Spears inspires Paltrow’s new movie

The media treatment of pop star Britney Spears inspired Gwyenth Paltrow starrer movie ‘Country Song’, reveals director Shana Feste.

Feste has confessed it was the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker Britney who gave her the idea for the movie, which sees Paltrow playing a country singer trying to resurrect her career while dealing with an addiction problem, reports mtv.com.

‘That’s where this movie came from. I mean, I was seeing what was happening in the media to Britney Spears,’ said Feste.

The director completed writing the script for the movie which also stars Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester when Michael Jackson died in 2009 and she admits the media portrayal of his death played on her mind.

‘I finished the script when Michael Jackson passed away. I think it’s tragic how we treat people who give us so much, and we love to see them knocked down to build them back up again, to knock them down again. It’s a weird fascination,’ she said.

Kelly Brook at Dubai Film Festival to support her movie

British model-cum-actress Kelly Brook, who attended the 7th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival to support her film ‘Removal’ that was screened here Friday, said she was excited at having her film shown at the fest.

‘I have been very welcomed and am having an amazing time, and happy to be here to support my movie. A tiny independent movie we made a year ago and to have it screened here is fantastic,’ Brook told IANS before entering the hall where her film was being screened.

Directed by Nick Simon, ‘Removal’ is a spooky horror film. It depicts the story of Cole Hindin, an overworked and over-medicated cleaning service employee who finds himself faced with the daunting task of single-handedly servicing a sprawling mansion while struggling to maintain his sanity throughout the night.

Having witnessed a murder a year earlier, he is plagued by horrific hallucinations, is badly bruised by memories of a failed marriage and strung out on a cocktail of prescription medication.

The actress regrets that she might miss out watching some good films due to her tight itinerary.

‘I don’t know. I am going to have a look. I have to look at the schedule. I have very less time so I am not sure I would be able to watch any other movie or not,’ said Brook.

The eight-day festival would conclude Dec 19.

Lady GaGa Goes Bra-Less For Stage Performance

Pop singer Lady GaGa is well known for her sense of fashion, well, for her strange tastes in fashion, but this one probably surpassed all! The singer was lately in London to stage a performance at the O2 Arena. When its Lady GaGa performing on stage, people keep both their ears and their eyes open as she will predictably turn out in a shocker dress before belting out her tracks to entertain the audience. And that is exactly what Lady GaGa did at the O2 Arena in London. She came dressed in a see through dress for her stage performance.

While there is nothing surprising or shocking in a see through costume, Lady GaGa actually forgot to wear the most important part of her clothing – her bra! Without the underwear, all that the singer had to cover up her assets were two tiny pieces of plaster! Lady GaGa definitely did not disappoint in keeping her audiences entertained with foot-tapping numbers, but it was her dress which caught the attention of the media cameras!

After all that Lady GaGa has worn in public, the media and fans are still surprised at her choice of fashion whenever the singer makes a public appearance. John Abraham Turns 38: Loves Bipasha And Bikes

Bollywood actor John Abraham has turned 38 today, the 17^th of December. The actor who is well known for many of his films like Dostana, New York, Jhootha Hi Sahi etc, is well known for his love for bikes and his penchant for collecting the fastest bike. In fact earlier this year there were reports about him having a bike specially made for himself with the style and design of the bike all assembled in exactly the same way that he wanted it to be.

Well, so well known John for his love of his bikes that at a recent chat show on the telly he had confessed about an incident.

John had said that once when he was giving his girl friend Bipasha Basu a lift on his bike he had asked her to be careful with her heels lest they would make scratches on his bike. Then when she was trying to close up to him on the bike he told her to sit back lest the helmet would get scratched. Well, so offended was Bips that she got off the bike and asked him to go saying that she would manage to go home on her own! Well, such love for his bikes has never really had any bad effect on John’s and Bips relationship. The two are still one of the greatest couples in Bollywood.

Infact Bips has gone and posted a cute pic of John as a child on her twitter and she has posted a message saying that this cute kid’s birthday is on the 17^th of December and he has grown up to be a very handsome man. As John has not opened his own twitter handle, Bipasha has even thanked everyone on John’s behalf for wishing him on his birthday.

Hrithik, Salman to fight on screen

After Salman Khan’s ugly comment about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’, he has again decided to fight it out with the hunk at the box office. Salman Khan has announced the release date of his new film, ‘Ready’ on the same date that of Hrithik’s film ‘Zindagi Na Milagi Dobara’.  

Confirming the news a source said, “Bhushan Kumar is producing ‘Ready’. And Sallu has managed to convince Kumar that May 27, 2011, which is the day when Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ hits theatres, is the best day for ‘Ready’ to release as well. While the release date for ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ was decided nearly two months ago, Sallu, it seems, met Kumar only after the ‘Guzaarish’ fiasco.”

Kumar even told, “Haan, mainezaroor Salman ke saath discuss kiya tha release date ke bare mein. We met about this last week.”

It will be a clash of the two stars at the box office on May 27.

Hrithik, Suzanne to celebrate anniversary in Goa

Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Roshan will celebrate their 10^th wedding anniversary on 20^th December in style in Goa. The party will be going to be a rocking one and mostly friends ad family are expected to join the bash.

They have shifted their choice from nighclubs to Goa because most of the nighclubs in Mumbai closed at late nights and the couple has decided to party till wee hours in the morning. They have decided to enjoy throughout the night in the beautiful location of Goa. The exact venue has been kept under wrap.

Some of the invitees who will attend Hrithik’s anniversary bash include Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Kunal Kapoor, Kajal Anand, Zayed and Mallika Khan.

Besides this, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Arjun and Mehr Rampal, Dino Morea, Sonali and Goldie Behl, Farhan, Zoya and Adhuna Akhtar and Abhishek Kapoor will also be available there among others.

Salman, Katrina patch up

The hottest couple of the tinselville who are no longer a pair now are coming together to entertain their audience. They buried their old hatchet and coming together to entertain their audience and the Bigg Boss housemates. In order to promote their latest flick, ‘Tees Maar Khan’, Katrina Kaif and Farah Khan will enter the Bigg Boss house and as expected lots of fun will be there.

It would be a surprise for the housemates. They have no idea that two big celebrities are coming to their house. For a task, Bigg Boss has made two teams, one team comprises Shweta Twari and Dolly Bindra and the other team has members, Veena Malik and Seema Parihar. Shweta’s team will shake their legs to ‘Munni Badnam Hui’ and Veena will shake leg to the song, ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’.

The performance of the two teams will be judged by the two special celebrity guests and winners will be declared. Obviously, when two great dancers will be present, their movement will be corrected by them. Both Farah and Kat are also expected to do some latkas and jhatkas.
