Japan recently declared July 3 as Lady Gaga Day. The streets of Taichung will be decorated with flags featuring the pop star, and a creativity contest will be held for fans to show off designs inspired by the singer. A veteran diplomat announced, "We are determined to designate the day as 'Lady Gaga Day'. During the event, Lady Gaga might meet the media and I will represent our city in bestowing upon her the keys to the city."

Pippa middleton's Bum Appreciation Day

Now, you may ask, 'Why can't we celebrate Pippa's bum everyday?" Well, 'coz the official date for that is September 29! Known as Pippa Bum Appreciation Day, a UK newspaper has solemnly described the event as "the brainchild of Jimmy Wevell, who described it as the time when Pippa will join the 'buttocks hall of fame'."

Bieber fans have always been the most pro-active fan community in the world. Hailing from Barbados, Rihanna was recently named the tourism ambassador for the country. She also has a day dedicated to her which surprisingly is also a national holiday! March 11 is Unfollow Charlie Sheen Day! "It's unfollow Charlie Sheen Day, can you do it?" declared one of the world's most renowned magazines. There were several reason for this decision such as "repeated violence on women", for "spelling 'corner' with a 'k'", and for "insulting Thomas Jefferson – repeatedly.' The blogger who initiated this revolution, wrote, "We're tired of #tigerblood and #winning. He has kids. And come on. It's not even Charlie Sheen tweeting, anyway."

It all started with a picture which shows Keanu Reeves sitting forlornly on a bench eating a sandwich. The photo even had an entire blog dedicated to it where they Photoshopped Reeves into other sad settings like " Forrest Gump" and a Lady Gaga video. The netizens wanted to know why Reeves was so upset and wanted to help.

I'm looking at Bollywood: Shibani Dandekar

She's a singer, anchor, dancer and model who is now thinking of taking a shot at Bollywood.

The multi-talented Shibani Dandekar, who had a successful stint as an IPL host this season, was recently in Hyderabad to host the finals of the Celebrity Cricket League, between the Karnataka Bulldozers and the Chennai Rhinos. Fresh from hosting the IPL, the CCL experience too left Shibani impressed. "The level of cricket in both the tournaments is definitely very different. But what I like about the CCL is the passion that the actors bring in to their game, even though they are not professional cricketers. The actors put in their heart and soul into it," says the chirpy anchor.

Also keeping her busy is her band DMajor, which she formed with her sisters - the popular anchor Anusha Dandekar and Apeksha. "For me, DMAJOR is huge. It is great to work with my sisters. Being on the road – touring and performing at various places - helps us bond with one another." Ask her about the equation she shares with her sisters and she says, "As people we are very different. But surprisingly as far as our taste in music is concerned, we are very much in sync. We share our love for music and that's how DMAJOR came into existence."

The pretty lady now has her eyes set on the ultimate goal – Bollywood. "I'm five years old in the industry. Within these five years I have been given the opportunity to perform. I love what I do – be it modeling, singing or even hosting a gig. Juggling between all of this is not tiring, but rewarding. I am looking at Bollywood. I'm preparing myself for that. I have met a few people, read a few scripts. Hopefully something materializes soon," she says before signing off.

Singer Amrita credits Salman for her success

Actress Beena Kak's daughter Amrita, who is riding high on success with chartbusters like " Character Dheela" from " Ready", gives credit to Salman Khan for making her a saleable name in Bollywood.

"Salman is an elder brother figure to me. He has been my driving force. He has got me on track, guided me from time to time, encouraged me to come out of my shell and whatever I am today - the credit goes to him completely for making me a saleable name," Amrita told IANS on the phone from Mumbai.

The 28-year-old made her singing debut in 2005 with "Just Chill" in " Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya" and then sang numbers like "Tujhe Aksa Beach ghuma doon" ("God Tusi Great Ho"), "Ankh vich chehra pyar da" ("Apne"), "Rafa dafa" ("Superstar") and "Love me, love me" ("Wanted").

