Delhi Belly For Adults, But There Is No Skin Show: Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan says his next production Delhi Belly is a bold film, but it doesn't have any skin show. The star was keen to do a role in the movie, which he believes will re-define the genre in the Hindi film industry.

"It's of course for adults, but there is no skin show. Neither have we made girls wear small clothes, nor are there any bold scenes. I think it would change the definition of bold films in Hindi cinema," Aamir told reporters at the launch of theatrical trailer of the movie releasing July 1.

This is his first production, which is not a family entertainment.

"My films had normally been family films or they had a social message. This is our first film which is certainly not for children because it has obscene language. We applied for adult certification for the film and we have got that.

"It's not even for those who have reservations about curse words. I myself don't use such words or language, but it fits the script. It's a very irreverent film, but it has humour in it," said Aamir.

Delhi Belly, which stars Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapoor, is directed by well-known ad filmmaker Abhinay Deo and Aamir says: "I had seen Abhinay's ads. So I was really impressed with his work. Abhinay liked the script and that's how Abhinay came on board."

Abhinay has done justice to the script written by Los Angeles-based Akshat Verma, who studied movies at the University of California.

"As a producer I am very happy the way Abhinay has made the film, showed humour and made it more exciting. I think he has fully justified the faith we had in him," said Aamir who was tempted to play the role that Kunal is doing in the film.

"I was dying to do a role in this film. I regret that I didn't work as an actor in this film. I wanted to do the role of Kunal Roy Kapoor. But the character is supposed to be fat and sloppy. I just didn't want to put on weight as I have worked very hard to lose it," said Aamir.

Britney is 'Mentally Incapable', Say Her Parents

She is a chart-topping artiste with millions in the bank but Britney Spears' parents have claimed that she is "mentally incapable" of testifying in a court case against her mother.

The popstar's mother Lynne is being sued for defamation by Spears' ex-manager Sam Lufti over claims made about him in her tell-all memoir, 'Through The Storm'.

She alleged that he regularly drugged Spears and harassed her following her well-publicised breakdown three years ago.

When Lufti requested that Spears be called as a witness to testify in the case, Lynne claimed that her 29-year-old daughter is incapable of doing so, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The singer remains under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears, and her lawyer, Andrew Wallet.

Both are unwilling to let Lufti have contact with Spears, who they say is in a "fragile mental state".

But Lufti has rejected their claims, arguing that Spears is now back in control of her mental health.

According to the magazine, Lufti has had an expert in psychiatry analyse a recent video interview with the singer in support of his argument.

"In the Ryan Seacrest interview, which was recorded approximately two months ago, Britney Spears is interviewed at length, and she responds logically and coherently to questions, evidencing logical thinking and mental competency," Lufti told the court.

I Want To Bring Heroes Back On Screen: Salman Khan

The hero battling insurmountable odds - it's a theme that has almost faded from Hindi films, but one man wants to bring it back.

Salman Khan, who delivered two consecutive hits in Wanted and Dabangg, says it's a conscious effort on his part to make movies where larger than life characters are glorified.

"It's a conscious effort to get those heroes back because I started missing them big time. I want to go to a theatre and I want to see my hero. We used to have it, but now we have romantic films, we have romcoms, so we have started missing heroes. I am in the business and I can pull it off," said Salman in an interview.

"People thought we were putting our wrong foot forward with Dabangg," said the 45-year-old who has worked in more than 80 films in the last 23 years.

"Dabangg was made for the masses. We were discouraged for the title Dabangg. Who is going to watch the film named Dabangg? Half of the people can't pronounce it properly and most doesn't know the meaning. The hero is a cop from UP (Uttar Pradesh). New girl, new director, mar jaoge, barbaad ho jaoge (it is suicidal, it will ruin you)," said Salman.

"We kept on making the film. We didn't have a financier and we had to produce the film. We knew what we were making, but most people thought that this was another C-grade kind of action film. When the first promo came out, more than anything, the children hooked on to it. When we were kids, we always wanted to see heroism," he added.

