Shah Rukh Khan roped in to promote ‘Joker’?

Mumbai: Considering Shirish Kunder has been promoting his upcoming flick ‘Joker’ in the most unusual of ways possible, roping in Shah Rukh Khan to participate in his promotional ventures isn’t exactly off the mark. Though Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, the lead actors of ‘Joker’, haven’t been seen promoting ‘Joker’ a lot, Farah Khan, it seems, has other ideas in mind.

Recently, Farah had been to Mannat, Shah Rukh’s bungalow, to meet the actor and discuss their forthcoming production ‘Happy New Year’. Farah ended up striking gold for her husband Shirish at the meeting, and came out of SRK’s bungalow with a fun video starring the superstar and the aliens of ‘Joker’.

A source has revealed to a daily, “Farah had gone to meet SRK in the afternoon to discuss Happy New Year as he is leaving later this week for the shoot of Yash Chopra`s untitled film. After a while, they started chatting about ‘Joker’ and the aliens. Farah asked SRK if he wanted to see them, and he agreed. She made a quick call to the production house and told them to send the aliens to Mannat.”

“The aliens were spotted entering Mannat and SRK also did a fun video with them. Despite being busy with a photo shoot with Daboo Ratnani at Mannat, the actor did the video simultaneously for Farah,” added the source.

Later on, Farah Khan confirmed the news and added, “Shah Rukh is family and it was very sweet of him to take some time out for ‘Joker’.”

Whether the “sweetness” of SRK was another way to mend his soured relation with Shirish Kunder after the brawl that had taken place earlier this year or it is his friendship with Farah at the crux of it all, it would be pleasing to watch King Khan shake a leg with the aliens of ‘Joker’. The film is scheduled to release on August 31.

Sunny Deol`s ‘Ghayal Returns’ not shelved: Director

Mumbai: Director Rahul Rawail has dismissed reports that Sunny Deol starrer ‘Ghayal Returns’ has hit a roadblock and said he is currently working on the script.

"The sequel will definitely be made. I am working on the script. I can`t talk about the film or any other details related to the project," director Rahul Rawail said.

Earlier Sunny had roped in Ashwini Chaudhury of ‘Jodi Breakers’ fame to direct ‘Ghayal Returns’. But due to some disagreements between Sunny and Ashwini, the association did not materialise.

Sunny then handed over the project to director Rahul, with whom he had worked 12 years ago in ‘Arjun Pandit’.

‘Ghayal Returns’ is a sequel to 1990 hit action film ‘Ghayal’ which had Sunny and Meenakshi Seshadri in the lead.

"Both Sunny and Rahul did not want to go ahead with the story that Ashwini had penned. So, Rahul is working on a fresh story which is different from what Ashwini had conceptualised," a source close the project said.

The sequel is likely to go on floors next year.

"Rahul had several ideas about `Ghayal Returns` and Sunny has selected one. Rahul is working on the idea. To develop a good story will take time, say about six months or so," the source added.

There was a buzz that Vidya Balan and Bipasha Basu were approached for `Ghayal Returns`.

As of now only, Sunny has been finalised for the sequel, the makers have not zeroed in on the leading lady.

"Once Rahul is done with his script then we will approach the actress," the source said.

Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to write, “#EkThaTiger Wed biz still being compiled. Yashraj still getting data. So one can only estimate. Anywhere between 32 to 35 cr nett. Ab bolo!(sic), and added, “To state that #EkThaTiger has created History would be wrong. Wed figures are BEYOND HISTORIC(sic).”

The film has received unprecedented response in just a day’s time. Wonder what the weekend will unfold!

Downey Jr. injured on 'Iron Man 3' set

Actor Robert Downey Jr. ended up with an injured ankle following a stunt on the set of action-packed film "Iron Man 3".

The actor has been shooting scenes for the upcoming sequel, but production on the blockbuster has now been delayed to allow him time to recover from an accident, reports dailystar.co.uk.

"Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of 'Iron Man 3' in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates," said an statement issued by Marvel Studios.

The movie, which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce, is set to hit screens May 2013.

Sunny Leone in Hindi-Kannada bilingual

Early this week, producer K Manju was in Mumbai, on a trip that he claims was to get adult star Sunny Leone to agree to work on his first Hindi film. And Manju says that Sunny has okayed the project and will start shooting for it next year.

"From the time Sunny was announced as the star of Jism 2, I wanted to make a film with her. But she was contractually bound to not do any other project at the time. In fact, even now, she is able to allot dates only after she completes Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS 2. Sunny has signed the contract," says Manju, adding that his film is not heroinecentric, and that the hero should be finalized in the next week or two.

Just because he is foraying into B-town doesn't mean he's bidding goodbye to Sandalwood. "I will continue making Kannada films. I have always maintained that I want to make a Hindi film and now things are falling in place. In fact, this film may be simultaneously made in Kannada too, as dubbing in Kannada is not allowed," he says.

The filmmaker refuses to divulge details about Sunny's agreed upon remuneration, sources say that it is to the tune or 1.5 cr and that Manju has paid her a substantial amount as advance.