Amrita says she never thought about becoming a professional singer.

"I used to learn music in school like everybody does. I was studying at St Xaviers in Mumbai. I was not very serious, but Salman helped me in finding my direction," she said.

"When he noticed that I like to sing and have a voice which could be moulded, he introduced me to Sajid-Wajid so that I could polish my skills. I started doing regular riyaz ever since there was no looking back for me," she added.

She is now happy to be a part of the music industry.

"I am glad people are liking my songs so much. Wherever I go, I find people tapping on 'Character Dheela'. It really gives me a kick. I feel the acceptance, I am happy that I joined this industry," she said.

"The music industry has experienced similar kind of changes like any other sector. With the advancement of technology and ideology, a lot of new avenues have opened up. People have become more open to accept newcomers.

"And one very important change that I have felt is that the industry is now respecting the different voice textures that people have. As my voice had a bit of a husky texture and I didn't know whether it would work in Bollywood or not. But the encouraging part is that they are accepting people for their individuality and appreciating the uniqueness that they bring along. It is a good time for very newcomers," she said.

What about the crazy lyrics?

"The latest change of crazy, spicy lyrics might be facing conflict but that is what people want now. They are for the masses and people connect with them easily. The lyrics are also very easy to hum," she said.

AW, ain't love grand? Visiting American teen sensation Miley Cyrus indulged in her two major fascinations yesterday - her Aussie hunk boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and more retail therapy.

A day after she and mum Tish swept through Sydney's fashionable Darlinghurst shopping district, Cyrus yesterday hit the shops with Hemsworth after the Phillip Island-born actor took a break from filming The Hunger Games in the US to visit his lady love in his home country.
Hemsworth flew in early yesterday and, after a few hours in Cyrus's suite at the Four Seasons, headed out to lunch at Wagamama's at Darling Harbour before the loved-up pair worked off lunch by trawling jewellery shops in Oxford St. And, proving the on-again, off-again romance is very much "on", they openly kissed and hugged.

After a lunch date, the on-off couple hit the Oxford St shops, visiting the Ganapati store in Paddington.

Penelope Cruz to Star in Next Woody Allen Film

LOS ANGELES – Woody Allen has officially confirmed the cast of his upcoming movie to be called “The Bop Decameron” and which will feature Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin and Roberto Benigni, the filmmaker’s publicist said Monday.

The cast also includes Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Judy Davis, Greta Gerwig, Alison Pill, as well as Ornella Muti, Antonio Albanese, Fabio Armiliato, Alessandra Mastronardi, Flavio Parenti, Riccardo Scamarcio and Alessandro Tiberi.

Besides directing, Allen will play a character in the movie whose storyline has not yet been revealed.

Filming will start on July 11 in Rome, and will be the first time Allen has used the Italian capital as the setting for one of his productions.

“The Bop Decameron” will be financed by Italy’s Medusa Film.

Both Cruz and Baldwin have worked previously with Allen, she in the 2008 film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” a role that won her an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, and he in the 1990 movie “Alice.”

Mandira Bedi becomes mother of a baby boy

After a long wait, finally TV actress turned anchor Mandira Bedi becomes mother of a baby boy. She delivered a baby boy on a very special day, i.e. on father’s day.  Mandira Bedi and her husband Raj Kaushal was overjoyed with the new born.  Raj and Mandira were married for the past 11 years.

The baby was born at Lilavati hospital on Friday, July 11 at 11.01 am. They named their son Vir.

Proud father Raj Kaushal tweeted: Had a superb Fathers day (my 1st) thanks to my little Vir. Thank you @mandybedi for the best gift in my life. I think I am in ♥again ☺Ladies and gentlemen. At 11.01am IST weighing 6 pounds the czar of our lives Mr Vir Kaushal has arrived. :-)

Says a friend of the actress, "After what happened at her birthday party three years ago Katrina developed a paranoia about hosting a party.

