You should not comment on people you don't know: Lindsay Lohan
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has hit back at American actress Rosie O' Donnell's claims of her being incapable of playing the screen icon Elizabeth Taylor.
O'Donnell had earlier said that Lohan, who will revive the late actress
in the TV movie "Liz and Dick", is not in the right frame of mind to
work, reported Contactmusic.
However, Lohan, 25, feels the chat show host does not know her well
enough to make such a statement. "It's funny that someone you don't know
at all can say something so intrusive and so knowing. You know, I did
one of my first interviews with her when I was little.
I was so excited," she said. The "Freaky Friday" actress was officially signed on to play the role of the Hollywood legend and said she would prove her critics wrong and fully commit to the project. "I know that I'm great.
I know Liz Taylor really well. I'm really lucky to be able to do this role and I just want to honour her the way that she should be honoured, because she's helped a lot of people in her life. I'm going to do the best that I can do with the role and I'm very excited to do it," said Lohan.

Movie Review : Tezz
Movie Review : Tezz
(U/A; Action thriller)
Dir: Priyadarshan
Cast: Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Sameera Reddy, Kangna Ranaut, Zayed Khan
For a thriller that created more buzz for an item number than for its
action, you know what to expect. And you don’t even have to wait too
long…. barely a few minutes into the film and Mallika Sherawat pops up
to do her Laila act. Over and done with the song, as you wait for the
action to unfold, there’s another coming along… Ajay Devgn and Kangna
Ranaut break into a romantic number. Never mind that there’s a bomb
ticking away on a train, lives of 500 passengers are at stake and time
is fast running out.
In a bid to infuse the melodrama bits
into Tezz, scant attention has been paid to the plot that keeps going
off the track. What’s most vital in a thriller is the frenetic pace with
which things have to move. There has to be that visible sense of
urgency. But this is missing, as an assortment of characters get tossed
around doing their own bits. And most importantly there is no one
keeping tabs on the time elapsed, these guys seem to be in no tearing
hurry.
The plot revolves around Akash (Devgn) who is an engineer but an
illegal immigrant in London. Finding himself on the wrong side of the
law, he is taken to task. But he decides to take revenge along with his
accomplices Adil (Zayed Khan) and Megha (Sameera Reddy) by planting a
bomb on a train. He is not a terrorist but is simply a victim of
circumstances. Now how many illegal immigrants get caught and go around
planting bombs to seek revenge? The premise itself is far from
intriguing. Akash also wants to make some cool millions by asking for a
ransom to live happily ever after with wife Nikita (Kangna Ranaut).
South star Mohan Lal may be the director’s buddy but looks out of
place as a cop. There is also Boman Irani as the railway traffic
in-charge and Anil Kapoor as the counter terrorism chief who is pulled
back into the job moments after his retirement speech and exclaims, “Woh
English filmein bahut dekhta hoga” when the perpetrator leaves him
befuddled. Just in case if you thought that the makers weren’t!
What catches your attention are the sequences featuring Sameera in a
raft and later speeding on a bike (yup… you read it right it is Sam, no
less) with the cops tailing her. And then Zayed resorts to some parkour
stunts with Anil trying to keep pace with him. These two moments apart,
what you also remember are the deeply-stained teeth of Devgn and the
different shades of orange that Kangna’s hairdo has.

Eva Mendes glows with meat-free diet
Actress Eva Mendes says the secret to her flawless skin is her meat-free diet. She only eats fish to keep her skin healthy.
She also drinks three litres of water a day to stay hydrated. "I eat a
lot of fish. I haven't eaten any meat at all for several years now and
I've noticed that my skin looks a lot better and much healthier,"
contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.
But she has other beauty mantras too. "I believe beauty starts
from within, so I exercise, eat well and drink three litres of water a
day. It all begins with hydration," she added.

'The Avengers' is incredibly smart
Cast: Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L Jackson
Director: Joss Whedon
Comic book fans who've kept their eyes peeled to the Internet for
every scrap of news since the film was first announced, will be
delighted to know that The Avengers more than lives up to their tall
expectations. The truth, in fact, is that even if you're unfamiliar with
the Marvel universe and the back-story of these superheroes, you're
still likely to find yourself cheering for the sheer spectacle that's up
on screen.
After successfully introducing movie-goers to Iron Man, Hulk,
Captain America, and Thor in previous films, the decision to get all
these big guns firing as one was brave to say the least…given that each
of them inhabits a different space, and comes with his own set of quirks
and characteristics. But writer-director Joss Whedon, a lifelong Marvel
fan, recognizes that challenge clearly, and uses exactly that to form
the basis of his story – in order to come together to fight a common
enemy, these superheroes must first sort out their own egos and
differences.
That enemy, by the way, is Loki, the Asgardian demi-god who you
might remember, was banished from the heavens at the end of Thor for his
propensity to create inter-galactic mischief. The Avengers opens with
Loki (Tom Hiddleston) stealing the Tesseract, a powerful energy source,
with which he intends to open a portal to space to summon an alien army
to help him enslave all mankind.
In response, Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson), director of
international peacekeeping agency SHIELD, gathers his best men:
billionaire industrialist Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr),
supersoldier Steve Rogers aka Captain America (Chris Evans), god of
thunder and Loki's brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth), ace scientist and
Hulk alter-ego Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), along with slinky Russian
spy Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and expert
marksman Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). Together they must
work as a team to thwart Loki's world-ending scheme…but there's that
small matter of fighting amongst each other to resolve first.
Director Joss Whedon maintains a cracking pace, switching deftly
between spectacular action sequences, and witty interaction scenes
between the characters. Expectedly, Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man gets the
best lines here, especially his clever putdowns to the others – to the
red-caped Thor he asks, "Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?",
while to Banner he says: "I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and
turn into an enormous green rage monster."
It's particularly remarkable how Whedon ensures that the story
remains rooted in the characters, without ever compromising on the
punch-ups and the adrenaline-pumping set-pieces. The film's third act
for one, a thrilling alien-bashing finale on the streets of Manhattan,
is pure fanboy wet-dream.
The performances are top-notch across the board, particularly
from Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk far more sympathetically than in
the two previous films that starred Eric Bana and Edward Norton as the
angry green fellow. Ruffalo nails the almost precarious relationship
between Dr Banner and his alter ego, and delivers plenty spontaneous
laughs.
In the end, The Avengers isn't just an ultimate spectacle, but
also incredibly smart and surprisingly humorous. I'm going with four out
of five for The Avengers. It raises the stakes for comic-book movies
hereon… Batman and Spider-man, are you listening?
