's first make-up artist when he began his career in 1945, will also be awarded with honorary Oscars for their outstanding careers.

I didn't walk the ramp as showstopper twice for money: Zarine Khan

What can one say about the exclusivity of being a showstopper, one who absolutely defines the theme behind a jewellery designer's collection. But then, looks like actress Zarine Khan felt this way strongly about not one but two designers. She walked as the showstopper for Johara Jewels by Divya Ahuja on Day 2 of the India International Jewellery Week in Mumbai. And then surprised everyone by showing up again on Day 3 for Dwarakadas Chandumal Diamonds. Naturally, people started to talk and many even objected.

Was it money, asked fashionistas, for such an indignified act. "If it was for money, I would've taken to the ramp for all five days," Zarine shot back. Then it must be the love for jewellery (yeah, sure). "Both the jewellers so wanted me to their showstopper than I finally said yes to both," she clarified.

All we say is Well done girl. You have truly misunderstood the meaning of a showstopper. But then as long as the moolah's coming in, who cares, isn't it.

Katrina Kaif prefers Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan over Ranbir Kapoor

Actress Katrina Kaif has chosen to work with current reigning star Salman Khan and Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan over Ranbir Kapoor.

Katrina had to refuse filmmaker Ayan Mukherjee of ''Wake Up Sid'' fame, a project which is to be produced by Karan Johar, citing unavailability of dates. 

Reportedly, Ranbir was part of it.

According to sources, in spite of trying to work dates for close friend Karan''s film , Katrina had to opt out of the film due to prior commitments. Katrina was very keen on working with Karan but could not rework the dates to allot for the film.

Presently, Katrina is working around her schedule with ex-beau Salman''s film, ''Ek Tha Tiger'' and next with Aditya Chopra''s untitled film with Shahrukh.

"Katrina had to turn down the film with Karan and Ayan, both of whom she is very close to. She tried her best to accommodate the dates but it was not possible, since she had already committed to ''Ek Tha Tiger'' and Aditya''s film with Shahrukh. She does however look forward to working with them in the near future," a friend of Katrina said.

Rana Daggubati to romance Kangana

After wowing audiences with her performance in Tanu Weds Manu, Kangana Ranaut is set to do another love story titled Kris And Suri. This time, she romances southern star Rana Daggubati.

It is third time lucky for the pair who missed out on working with each other in Dum Maaro Dum and Department.

Confirms a source, "Though Rana Daggubati is shooting for Department and Kangana is tied up with I Luv NY and the Ishqiya sequel, both loved the script so much that they readily gave dates for the film. It goes on the floors in October."

The film, directed by Rajshree Ojha and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd, will have a very international and urban vibe to it.

A source connected with the film reveals, "People who have loved Kangna in Tanu Weds Manu are going to love this film even more. It's a very different take on love. Also, Kangana will be given a very modern look in this one. The director was really keen to cast Kangana opposite Rana. She was keeping her fingers crossed since the efforts to bring the two together in the past have failed terribly."

A source close to Kangana adds, "Kangana had a lot of fun doing Tanu Weds Manu and she got tremendous response for the film. She was looking forward to another sweet love story to come her way."

While the actress remained unavailable for comment, Rana said, "I'm working on two films currently, Department and Naa Ishtam (Telugu). I haven't signed anything else as yet."

Big B upset with Mayawati diktat on Aarakshan

Amitabh Bachchan and director Prakhash Jha have been told they cannot meet with students in Lucknow on Thursday to discuss their new film, Aarakshan.

Mr Bachchan is one of the stars of the movie which examines the issue of reservation based on caste. Currently in Patna to promote the film, Mr Bachchan tweeted several times to express his disappointment:

"And now the bad news .. our Lucknow trip tomorrow cancelled because the U.P administration withdraws all permission to conduct promo."

"The administration does not allow us to enter the city..unofficial reports by police say they have instructions to arrest us if we do."

"They say it is a sensitive subject and do not want us to enter the city even...without even seeing the film, duly Censored ?? Strange"

Mr Bachchan then tweets that Delhi would be the next stop for the film's promotion.

"But we must follow the law of the land .. and the principles that our Constitution is based on .. will go straight to Delhi now."

Mayawati's government had said that the discussion with students could pose a potential law and order problem. In a letter, officials said that the scheduled meeting at Lucknow University could provoke protests by political parties.

The film also stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Manoj Bajpai. It releases on August 12.