She wouldn't step out of her home for any social event for weeks after, so complete was her sense of mortification about the open war between the two Khans at her revelry."

She will invite all those who make a difference to her life in one way or another.

Says a source close to Katrina, "She wants to leave the nightmare of that birthday party behind and just enjoy the company of all her colleagues. It won't be a fake party. She won't invite anyone just for formality's sake."

Arnold Schwarzenegger Determined Marriage to Maria Shriver Isn't Over

Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't too good at fooling others, but it seems he can fool himself pretty well. He is determined that his marriage to Maria Shriver isn't over. Well, Arnold, this may be one time when the old adage, "It ain't over 'til it's over" bites you in the butt.

According to Hollywood Gossip, Arnold is still wearing his wedding ring. He was reportedly wearing it in the days following the media frenzy about his affair with Mildred "Patti" Baena--the one that resulted in a love child who is now 13 years old. One would certainly have expected that by now the ring would be relegated to a jewelry box or at least the top of the dresser. Does he think Maria is stupid?

Sources say Arnold Schwarzenegger was hell-bent on getting Maria Shriver back just days after their separation was made public--before the whole love child scandal hit the news. Okay, maybe he can get points for that one. After all, it really did appear like a mutual thing--reading that after 25 years things had simply worn out. But now that the world--including Maria, of course, knows about Arnold's philandering ways, why on earth would she take him back?

Sources say that even today, Arnold hasn't "fully abandoned hope" for a reconciliation between him and Maria Shriver. Someone clearly needs to remove this man out from under the hot California sun, and prescribe him a very healthy dose of reality.

Lindsay Lohan Tried to Fight Cameron Diaz

According to Lindsay Lohan's bodyguard, she once tried to pick a fight with Cameron Diaz. But why would she try to attack the Bad Teacher star?

While Diaz might play a foul-mouthed, mean-spirited character in the upcoming movie, it's hard to imagine that the bubbly blonde would want to pick a battle with anyone in real life. However, Lindsay obviously had a problem with the actress (at least according to her bodyguard).

A former bodyguard to multiple celebrities has penned a tell-all book entitled Memoirs of a Celebrity Bodyguard about some of his clients, including Lindsay Lohan. In the book he claims that Lohan tried to pick a fight with Cameron Diaz at a club one night after one of the fiery-tempered redhead's pals exclaimed, 'There is that b**ch! Go kick her a** right now."

Diaz was still with her ex Justin Timberlake at the time (who stars with her in Bad Teacher), and he tried to diffuse the situation by saying to Lindsay's bodyguard, "Cameron and Lindsay are looking at each other like they want to kill each other. I don't know what this is all about but I came out just to listen to some music and have a good time. I definitely don't want to fight you and I know you don't want to fight me.

This is what we can do. I will keep Cameron in our booth and you keep Lindsay in her booth."

Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake left the club 20 minutes later, avoiding any further drama. However, Lindsay's bodyguard never reveals what her problem was with Cameron. Did Linds approach her and get dissed in the past? It could be argued that she was she just drunk and/or drugged and looking to pick a fight with anyone (perhaps for the free publicity that would come with it), but her pal's comment makes it fairly obvious that Lindsay already had a problem with Cameron before she spotted her in the club. So perhaps Lohan was angry with Diaz for snagging a movie role that she wanted (In Her Shoes and The Holiday were released in the right time period), or perhaps Lindsay's anger had something to do with Justin Timberlake. After all, she did once call him out as a "cheater" on Twitter, so maybe he had come on to Linds at some point for a one-night stand (or vice versa), and she was simply jealous because Cam was in a serious relationship with her man (Lohan would have a hard time doing better than JT).

Whatever the case, hopefully Lindsay Lohan doesn't have a problem with Cameron Diaz anymore, because if she does, she's got to hate the fact that Diaz has landed the lead role in a movie that's sure to be a summer hit, as well as the fact that this old story about their run-in is drumming up free publicity for Diaz and Timberlake. Plus Cameron would probably kick her butt if she ever tried to start something again.

