It seems Parineeti needs dressing tips from cousin Priyanka

Parineeti Chopra needs dressing tips from her cousin Priyanka ASAP

On a TV show for a green environment, she had quipped that they share their wardrobe. Looks like the younger PC has not borrowed anything lately from her didi. She turned up at an event at Film City yesterday wearing the same blue skinny jeans and nude heels she wore on the show in May that also featured PC.

Robert Downey Jr rescues chain of people as he flies high on wires on Iron Man 3 set

It was just another average day in the working life of Robert Downey Jr.

For a chain of people were clinging on to the actor as he flew high in the sky while attached to wires on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina this week.

Motion sensors were attached to various parts of his body, while he also wore a body suit that will be turned into his character's armor through the magic of CGI in post-production.

The actor wore a red crash helmet, which bore a resemblance to the one worn by his character Tony Stark in the hit superhero movie series.

And he appeared to be pulling of a particularly daring rescue as they filmed along the Cape Fear River.

While many stunts are pulled off in green screen conditions, the sheer scale of this scene and the cutting edge CGI techniques used by Marvel Pictures mean they can superimpose the superhero over the footage of Robert.

A crack team of stunt coordinators were on hand to operated the wires for the complicated high-flying choreography.

Luckily for the stunt performers there was no danger of them plunging to their doom if they let go
Robert recently spoke about how excited he was to be working on the latest entry of the series, and said he will return if they keep making good sequels.

He said: 'I know things are looking like that they could go on for a long while.

'As usual in my book, it’s all about quality control and delivering a product that you can have this kind of [positive] reaction to.

There was a meeting among the actors to make sure everyone knew what they were doing
If they keep doing that, maybe I’ll keep showing up.'

He also said he was as excited as fans about casting rumors linking Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley and Momemnto favourite Guy Pearce to the film.

He said: '(I can’t wait to work with) any or all of them. It’s funny. Sometimes you have to call for a good old-fashioned British invasion.

'Iron Man 3 is really shaping up to be something special.'

Fashion faux pas: Bollywood divas too lazy to remove shoe labels?

Madhuri Dixit looked every inch a perfect diva at an event in Mumbai this Saturday. But for a ‘minor’ oversight — the sticker-label stuck on the bottom of her hopefully-new sandals.

Last month, actor Parineeti Chopra gave us a fancy photoshoot, with the shoe label sticking out again as a sore thumb. Stylists say that these celebs are not alone, as not
removing the price sticker from the bottom of the footwear is one of the most common fashion faux pas Indians commit.

Is that a shoe label Madhuri?
“It is clearly one of the often neglected and most frequently committed fashion blunders in India. But when a celebrity makes it, it shows carelessness, not just on their part but also on that of the stylist responsible for their look,” says stylist Mahima Shukla.

“With brands like Christian Louboutin where the whole focus is on the red soles, these stickers can look really tacky,” she adds.

“Celebrities should be meticulous about small things and always double check their look before stepping out,” says stylist Vikram Seth. A possible reason could also be bad-quality stickers, points out stylist Nisha Khundnani.

“In India, brands pay little attention to the quality of stickers. They just don’t come off,” she says.

While Madhuri was not available for a comment on the faux pas that made it to the fashion blogs, her manager Rakesh ‘Rikku’ Nath had an interesting explanation to offer.

“Madhuri was wearing her old sandals that couldn’t have had the label. A sticker lying on the road must have got stuck to her sandal,” he says.

Didn’t cash in on Anandi: Avika Gor

The fifteen-year-old Avika Gor, better known as the child-bride on Balika Vadhu, says she’s a workaholic, is set to enter celeb dance show.

Audiences still remember you as the child-bride Anandi. Don’t you think you should have taken a break after Balika Vadhu before taking on mature roles?
No, I never felt that. Young cricketers keep playing the sport from a tender age till they make it. They don’t take breaks. My relationship with acting is similar. I want to keep acting no matter what roles I get.

But having seen you play Anandi, isn’t it tough for the audience to set that image aside?
I realise that people, at times, can’t look beyond Anandi when it comes to me. And many people have told me I should have continued playing the grown-up character in the show. I didn’t because there were some intimate scenes, which I wouldn’t have been comfortable doing, as I was 12 or 13 at that time. I am playing a married 18-year-old woman in Sasuraal Simar Ka (SSK) on TV, but I haven’t done intimate scenes nor will I do so in the future. The writers on the show know I am 15, so if they want any such scenes, they will have to take a leap (laughs).

Child actors hardly get good roles once they grow up. Did you take up the grown-up role in SSK because you wanted to cash in on Anandi’s image?
There were several offers, so I didn’t need to cash in on Anandi. Fans who used to comment on how cute I was as Anandi on my blog, now send comments saying they love me as Roli in SSK. When it was offered to me, I knew it was a challenge. I had to play an 18-year-old girl and had to work hard on the body language and maturity of the character.

