Asin acting pricey after 'Ready'?

It may appear as a shock to many of you but currently Asin has only one project in hand in the form of Housefull 2. Zarine Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez have already been cast as the other two leading ladies, which means Asin will have to share her screen space with them.

If the buzz is to be believed, a well known Bollywood producer wants to cast Asin but is displeased about the fact that she is quoting the same price as the likes of Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Now that’s too much to ask for!

Anyway, Asin’s good friend Salman Khan, despite willing to would not be able to grant her a role since the leading actresses of all his upcoming movies have been cast. Here is a look at Salman’s upcoming movies and leading ladies - Bodyguard with Kareena Kapoor, Ek Tha Tiger with Katrina Kaif and Kick and Dabangg 2 with Sonakshi Sinha.

Reportedly, the Kollywood producers and directors too are unhappy about the fact that she goldbricked them when she started receiving offers from Bollywood. Other than her only hit movie this year, Kaavalan starring Vijay, Asin has no Kollywood offers in her kitty. Whereas other stars like Ileana D Cruz, Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha have been receiving quite a few offers.

It is shocking that despite the super success of Ready, Asin is still falling short of offers. No Kollywood and no Bollywood, Asin? ever thought about moving to Hollywood?

Shamita Shetty quits acting; takes to interior designing!

Finally, Shamita Shetty throws in the towel and chooses a different vocation.

Shilpa Shetty’s younger sister Shamita Shetty has finally realized that her acting career is going nowhere. So the girl has decided to quit acting and choose a different vocation.

We hear that Shamita is all set to fly to London for a six-month course in interior designing. The move has got strong approval from elder sister Shilpa Shetty who herself seems to be on a sabbatical from Bollywood.

Shamita was last seen playing a significant role in the 2006 flop film Cash. After that she has made forgettable cameos in films like Heyy Babyy and Hari Puttar. Shamita’s Bollywood inning started in 2000 with the Aditya Chopra film Mohabbatein. During the ten years of her career as an actress she has also worked in a few Tamil and Telugu films.

But now, Shamita has decided to go the Twinkle Khanna way and become an interior designer.

Zarine Khan talks about Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan

 Zarine Khan finally breaks her silence about link-ups with Salman Khan.

 

Despite Zarine Khan’s flop act in Veer, the Khan family gave her a second chance via an item number (Character Dheela Hai) in Ready. This gave the rumormongers a chance to speculate a possible romantic relationship between Zarine and Salman Khan.

After walking the ramp at a fashion show, Zarine decided to clear the air about her and Salman Khan being together and said: “All this is nothing but gossip. Salman is a very dear friend of mine. His name is linked with everyone. It’s a poor thing that he is linked with whoever he is seen with. And I have nothing to say about it.”

Zarine was probably the second girl after Sneha Ullal who looked like Salman’s ex girlfriend. Rather than being known for her acting skills, Zarine is known as Katrina Kaif’s clone! Speaking about the competition between her and Katrina Kaif, she said: “Why should I compete with her? She is my senior and is already on the top. There is no question of competing with her. I am the next generation after her. I definitely look up to her and will follow her, but no competition.”

Now that’s a smart answer, Zarine. Dismissing rumours about dating Salman and declaring a no-competition treaty with Katrina Kaif…two gossips cleared in one day!! You readily seem to be the new veer actress of Bollywood. Wink.

Is Salman Khan blessing Kareena Kapoor?

One really can’t blame you if you really thought that actress Kareena Kapoor is seeking actor Salman Khan’s blessing in this picture, considering Salman’s renewed status as the box-office king following his latest hit.But it’s just a photograph taken during a scene being shot for film Bodyguard in Patiala. However, considering that the actor is being called the Rajinikanth of Bollywood, it won’t be a surprise if people really do line up for Bhai’s (as he’s fondly called)blessings in the coming days. 

He’s really riding a success wave and it seems can do no wrong. Whether it’s in giving hit films with record-breaking collections (Wanted, Dabangg and Ready), anchoring successful reality shows (Dus Ka Dum, Bigg Boss) or introducing sensations (Katrina Kaif and Sonakshi Sinha). The latter reason, one should say, can actually not be a bad reason if Kareena does seek Salman’s blessing. But what the picture really does is reveal the heroine’s look for the film, which is traditional and close to her look in film Jab We Met. 

As for Salman, the actor who was once dropped off endorsements at the slightest scandal or fisticuffs and replaced by contemporaries like Akshay Kumar is considered ‘solid wicket’ this time around. The actor, himself, apparently seems amused by people’s reaction to his success.

“Ya doing well, a friend of mine said that Ready is like HAHK on steroids hehehe. Thought it was funny,” he tweets. For those in the dark, the HAHK that he mentions is Hum Aapke Hain Koun, a phenomenal success to his credit in the nineties. If one recalls, he had apparently told one of his heroines in the nineties, “I’ll still be playing the hero while you may go on to do older roles.” Guess, no one predicted his success better than him!

It’s the third season of Swayamvar on Imagine. And this time, it’s primetime heroine, Ratan Rajput who the channel is giving over in marriage. 

Swathed in yards of silk, zardosi and brocade, in elaborate hairdos and tons of jewellery, complete with maang tika and jhumkas, the emaciated Ratan, who struck primetime gold with her turn as the poor farmer’s daughter in Zee’s Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, looks a bit out of place in this sad swayamvar. The glow of a wannabe bride is certainly missing despite layers of pancake and her 16 suitors, barring a couple of them, seriously make you reach out for your remote. 

At the time of writing, the wedding tamasha was two grooms less. While she ‘eliminated’ one for being “too good”, the massive Dolly Bindra who arrived on an elephant (is PETA watching it?) dressed like a Christmas tree helped the aspiring bride in eliminating another.