"My film is not political at all; it is based on the status of higher education in our country today. But I don't know there is some kind of apprehension; there are leaders who are worried about the outcome of the film. Nobody has contacted me, or asked me to show the film. The Censor Board has already seen it and approved it," said director Prakash Jha.

Lara Dutta wants baby tips from Bachchans

Lara Dutta Bhupathi has just confirmed her pregnancy. The Bhupathis, Lara and Mahesh, join the Jr Bachchans, Abhishek and Aishwarya, in Bollywood's parents-to-be club.

On Twitter, Abhishek tweeted wishes to Lara: "paaji! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! welcome on board."

To which Lara tweeted: "Thank you so much ab! You'll will be sorted by the time our turn comes, will call for tips!! :-)

Looks like two sets of excited parents would soon be exchanging notes.

Earlier, Lara had acknowledged wishes from fans and friends, tweeting: Thank you so much for all ur wishes and prayers. Its an awesome time in life right now and Mahesh and I r both very excited abt the baby!:-)

1,008 heads shaved in prayers for Rajinikanth

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth will pay homage to his fans who shaved off their heads at the Palani temple in Tamil Nadu for his speedy recovery.

Two days ago, 1,008 men tonsured their heads as an offering to Lord Murugan at Palani temple in Tamil Nadu for the actor's speedy recovery.

The Boss is so touched by the act that he plans to visit the temple soon to pay his respects to the lord and his fans.

A source says, "Rajini sir is feeling much better now. When he heard about these fans, he was overwhelmed by their gesture. He surely plans to go to the temple when he is fit enough to travel."

The admirers, members of various Rajinikanth fan clubs across Tamil Nadu, apparently held a mass head shaving ceremony. They also underwent a 48-day fast before they went to the temple. This is not the first time Rajini mania has unleashed itself in full force.

Before the release of Endhiran (Robot), the same number of women visited the same temple carrying vessels of milk as offering for the success of the film. Interestingly, all their prayers seem to have been answered, as the team of Rana has finally zeroed in on a date to resume shooting with Rajini.

Adds director K S Ravikumar, "I met Rajini Sir and our shooting will begin by October." The film will go on floors on October 3 at Ramoji Studios in Hyderabad, where two different sets of a palace and a ship are already being constructed.

Adds the source, "It is a period film and there are a lot of logistics. This might end up being Rajnikanth's most expensive film. Also, A R Rahman has finished composing four songs for the film and most probably they will resume shooting the song sequences first."

Salman & SRK together!

Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are archrivals and who would have thought you could see the two together in this lifetime. But if sources are to be believed, the two Khans may be part of one film. Kanika Dhillon's book - Bombay Duck is a Fish - is being considered by several production companies, and will be made into a motion picture! Having a storyline that can be easily milked to suit cinematic sensibilities, the book revolves around Neki Brar, a girl who quits everything and comes to Bollywood to become a director!

We are told that while Shah Rukh Khan (who launched Kanika Dhillon's book) surely has a role for himself in this one, even the likes of Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor are going to be part of the film venture. Well, it's interesting to note that Kanika herself was an assistant director and worked in 'Om Shanti Om' with Farah Khan, besides being an integral part of SRK's 'Ra.One'. So, we do understand the Shah Rukh Khan connection, but just how is she going to crack and manage a coup of getting Salman Khan on board is what's to be seen.

I'm a diehard Priyanka fan: Shraddha Kapoor

Newcomer Shraddha Kapoor is taking baby steps in the industry and guess who she idolizes? She takes inspiration from Priyanka Chopra's acting and when it comes to style, Sonam Kapoor is her favourite.

"I am a diehard Priyanka Chopra fan. She has got this amazing energy, it's very intoxicating and style-wise Sonam Kapoor has a fantastic sense. She doesn't hesitate from experimenting," said Shraddha, daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor. She debuted with Teen Patti last year.

"Among men, Hrithik Roshan makes a statement every time and they are very individualistic," the young actress told reporters at the ongoing India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) where she was the showstopper for Anmol Jewellers.

Dressed in a pink lehenga teamed with white embellished choli, designed by Manish Malhotra, she flaunted elaborate gemstones and diamond jewelleries on the ramp.

Sporting two brands--Anmol Jewellers and Manish Malhotra--was a double high for Shraddha.

"I am feeling extremely divine in the jewellery I am wearing. The pieces I am wearing are exquisite. I enjoy more and more every time I walk the ramp. This is the first time I am wearing Manish Malhotra and I am very thrilled. Anmol Jewellers and Manish Malhotra, a double high for me," said Shraddha who was also seen in the movie Luv Ka The End.

