SRK denies lip-lock rumours | Video News

Rs. 1 crore outfit not enough: SRK

It has been heard that Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra.One' just got more expensive.

A specially made superhero costume was designed and tailor-made for the actor in Los Angeles. However, after seeing the rushes of some portions of the flick, SRK isn't very impressed.

So he quickly set up a meeting with his marketing and SFX team. And they came to a conclusion that more computer generated graphics be added to his costume. This has upped the budget of Ra.One quite a bit, but Shah Rukh thinks it's well worth it.

Now, there'll be some extra shine and rays emitted by SRK in Ra.One. Let's hope some of this shine rubs off on the BO results, too.

Payal wanted to be in Kalki's shoes?

Actress Payal Rohatgi was vying for the role that Kalki Koechlin has bagged in Bannerjee's 'Shanghai'...

There has been an interesting turn of events... Do you remember the Payal Rohatgi-Dibakar Bannerjee fiasco? Well, Payal Rohatgi went to the press stating that Bannerjee wanted some sexual favours from her and in turn promised her a role in his films, a word he did not live up to.

The movie in question here is Dibakar Bannerjee's 'Shanghai' starring Abhay Deol and Emraan hashmi. Interestingly, when Anurag Kashyap was asked of his opinion about the 'casting couch', Kashyap was quick to say that directors these days would not compromise on their films and wouldn't cast anyone on the basis of having had or not had sex with them.

As soon as Anurag took up for Dibakar, Payal Rohatgi accused him of having practised the 'casting couch in real life', and questioned how Kalki Koechlin, Anurag's girlfriend then and wife now managed to bag the films she did.

Not reacting to Payal's statements, it so happens that Kalki Koechlin is now the female lead of 'Shanghai'. Of course, she has been cast only on the basis of her talent and nothing else. Kalki is also a part of Zoya Akhtar's 'Zindagi Milegi na Dobara' (also starring Abhay Deol).

Kalki proved her mettle in 'Dev D'. Post her Dev D experience, the girl has been a part of a cola TV commercial and even took passionately to theatre.

Vivek Oberoi gets emotional

Vivek
Every actor was busy wishing his/her mother on mother's day but we found Vivek's wishes most touching.

The actor wrote, "Wishing every mother out there a very happy mothers day!

It's just one day a year dedicated to showing our mothers how much we love them, but really, we should be thankful for our mothers everyday!

God couldn't be everywhere, so he created mothers. For your love, guidance, wisdom and strength...love you maa!"

Other than her qualities you just mentioned Vivek, confidence too is something we are sure you've inherited from your mother.

We remember speaking to Vivek's mother during Lakme Fashion Week last year. We had asked if she had liked Vivek's walk as a model on the ramp when he was a showstopper to which she had proudly replied, "He used to ramp walk even in his college and was good even then. He stood out even back then."

Sonakshi's chul bul hangover!

Salman, Sonakshi
Sonakshi Sinha still seems to be hung up on her debut blockbuster!

It's been months since Sonakshi Sinha's blockbuster debut Dabangg hit theatres. The actress even won almost every possible 'female newcomer' award.

Salman's chulbul Pandey character achieved 'cult' status which even inspired Priyanka Chopra and Rakhi Sawant to do a chulbul at award functions!

In spite of currently shooting for Shirish Kunder's film 'Joker', the actress seems to be hung up on Dabangg.

In her latest movie still, we discovered Sonakhi donning sunglasses whose frames were heart-shaped! Does this ring a bell?

We were instantly reminded of Salman's promotional poster for Dabangg which had two blinking hearts reflecting on his sunglasses too. If that's not enough, the actress will even be seen gyrating on an item song in desi choli and ghagra a la Munni of Dabangg.

Aren't we getting too superstitious Sonakshi, in case you are expecting the heart shaped sunglasses to win people's hearts at the box office too!

Siddharth, Shruti Haasan living-in!

Siddharth and Shruti Haasan have taken their relationship to an all new level. They are so confident about their relationship that they have started living-in to get to know each other better.

The couple hasn't hidden anything from the actress-singer's father Kamal Haasan and have also got his blessings. When Kamal learnt that the two were intending to take their relationship forward, the progressive father was more than happy to bless the duo.