Ravi Kishan heaves a sigh of relief

The actor, who was in Kolkata on Monday to appear on the Bhojpuri version of " Kaun Banega Crorepati", said how things on the homefront took a toll on his mental health. "My father, who lives in a village in Uttar Pradesh, was bedridden for some time. 


His BP shot up. While everyone got worked up at home, I didn't know how to manage my personal and professional lives. But touchwood, now my father is doing much better and I'm back to work," he heaved a sigh of relief. The actor, who loves Kolkata, said it's like second home to him.

"I love Kolkata by the night. It's a lovely place to be in and people around are so warm. The city has a special place in my heart and that's the reason why I love coming back," he added.

She reveals that she is not a fan of the so called famous Sheila and Munni songs. The actress believes that her songs in the 90s were better as they had no double meaning, yet became a hit and made her famous. "Sheila and Munni were very sexy and sexually blatant songs, whereas Chandigarh is Kudi isn't like that. It's a fun song. I play a Punjabi girl Kammo who thinks the entire Chandigarh is crazy about her," revealed Raveena.

Speaking more about the song she said, "It's a very cute song. There's no double meaning or sexual nuisance. It's very clean." Well from Shehar Ki Ladki to Chandigarh Ki Kudi, Raveena still looks as ravishing. The song has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar and sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. It is choreographed by Raveena's close friend Shabina Khan.

TV channel awards 'Oscar'!

The organiser of prestigious Oscar Awards, Academy of Motion Picture and Arts and Sciences, today approached the Delhi High Court seeking an injunction against an Indian television channel for presenting the trophy similar to that of Oscar statuette to artists.

Filing a petition through advocate Praveen Anand, the Academy also sought damages of Rs two crore from the South based-Star Vijaya television channel, which organise Vijay
Awards for artists of Tamil film industry, for allegedly infringing its registered trade mark.

After hearing the parties, Justice G P Mittal referred the matter to the mediation centre and asked them to explore the possibility of necessary changes in the Vijaya Award
statuette.

Justice Mittal in his order made it clear that in case the parties failed to resolve the issue, the Academy would produce the prototype of the Oscar statuette before the court
which would then pass an appropriate order.

Appearing for the Academy, senior counsel Sanjay Jain submitted that there are striking similarities between the Oscar statuette and the statuette for the Vijaya awards.

That same day, the box carrying diamonds is also being delivered. The story then unfolds to reveal what happens to Imran and his friends when they come upon the box of diamonds."

Tom Hanks goes gaga over Bachchans

In a recent TV interview Hollywood actor Tom Hanks talked about B-Town.

When asked if he'd consider acting here, he nattily remarked that nobody would want to see him dancing and singing and it would look like a horror film.

However, he was quick to add that given a chance, he wouldn't mind making an exception for "the Big B ( Amitabh Bachchan) and Small B" (Abhishek) as he has "seen their work" and thinks "it would be interesting and fun to work in their kind of films". Sneak peek: Emraan's bathroom in his Latur hotel

Emraan Hashmi and cast of Dibakar Banerjee's political thriller had to give up their starry requirements at the shoot in Latur Emraan Hashmi, who was recently in Latur shooting for Dibakar Banerjee's political thriller Shanghai, starring Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin, was disappointed with the arrangements set up. The unit was put up in the finest hotel in Latur, but it fell way below the expectations for the stars! The place was like a common man's home sans five-star frills and fancy fare. And not exactly comfortable for the actors especially on a long shooting schedule. Emraan maintains, "At first we were all baffled by the arrangements made for our stay. But knowing that it was the best hotel around, we had no option but to stay there." Adding to that he says, "When I entered the washroom, it was another disappointment. It was back-to-basics for me, the bathrooms did not even have a shower, so we had to bathe with a mug and bucket only." The actor said he was reminded of his childhood days. "Such incidents happen rarely to us, but for a reason to leave you with memories to cherish from the past and to take it in your stride positively." Well Emraan, this is what happens when you try to find Shanghai in Latur.