Talking about the costume that Manish gave to Shraddha, the designer said: "I think what is important for a jewellery fashion week is to make a very believable and wearable outfit. She is wearing two neck-pieces but there are no earrings. It was all about looking pretty and simple."

Anmol Jewellers showcased jewelleries made with uncut diamonds along with precious coloured gemstones in both traditional and contemporary designs.

Zarine Khan the latest to be linked with guide Salman Khan

After the lukewarm response Veer received, Salman Khan has re-launched Zarine Khan in a sexy item number Character Dheela in Ready. This development was news enough for the rumour mills to go abuzz with a possible romance between Salman and Zarine. But such talks have not stopped Sallu bhai from helping Zarine to create a foothold in Bollywood.

Sallu takes Zarine along to parties and is also helping the actress get good roles. "I accompany Salman to parties because I don't know anyone in Bollywood except him. I am not in touch with other people from the industry, hence Salman takes me with him. Attending parties helps me to know new people. I am a very friendly person and get along easily with people once I get to know them," Zarine said.

Zarine doesn't care much about talks of her being linked up with the pocket Hercules. "It is not just me; any girl who is accompanying Salman or is seen with him ends up being linked with him. So it is not the first time, hence I don't take these things seriously," Zarine concludes.

The buzz is also doing the round that Zarine has been signed by Sajid Nadiadwala for Housefull 2.

Deepika Padukone goes all out against infidelity on a reality show

Deepika Padukone has all of a sudden become very vocal about the issue of infidelity. And the platform she chose to voice her views about the same was the TV show Emotional Atyachar. "If you cannot be loyal then don't be in a relationship, stop hurting people who love you," said Deepika while watching the cheats on the show.

Deepika was accompanied by filmmaker Prakash Jha, who had come on the show to promote his film Aarakshan. Well, we don't know if Deepika was warning the cheat on the show or was hinting at one of her real life boyfriends.

Aarakshan is a socio-political drama based on one of the most controversial policies of caste based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions.

Kareena Kapoor to dance to composer Salman Khan tune

Kareena Kapoor is all set to dance to Salman Khan's tune now. Salman, after all, has turned composer for their upcoming biggie Bodyguard, for a special rain song that will see Kareena do an oomphy jig in a wet orange sari.

The song, Teri Meri Prem Kahani, marks Salman's unofficial debut as a music director in Hindi films. The buzz is that the superstar is not too keen to have his name featured in the credits as a composer for Bodyguard. "The sexy number featuring Kareena and Salman was shot over the weekend in Mumbai's Film City. The makers plan to use the song during the end credits of the film," a unit source of the film said.

Incidentally, Kareena's wet orange sari look bears resemblance to her image in Zoobie Doobie, the rain song she did in the blockbuster 3 Idiots. Bodyguard, produced by Salman's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, has been in the news ever since it was launched over who composes music for the film. Initially, Bollywood's flavour of the season Pritam was signed up to score the film's music.

By the time Pritam finished composing his first song for Bodyguard, came the news that Salman had patched up with friend-turned-foe Himesh Reshammiyya. As a goodwill gesture, Salman invited Himesh to compose the remaining songs of the film, though he decided to retain Pritam's number too.

Finally, with only the rain song remaining, Salman said that he would compose the number. The buzz is that Salman came up with the basic tune and then sat down with Himesh for over two hours to finalise the song.

Over the recent past, Salman has been increasingly involved in various aspects of filmmaking beyond acting. He scripted his last year's dud Veer. Earlier this year, he is said to have ghost-edited the blockbuster Ready. And last month, he officially turned producer with the kiddie flick Chillar Party. Beyond Bollywood, apart from running his NGO Being Human, Salman is also an active painter.

Bodyguard is Salman's big Eid release this year. Over the past couple of years, the Eid weekend has been lucky for the actor, with Wanted in 2009 and Dabangg in 2010 ending up as blockbusters after opening around the auspicious day.

Recently, Salman's 'good friend' Katrina Kaif did a special item number for the film. The dance, featuring Katrina along with Salman, was picturised on the title song of the film, Aaya Re Aaya Bodyguard. Meanwhile, reports coming in suggest Salman and Atul are racing against time to complete the film on time for its release on August 31.

"The post-production has been slightly delayed because Salman has been extremely busy with various activities over the past few weeks. But the film will release on time," a source said.