One of the hit Khans of Bollywood, Salman believes, "When you have action backed by proper emotion, nothing can stop the film."

He has delivered quite a few turkeys at the box office, but says he never panicked after facing disasters.

"I didn't panic when my films bombed left, right and centre because I knew that those films are going to bomb," said Salman who feels he has a certain responsibility towards his audiences.

"I have realised that I have some responsibility towards that one person who spends Rs.10 or Rs.500 to see my movie. Even if I don't get any remuneration, salary for my films, I am fine with that...It's something I am not worried about at all."

"What I am worried about is that when the film releases, when the guy who has spent Rs 10 to see my film, he should get entertainment worth Rs 100," said Salman.

Now fans are waiting for his Ready and Bodyguard, both remakes of southern films.

Ready, a remake of the 2008 Telugu movie of the same name, was directed by Sreenu have Vaitla who is wielding the megaphone for the Hindi version as well, while Bodyguard, inspired by director Siddique's 2010 Malayalam romantic comedy, is being directed by Anees Bazmee.

"I think it's a coincidence that my next films are remakes. Earlier they (South) used to copy our films. My father's scripts used to be broken down and made into films. Now Dabangg and 3 idiots are being remade there.

"When we remake a Hollywood film or a Chinese film, they are watched by the whole world, but when they (southern filmmakers) remake our film, a limited audience watches it - like Tamilians watch Tamil, Malayalis watch Malayalam. So it doesn't make any difference at the box office," said Salman.

His last two films Wanted and Dabangg were mega hits. Is he looking forward to making a hat-trick with Ready?

"I am looking at 100 hat-tricks together, which everyone is looking at. Who wants to have a disaster? Who wants to have a flop? If you have a disaster that means either you compromised somewhere or your thinking has gone totally weird. Everyone wants to make a Mughal-E-Azam, a Deewar, a Sholay, Hum Apke Hain Koun, Maine Pyar Kiya," said Salman.

Asked if he would venture into niche films, he said: "Doing niche films is like going down from Amsterdam to Andheri."

Kareena follows Shahid's advice

Bebo unable to forget vegetarianism that Shahid rubbed on to her, refuses to promote a chicken brand.

Rs 6 crore is not chicken feed. But it won't convince Kareena, voted by PETA as the world's sexiest vegetarian, to promote non-vegetarian food.

She has just turned down an offer to be a brand ambassador for a chicken product. It seems, the actress may have moved on after Shahid but the vegetarianism he rubbed on to her has stuck.

Bebo, who was a non-vegetarian to begin with, turned veggie after being with Shahid for two years, surprising the actor so much that he even told the media, "It's quite an achievement. The first two years we dated, she was non-vegetarian."

The actress started promoting vegetarianism wherever she went post that. "If my fans are looking up to me and have turned vegetarians then I am happy about it. I am a pure vegetarian and it helps me keep fit and healthy.

I am aware that my fans have liked my look in Tashan. If they turn vegetarian for that, then I am glad I set an example," the actress told after being voted the sexiest veggie in the World in 2008.

Whether her fans turned vegetarian, we would never know. But co-actor Vivek Oberoi sure did. Working together in Kurbaan and eating vegetarian food (courtesy: co-star Bebo), the hard-core meat eater Vivek, fell in love with vegetarianism.

Influencing her boyfriend Saif was tougher. The Prince of Pataudi, who claimed he could never be a 'complete vegetarian', however gave up his chicken drumsticks and mutton pilaaf on girlfriend's insistence.

What's surprising is, however, that a company could even after all this approach Bebo for promoting chicken.

The actress who would rather skip lunch than have non-veg food, should have been the last choice for such a product. In fact, on the sets of her forthcoming film Short Term Shaadi, she was supposed to eat scrambled eggs for a scene.

She almost puked on seeing eggs. The director Shakun Batra had to then order eggless pancakes for her.

Kareena remained unavailable for comment.

'Heroine isn't about Marilyn Monroe'

With 'heroine' Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and producer Ronnie Screwvala both in Cannes, Madhur Bhandarkar seized the global platform to announce his much-anticipated film, Heroine. And the script is now no longer the one Kareena Kapoor was supposed to enact.