Shahid's tribute to his loving stepmom Supriya Pathak

The actor convinces 'Mausam' producers to credit Supriya Pathak as associate director of the film Seeing stepmom Supriya Pathak's prominent contribution towards every department of Mausam, Shahid Kapoor has persuaded his producers to bill her as the associate director for the movie. Endless support According to members of the film's primary crew, Pathak has contributed enormously in shaping the film that is being directed by Pankaj Kapur. Says a source, "It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say the Shahid-Sonam Kapoor starrer couldn't have been made without Supriyaji. From the lighting to the script and dialogues, to making sure that the actors have their lines ready, to adjusting their clothes, to making sure Pankaj has his medicines and meals on time, she has been the driving-force of the film." Producer Sheetal Talwar reluctantly admits, "Yes, we are thinking of something on those lines (to bill Pathak as associate director)." A loving relationship A lovely offshoot of the shoot was the great camaraderie that was noticed between the veteran actress and Shahid. Says the source, "The actor treats her like his own mother. He is so gentle and considerate. There was one incident on location when Shahid, Supriyaji and a few crew members were conversing. One member interrupted her when she was talking. Shahid shut the guy up, turned back to her and smiled saying 'Toh aap kya keh rahi thi?'. It was such a small but thoughtful gesture." Turning director Apparently, Pathak has also decided to plunge into direction and might make her own movie, soon. Says the source, "We were truly surprised at how well she understands the camera. Yes, she is ready to direct a film." Both Shahid and Supriya were not available for comment.

Will Saif replace Akki as Masterchef India anchor?

Chhote Nawab might host the culinary show previously anchored by the action star Buzz is that Saif Ali Khan is being approached to host the second season of Masterchef. The Chhote Nawab is being considered the ideal anchor of the show that celebrates food good food. And the actor-producer is known for his taste of good life. Akshay Kumar hosted the last season reality cookery show. However, might not be able to do so due to a very busy 2011 schedule. Says a source, "The channel feels that Saif has it in him. As he hails from a family of nawabs, good food has been a part and parcel of his life. And Akshay's busy calendar this year, does not leave him with time for the show." B-stars on small screen Adds the source, "With more and more B-Town stars doing television shows, the channel is roping in Saif. They feel he, too, should try his hand at the small screen." Apparently, things are in the initials stages and only after the star has given his nod, a formal announcement will be made. With channels offering mega bucks to the stars, the small screen appears to be an extremely viable option. Last season, the channel felt Akki was the perfect choice as he has worked as a chef in Bangkok before he began his Bollywood innings. The Khiladi has always reiterated that apart from action what he digs is cooking. As reported 'Akshay takes fear to a new level (Hitlist, June 3), the star stated, "Action and cooking are my passion. That's the reason I do such shows. Daredevil stunts and cooking are things that gives me a high."

Amitabh Bachchan talks about splitting 'whatever little' he has between Abhishek and Shweta... Amitabh Bachchan is impartial as far as treating son Abhishek and daughter Shweta equally is concerned. Talking to us on Father's Day (Sunday), the veteran actor said that even before his children were born, he and wife Jaya Bachchan had decided they would not differentiate between a son and a daughter. And that whatever they have would be equally divided between them. Big B had also made another resolve he would treat his son like his friend. "It is a different relationship that I share with Abhishek compared to the relationship that was between my father and me. Mum, my brother Ajitabh and I preferred not to disturb him whenever he was busy. My father was a man of words and we did not want to disturb him in his thought process, not that we were scared of him, " the superstar confesses. However, as and when Jr Bachchan wants his advise, he will render it as his father, AB adds. As far as Shweta is concerned, Amitabh says that as a lady in the house he had always wanted to give her the liberty that she justly deserved. "Shweta is the first Bachchan in this generation since she was the first daughter born in the family. Sonam goes crazy over Hrithik