Now you have taken on Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa (JDJ) as well.

I always wanted to do JDJ, but I only managed to get a chance now. I am excited and not at all nervous about participating in it. I am confident and bindaas about everything in life. I am like a boy. I am not scared of anything and if I am unable to do something, my parents have my back.

What is the compulsion to take on so much work?

Why not? I get good opportunities and I can manage it. Moreover, it isn’t work, but fun. For example, a few months ago, I was shooting for Kalpana Lajmi’s Kaanch where I play a 14-year-village girl. I was also shooting for SSK simultaneously. Now that the film has wrapped up, I will be doing JDJ and SSK. Of course, I also have to deal with my 10th standard exams this year, but I know my capabilities.

Wild card

To spice up the celebrity dance show Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa, popular TV actors like Avika Gor, Eijaz Khan, Rashmi Desai, Drashti Dhami, Karan Singh Wahi will compete against each other next week to be part of the reality show. Only two will be chosen to join the show.

Kelly Brook shows off her bronzed pins in flirty seasonal skirt

She has just been away on holiday and when the sun peaked through the clouds today Kelly Brook made sure she made the most of the opportunity.

The 32-year-old model stepped out in a modest knee-length printed skirt and a white T-shirt but she had her bare legs on show.

Kelly decided to chance the weather and left a jacket at home for her stroll in the brief moment of sunshine.
Kelly Brook was seen with bare legs in London today making the most of a brief moment of sunshine
Her newly-darkened locks were emphasised by her bright top and she teamed her tan bag with a pair of chunky brown platform heels

Kelly unveiled her new style at an event in London last night.

The underwear model had poured her shape into a raspberry skater-style dress to attend the launch of the Magnum pop up store at Westfield shopping centre in Stratford.
Kelly's trim waist was pulled in by the green skirt

As well as attending the event the pair squeezed in some alone time enjoying a romantic boat trip together.

Movie Review: The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises is also not just a movie, it's a moviemaking miracle and a buffet of eyeball orgasms - one that contains enough visceral thrills and proof of Chris Nolan rising as the superhero of the movie industry.

The Dark Knight Rises
Starring: Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy
Dir: Christopher Nolan
U/A; Action
Rating: **** (out of Five)

In the four years since 'The Dark Knight' the fandom for Nolan’s Batman trilogy has grown to astronomical levels - you’d have to live on a different planet to not be familiar with these films. Nolan’s lavishness in imagination and passion for real emotions has made the first two parts transcend from mere films to spiritual experiences. The Dark Knight Rises is also not just a movie, it’s a moviemaking miracle and a buffet of eyeball orgasms – one that contains enough visceral thrills and proof of Chris Nolan rising as the superhero of the movie industry. It’s a sprawling epic, the darkest, most complex segment of Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

The first two were character triumphs on their own, but it is obvious that Nolan was saving all the goodies for last. The Dark Knight Rises obliterates the bar with gritty physical effects sprinkled with CGI. The effects are so realistic it’s impossible to distinguish between real and CGI, and are seamlessly woven into the sweeping exhilaration of Wally Pfister’s cinematography. It is in your best interest that you keep away from story details before watching the film – know that the plot takes eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, and Bruce Wayne has turned into a recluse, as the villainous Bane not-so-silently plots an apocalypse.
At a mammoth two hours forty five minutes, The Dark Knight Rises tends to have a slightly bloated middle section. The film shifts to a cave under the sands of Jodhpur and fast forwards three months without much consistency. I foresee complaints along the lines of Bane not being as awesome a villain as Heath Ledger as the Joker, but that complaint becomes irrelevant, because no one can possibly be as awesome as the latter. To make up for the choppy middle section, the third act of The Dark Knight Rises is an hour-long post-apocalyptic action set piece and is one hell of a rousing stretch of eye and ear candy.

The recurring cast including Gary Oldman holds a more poignant resonance this time, and Bale is particularly excellent as the tormented superhero. Michael Caine is unforgettably haunting as the distraught butler seeing his surrogate son fall. Anne Hathaway isn’t as sexy as she is oddly endearing as the Catwoman, but Joseph Gordon Levitt is great as a Gotham cop. Bane may not be The Joker, but Tom Hardy does all he can to emote with his face covered. The only real problem is that Bane’s voice is still not completely audible, and watching the movie in a theater that doesn’t have very high quality speakers will make Bane almost entirely incomprehensible.

Even with its ginormous set pieces, scope and SFX, The Dark Knight Rises separates itself from other blockbusters because it rarely loses sight of its humanity and mission to meet insane expectations. It’s outstanding entertainment, a victory of mad passion and cinematic artistry, with a sly final payoff that gives you goosebumps and leaves you drooling for more.

Shakira lets a killer whale lick her cheek on visit to a sea park with boyfriend Gerard Pique

She is usually seen puckering up with her footballer beau Gerard Pique.

But Shakira received a kiss from a very different kind today.