"They felt they should live-in, given as they have never really fought with each other or had any sort of misunderstandings. Shruti is head-over-heels in love. She is willing to even chase a career down South and keep Bollywood as a secondary option. She has rejected around five good offers. She feels proximity with her beau will make her relationship work. The couple very much wants to settle down a few years down the line," says a reliable informer.

The insider adds, "Kamal is very happy about Shruti choosing Sid. He feels the actor is good for his girl. He liked Sid as an actor even before Shruti and Sid started seeing each other. Shruti has also not been performing with the new band that she had formed — the reason, again her relationship which doesn't leave her with much time to do anything else. Therefore, writing new songs, preparing new compositions and tracks is also not happening. But she is happy and content." When contacted, Shruti and Siddharth, who was married earlier to his childhood sweetheart Meghna for four years before they split in 2006, remained unavailable for comment.

Vidya is a fine actress: Milan Luthria

Come August and Hyderabad will be the destination of one of the most controversial and 'dirty' movie shootings of the year.

Major portions of "Dirty Picture," a film loosely based on Southern siren, Silk Smitha's life will be shot in Film City and Jubilee Hills area. Hyderabad Times caught up with director Milan Luthria of "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai" fame, who was on a location scout in the city. "It's natural that we shoot portions of the film here in Hyderabad, to capture the flavor of the South," says the director.

Controversies galore: Silk Smitha's life on celluloid could ruffle a lot of feathers, considering she was involved with bigwigs from Tollywood. "We are not making the film for controversies. Our movie explores how she became one of the most powerful women at a time when men ruled the roost," explains Milan. Earlier, Silk Smitha's boyfriend and filmmaker, Vinu Chakravarthy, lashed out at producer Ekta Kapoor for not taking his consent before making the film. "It's ridiculous. We are just using her as a parameter to make a film on women of that era," says Milan. The choice of Vidya Balan to play Smitha on screen too was criticized by Vinu. "Vidya is a fine actress. She has an innocent face, yet there is this underlining sexuality about her that no one else has. It fits the role. She was sexuality personified in her sarees in "Ishqiya," he reasons.

The men in her life: With Nasseruddin Shah, Tushar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi playing the three men in Vidya's on screen life, one can't help but probe who in particular are the characters based on. "No one as such. Our writer Rajat has written the characters in such a way that it does not represent anyone living or dead," treads the director carefully. But with a movie based on a Southern siren's life, how come none of the actors from the South are involved in the project? "Well, it was a conscious decision. If one actor brings in the Southern accent, then we would have to take all the actors from here itself," says the director, who is now gearing up to shoot with Akshay Kumar for the sequel of last year's hit, "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai."

"We wanted to take the story forward to the time when Shoaib already became a dreaded don. We decided to replace Emraan with Akshay, as the latter's seriousness and larger-than-life persona on screen suits the character," says the director.

Friends in the city: Milan has many Tollywood connections. "I assisted Mahesh Bhatt during "Criminal" and I've been friends with Nagarjuna since. Same with Chiranjeevi, who did "Gentleman." How come he never cast them in his movies? "By the time I started making movies, they stopped doing Hindi films. But I've heard good things about their sons, Naga Chaitanya and Ram Charan Tej. The next time I'm in town, I'll drop in and say hi to my old friends," says Milan.

No short-term gains for me: Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn shows off his hot new bod and reveals why he's allergic to six-pack

Ajay Devgn's got a new look. It's not the conventional six-pack, it's a more realistic, brawny physique that the actor's carved for himself. Clearly, Ajay's not interested in short-term gains, he is in this too, for the long haul. "That's what I have always believed in. At 65 and 70 too, I would like to lift the same kind of weights."

A six-pack helps in sculpting your body and it makes you look strong, but you lose out on power, he says. The actor's got a fantastic response to his new 'power-packed' appearance (see pic) from everyone and it's just perfect, with raw manliness oozing out for his role in Singham of a tough cop from a village. The Shiva tattoo on his chest, which he'd got done last year, further enhances the look.

Celeb trainer Prashant Saawant, who's helped him get to this point in three months, says Ajay went through rigorous combination of weights and circuit super sets that incorporated all techniques including pushups and pull-ups, along with a high-protein low-carb diet. "He is absolutely disciplined and fantastic."