Sonam Kapoor is all praises for Hrithik Roshan and his new dance reality show Hrithik Roshan's grand debut on small screen with dance reality show, Just Dance has left B-Townies asking for more. Making her admiration public, Sonam Kapoor says she is not so fond of watching television, but has made an exception for Duggu. "I really enjoyed the show. It was spectacular, " the actress, who follows the popular US dance show informs. "There was actually a performance on a song from Jodha Akbar in the US dance show format, " she quips. Rooting for Hrithik, Sonam says, "I loved his entry. Only he can dance like that. There is no better person than him to judge a dance show. It's hard to even blink when you see him dance onscreen. Even his speech was straight from the heart." The young actress finds Hrithik's real life story very inspiring. "Its amazing that someone like him, who was advised by a doctor not to pursue dancing, ended up being the nation's best dancer. It just shows you can achieve anything with determination, grit and passion. Those contestants are really lucky to be mentored by him, " she adds. Speaking about Hrithik's HR locket that has caught her fancy, the fashion-conscious actress says, "I would love to own that HR locket." "I don't know if I should dance with him but I would love to when nobody is looking. Hopefully, I would get to do a film with him and we will have our own original number, " she giggles.

Don't expect a lot from my item song because I am fully clothed in it: Raveena Tandon

Raveena Tandon who is making a comeback to item songs with her number "Main Chandigarh di star" in "Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap", doesn't call it her comeback film.

"Comeback is a very overrated word. Whenever I do something after even a little gap people term it as a comeback. How many times will I make a comeback? I would prefer to call it a backdoor entry into films, " she said.

Raveena, who last had a release in 2006 with a film called "Sandwich", has really shaped up and lost oodles of weight. She is known for her moves in item songs like "Tu cheez badi hai mast mast", "Yeh raat" and "Shehar ki ladki".

But the actress maintains that her item song in "Bbuddah..." is not a typical item number.

"Honestly it's not a typical item song of today. The coinage of an item song nowadays is a little different. Now item means something else only, but I have maintained that please don't expect a lot from the song because I am fully clothed in it, " Raveena told in an interview.

Raveena said she loved her character in the film.

"It is a very cool, fun song. The character of the girl, who is a very talkative, over dressed, over the top person, and thinks of herself as a rockstar, is understood through this song, " she said.

"So, basically, it is an introduction to my character. It is catchy and I loved moving on it. The best thing was that we finished it in one shift, " she added.

In the film that has been directed by Puri Jagannath and is slated to hit screens July 1, the 36-year-old actress will be seen opposite Amitabh Bachchan and this will be her fourth film with the megastar after "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan", "Aks" and "Agni Varsha".

"When this film was offered to me first, I had thought that I won't be able to do it, but then everyone said that you have to do it because this is perfect for you and only you can do it.

Then I got to know that Mr. Bachchan is behind this, so I thought that even if I have five scenes with him, it will be great for me. This will be my fourth film with him, so in that thought I said yes to this film, " said the actress.

Reminiscing her experience of working with the 68-year-old actor this time around, Raveena said: "My equation with Mr. Bachchan depends on the film that I am doing with him. Like in 'Bade Miyan...', I was like a brat with him always, since he has seen me since my childhood.

But in 'Aks', it was very difficult for me because I had a very different role there."

A mother of two, Raveena said she is overawed by Bachchan.

"I have idolised him since my childhood. Whenever I meet him I start rambling, I become nervous when he is around and I goof up a lot; so throughout 'Aks' I kept a distance from him, so that I can do the strong, confrontational, intense scenes with him, " Raveena said.

"In this film, it was very comfortable because I'm playing myself a carefree person.

I was allowed to say anything to him because the character was like this; so I wasn't even scared that he might feel bad. It was very easy and fun to play this role with him, " she added.

Raveena has already completed a bilingual film called "Laboratory". She is also doing "Aap Ke Liye Hum" with Jaya Bachchan which is still under production.