The Colombian pop star got a big wet one on the cheek from a giant killer whale as she visited the Miami Seaquarium with her boyfriend yesterday.

Beaming, the 35-year-old singer stuck her cheek out as the toothy sea animal gave her a lick on her face.

Not to miss out on the moment, Gerard also went cheek-to-cheek with the black and white orca.

Today, the cute couple went casual for the outing, with a near make-up free Shakira wearing a pair of black shorts and a simple white T-shirt.
Tenderly touching his girlfriend's knee, Gerard looked ready for the water in a pair of boardshorts and a near-matching top to his ladylove.

Killer whales aren't always known to be that friendly.

In February 2010, Dawn Brancheau, a trainer at SeaWorld in Orlando, was brutally butchered by a killer whale named Tilikum.
Sharing the love: Not to miss out on the moment, Gerard also went cheek-to-cheek with the black and white orca during the outing
Gerard and Shakira are currently relishing in some relationship time after a busy past few weeks.

Gerard just recently played in the The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, where his Spanish team were victorious over Italy in the final.

Meanwhile, Shakira has been busy filming her new music video.

Last month she was seen on set of the clip looking absolutely sensational in a long gold dress as she sang down from a balcony in Barcelona, Spain.

The singer had been mixing business with pleasure and travelling back and forth to Poland to watch her man play in the championship.

Previously, there had been rampant reports that the Colombian beauty was pregnant with the couple's first child.

She's been dating footballer Gerard for over a year and they recently bought their first home.

But the Hips Don't Lie singer's representatives denied that she is expecting.

'Another false rumour,' Shakira's spokesperson told People en Español.

The smitten couple have, however, made the all-important decision to live together and recently purchased a large home in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona.

Shakira and the former Manchester United player met last year while shooting the video to her song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).

The song is the official track of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, which was won by Spain.

Her romance with Gerard comes after she was in an 11-year relationship with Argentine lawyer Antonio de la Rua.

Salman Khan flirts with Katrina Kaif in Banjaara song

After appreciating Katrina Kaif's beauty in Mashallah, Salman Khan flirts with the actress in the latest song Banjaara from the film Ek Tha Tiger. The full song video will hit the web soon.

The chemistry between Sallu and Kat is roaring, to say the least. Directed by Kabir Khan the film is set to hit theatres on August 15.

While the first trailer of the much-awaited film clocked a lot of clicks, it didn't go down well with certain people in Pakistan. The trailer has been banned in Pakistan.

Confirming the news, Rafiq Gangjee of Yash Raj Films (YRF), which has produced the film had said, “Certain films in the past have shown the country (Pakistan) in a bad light, but unfortunately, we have to pay the price. It’s possibly as a result of this that the theatrical trailer of Ek Tha Tiger has been restrained from being aired in Pakistan.”

Synopsis
In the dark world of intelligence and espionage, there are shadows without faces, and faces without names. Governments fight shadow battles through these soldiers of the unknown. Battles have no rules, no limits. Nobody on the outside knows what goes on in these secret organizations.

All information is guarded in the name of National security. But some stories escape the fiercely guarded classified files. Stories that become legends. This is a film about one such story, a story that is spoken about only in hushed whispers… a story that shook the very foundation of this dark world. But, like all reports that come out of this uncertain world, nobody will ever confirm those events. It may or may not have happened.

Movie Review: Challo Driver

Movie: Challo Driver
U; Romcom
Dir: Vickrant Mahajan
Cast: Vickrant Mahajan, Kainaz Motivala, Prem Chopra
Rating: *1/2 (out of 5)

Every once in a while, there comes a film in Bollywood that tries to steer clear off the clichés. Sadly, this is not that film. Though it begins on a promising premise of the lead actress portraying a professional chauffeur, the plot becomes more and more apparent with every passing minute. Besides, it’s not really the first time in Hindi cinema that the heroine has gotten behind the wheel for a living. Deepika Padukone played a cab driver once and so did Lara Dutta.

Kainaz Motivala (last seen in Ragini MMS) plays the eponymous driver and is strictly likeable but her performance doesn’t really drive the film. The same is true about Vickrant Mahajan who plays an uptight rich guy who seems stuck in the mould. For what it’s worth, he merits mention for his one-man-army avatar as he’s not only essaying the lead role but also making his directorial debut with this romantic comedy. Even the story and dialogues were written by him. Perhaps he had too much on his plate!

Speaking of performance, Prem Chopra remains an absolute delight throughout. In the second half, Manoj Pahwa provides the much-needed comical velocity. There’s not much to rave about the movie in terms of technicality. The background score is numb and the songs aren’t catchy either.

Talking of the positives, Challo Driver does try to be different by pointing out the need to do something differently when it comes to choosing a career. Anything, to be precise. In a nutshell, it makes an attempt to gauge the pulse of today’s youth. However, once the movie sets into motion, the lack of acceleration in the screenplay wrecks the show.
