Raksha Bandhan, (the bond of protection) or Rakhi, is a festival primarily observed in India, which celebrates the relationship between brothers and sisters. It is also called Rakhi Purnima in most of India.It is also celebrated in some parts of Pakistan. The festival is observed by Hindus, Sikhs and some Muslims. The central ceremony involves the tying of a rakhi (sacred thread) by a sister on her brother's wrist. This symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being, and the brother's lifelong vow to protect her.The festival falls on the full moon day (Shravan Poornima) of the Shravan month of the Hindu lunisolar calendar. It grew in popularity after Rani Karnavati, the widowed queen of Chittor, sent a rakhi to the Mughal emperor Humayun when she required his help.

Cricket Stars Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar are world’s highest-paid cricketers

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag and Yusuf Pathan feature on the Forbes’ list of highest-paid cricketers; MS Dhoni tops the list!

India's "Captain Cool" Mahendra Singh Dhoni and batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar lead world's highest-paid cricketers with as many as six Indians making it to the Forbes list of top ten.

Dhoni's success on the pitch, including leading India to its second ever Cricket World Cup championship "had helped turn him into India's biggest celebrity," said the reputed US business magazine noting "the fame has paid off: last year, Mahendra Singh Dhoni made an unprecedented $26.5 million,"

But only a small portion of that payout, about $3.5 million, comes directly from Dhoni's on-field play, it said. The remaining sum of $23 million comes from his impressive list of nearly 25 endorsements, including PepsiCo, Reebok and Sony.

Fellow Indian Sachin Tendulkar, "arguably the greatest batsman to ever step onto a cricket pitch, was the game's highest-paid player before Dhoni's rise to fame."

"The Little Master is adored by cricket fans both young and old, and his popularity in India helped him make $18.6 million last year," Forbes said.

Like Dhoni, the vast majority of Tendulkar's earnings came courtesy of valuable sponsorship deals. Sachin Tendulkar currently has 16 sponsors, including Adidas, Coca-Cola, Castrol and Toshiba, and they paid a total $16.5 million "for the all-time great's services."

The next three spots on the Forbes list are also held by Indians with Gautam Gambhir ($7.3 million) ranked third, Virat Kohli ($7.1 million) fourth and Virender Sehwag ($6.9 million) fifth. Yusuf Pathan ($3.7 million) takes the tenth spot.

Four Australians led by Shane Watson ($5.9 million) take the sixth to ninth spots. He is followed by Australian captain Michael Clarke ($4.9 million), Brett Lee ($4.8 million) and Ricky Ponting ($4.1 million).

Kareena Takes a dig at rival Katrina Kaif in her movie ‘Heroine’

“Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” Well this must be what, Bebo and Katrina is saying, each time they see the mirror. The quest and rivalry between the two, to be the number one actress in Bollywood is not hidden.

To add spice to that, Kareena is said to take a jibe at Katrina in her new venture ‘Heroine’. In a scene from the movie, while she is interacting with a journalist she says that some actress in the film industry make name and fame riding piggyback on their boyfriend. It is not hard to understand, who she was taking the dig at. She also goes on to say that passport of the actress should be checked for name, age and country of origin.

Not that we need to pin down Kareena for this, as the dialogues are being managed by filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who is the director of the movie. Both the girls though maintain a healthy relationship with Salman Khan, who is revered by all in Bollywood. 

‘Heroine’ is set to be released on September 12. Kareena plays the role of a Bollywood actress in the movie. She has been described in the trailer as a sankee, moody and impulsive person. The voice in the background of the trailer asks who will give chance to such an actress. The instant reply comes from Kareena, who says, “Hollywood ho ya Bollywood, har heroine mein yein teeno qualities hoti hai”.

Bhandarkar is known for the one-liners in his movie. At one place Kareena takes a dig at the media too, where she says, “Aap media waalon ko film scripts likhnee chahiye. Heroine ne gadi lee toh businessman ne gift kar di, diamond khareeda toh engagement ho gayi, hospital gayi checkup ke liye toh abortion ho gaya, LA gayi toh plastic surgery karva lee, or God forbid Dubai gayi toh uska rate card bann jata hai.”

The movie has other funny one-liners too. Divya Dutta, who plays Kareena’s rival in the movie says to her, “Yeh film industry hai, yahaan ya toh manipulate karlo, ya manipulate ho jao.”

The film also casts Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda, who play the role of actor and cricketer respectively. In also involves a raunchy intimate scene between Arjun and Kareena, which is already a hit on YouTube.