It has been completely rewritten to incorporate incidents from Aishwarya's personal journey to stardom.

Speaking from Cannes after the announcement, Madhur clarified, "First of all it is not about Marilyn Monroe or Elizabeth Taylor, or any other Hollywood or Bollywood actress any more. It is one actress' journey to stardom, the people she meets and experiences she gathers. It isn't about the film industry."

When asked if the love-making sequences have been deleted on Ash's insistence, Madhur got evasive. "There never were love scenes...not any that would need serious modification. Too much has been said about the so-called love-making sequences. I never reacted because I wanted to get the script in place rather than kill rumours."

Speaking about why he chose to announce the movie in Cannes, Madhur says, "Aishwarya was here, so was my producer. We thought we would get a good global platform for the film. Besides, I hadn't taken a break for a long time. I needed to rejuvenate myself before starting Heroine."

At the movie's announcement, Aishwarya looked every inch 'the world's most beautiful woman' in an elegant trench dress and bondage heels. While her red carpet appearances have remained trademark diva-like, off the carpet a more chic persona has emerged.

At 37, Aishwarya's slipping into a western wardrobe that's evolved from her regular jeans-and-white-shirt fare. The dress ticked all the right boxes with slanted pockets, a rich khaki colour and fluid collar.

Her new haircut is shorter than what's she's worn for the past few years in a richer chestnut-brown colour. She kept accessories simple with a gold bangle, watch and bare ears.

Aishwarya has always known what suits her best, in terms of make-up and she brought it to force on the international stage with dewy soft lips and clear eyes. Two-strap heels completed her simple, but effective ensemble.

Yuvraj, Aanchal are just friends!

Aanchal Kumar poses with Zulfi Syed, but not with Yuvraj (at the back)
Yuvraj and Aanchal claim to be 'just friends'. But this is hard to believe when they just refuse to get clicked together

After evading questions for a long time pertaining to their relationship status, cricketer Yuvraj Singh and model Anchal Kumar finally opened up for the first time. The duo, who met in Chandigarh last week asked - "Who says we are dating?", but just refused to pose together. This rendezvous turned out to be quite an exciting affair...

What's exactly between you guys?
Yuvi: We are buddies. And it was very wrong when people called us lovebirds. I mean I was zapped to see what's being written about.
Aanchal: We have been friends since childhood and there's nothing more between us.

What was your reaction when you read about the reports regarding you two?
Yuvi: I kept quiet for a while. I was angry, but then I have learnt to stay cool. I remember those days... Uff, those were the hardest days.
Aanchal: I got furious. Trust me it took me many days to get back to normal. I couldn't control my tears.

Why did it take for you two so long to speak up on the issue?
Yuvi: I know what the truth is. And moreover I don't believe in giving justifications or clarifications. When I have not done anything wrong, why should I clear my stand?
Aanchal: Hello!! What issue are you talking about? I don't think I have to tell people what my relation with Yuvi is.

You guys met up after a long time...
Yuvi: It was long due! And see we met in our hometown. We had a long discussion as we occasionally get time to chit chat.
Aanchal: Yes! The treat for the World Cup victory was due.

Will there be further outings like this?
Yuvi: Yes. Again, I am saying we are friends.
Aanchal: Why not? Is it a crime to meet my pal?

These link-ups and rumours take away the peace of mind?
Yuvi: See, I am use to all this now. But yes, it pinches a lot.

Aanchal: Of course! So many negative thoughts surface, but all this just make you strong.Marriage plans?
Yuvi: I will do when I meet someone compatible.
Aanchal: No comments.

Your friendship has provided instant fodder for the rumour mills...
Yuvi: Let them think what they want to.
Aanchal: I think some people are jealous, but I want to tell them our friendship will go on.

Bipasha not in Amar tape: Celina

Actress Bipasha Basu, currently in the midst of a controversy over her alleged conversation with former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, has found support from Celina Jaitley.

Celina says she is confident that Bipasha is not in the controversial tape.

"I wld lk 2 stand up 4 Bipasha ..I hrd the tape n I DO NOT believe its her AT ALL! have known Bips since KOLKATA days the voice is NOT hers (sic)," Celina posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Bipasha grabbed headlines when transcripts of some of Amar Singh's tapes which were barred from being published in media until now, surfaced Thursday. The actress has denied her involvement, and says she has been pulled into it unnecessarily.

"The voice in the recording is certainly not mine. I dare say that my voice has distinct characteristics and the voice on the tape is completely different. Nothing could be farther from the truth," Bipasha said in a press statement Thursday.

She also added that she has never ever had a telephonic conversation with Singh.

Asin to leave Salman for SRK!

They said it would be Priyanka Chopra. And then they said Deepika would replace her. However, the latest is that the lucky one to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala's rendition of Chetan Bhagat's 2 States is none other than Asin Thottumkal.

However, we wonder how her good co-star and better friend Salman Khan would take that piece of news. After London Dreams and now Ready, Asin is believed to be quite 'friendly' with the actor.

Also, her bagging Housefull 2, a film to be produced by Sallu's good friend Sajid Nadiadwala, did manage to raise a few eyebrows in the industry. But now, it seems like the career oriented actress has no qualms about angering one Khan for the other.

Leaving Sallu angry or not, this seems to be a wonderful career move for the south Indian beauty.

With 2 States, Asin will become the first among her contemporaries, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor or Anushka Sharma to have worked with all the three big Khans of Bollywood.

A source from Nadiadwala's office revealed that the producer along with director Vishal Bhardwaj met Asin to discuss the story. Needless to say, the actress was more than excited.

"Asin is already a part of Housefull 2 and hence she often featured in the discussions about the casting for 2 States. Sajid and Asin share a comfortable relationship and the actress was excited to be a part of the film, which not only features Shah Rukh but also will be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. She is currently out of town but is expected to sign the papers as soon as she lands back in city," reveals the source.

The source further added, "Vidya Balan too was being considered for the role after Priyanka Chopra, since the female lead in the film is South Indian. Asin fits the bill for the same reason."

No wonder, Asin did not want her 'close' friend Neil Nitin Mukesh to mess up with his career decisions (Mumbai Mirror, May 11). After all, how can one who rubs shoulders with the Khans on-screen be seen with somebody who doesn't?

When contacted, Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj, both remained unavailable for comments.

Kangana ignores relatives!

Kangana Ranaut had been looking forward for her younger sister Rangoli's wedding.

Though Kangs couldn't be at home to be part of all the excitement and preparations, she made sure to be present during the wedding rituals. The actress returned to Manali from Macau, where she was shooting for Double Dhamaal.

And once she reached the wedding house, she became the centre of attention for all. Interestingly, more than the bride and groom the focus was on Rangoli's star sister who was looking beautiful in White Indian attire. But for a change, the actress played down her starry self and took the role of a shutterbug, going around clicking pictures of her sister and brother-in-law Ajay Chandel.

We hear that the gorgeous lady got so engrossed capturing the special moment that she completely ignored the relatives and guests and also disturbed the professional photographers.

We wonder if the actress used sis' wedding as an opportunity to test her photography skills. Bad timing we say!

I need Salman's assurance: Aamir Khan

Actor Aamir Khan says he can't and won't go ahead without Salman's assurance...

Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have been great buddies, and both have been displaying their sense of humour to the media of late. As Aamir Khan suggested that the only way to get Salman married is to tie him to the mandap, Salman suggested that it's Aamir whom he'll tie lest he runs to the mandap and gets married a third time!

Aamir, when asked if he is still on a bride hunting spree for Sallu, he was quick to say, "I really don't mind finding a girl for him. But I need his assurance that whomever I choose, he'll marry without question and discussion. Until then I'm sitting pretty."

When asked if his choice of girl for Salman would be someone from within the film industry or outside, Aamir refused to divulge any details. "That I'll tell you once Salman becomes part of this deal," he guffawed.
