Delhi's Deepika is Ekta's Ragini

Still from Ragini MMS and (R)Deepika
Still from Ragini MMS and (R)Deepika
She tried to hide it, but we managed to pull the cat out of the bag. Ekta Kapoor's forthcoming paranormal thriller Ragini MMS, which is already making news with the 'A' certificate and unrestrained sexual scenes, is based on 22-year-old Delhi girl Deepika.

Talking to Mumbai Mirror last evening, Deepika however decided to keep certain things about her a secret still. "I don't wish to reveal my surname. You can understand why. But yes, Ragini MMS is inspired by what happened to me one night when I went out with my boyfriend. I was 19 then," revealed the girl.

Like in Ekta Kapoor's forthcoming film, Deepika and her boyfriend (name withheld by request) had gone out for a weekend to a house in the outskirts of Delhi.

"The area was very dark. Somehow, I got a lot of negative vibes when I entered that place. But then when you are with a person you trust, you know how it is.

I did not pay any attention. But I was very uncomfortable throughout the night. All along, I felt somebody was watching us," said she.

After a night in each other's arms, Deepika was shocked to see the laptop they carried switched on. Her boyfriend had recorded the entire passionate interlude.

So why go with him in the first place? "I was with him for five months already. I guess we wanted to take the relationship to the next level. He suggested we go to this place his friend owned. It was our first night out."

The effect of this shocking experience remained with Deepika for almost a year after that. The girl who believes in ghosts, went on to add, "Agar kuch dikh nahi raha tha toh wahaan zaroor koi paranormal activity ho rahi thi. I felt that that the place where we went was very eerie."

No more with the guy she went on this shocking night out with, Deepika quipped, "In fact, I never met him after that incident."

While Deepika was recovering from this shocking episode in Delhi, Ekta Kapoor was toying with the idea of making a film on the MMS scandals in Mumbai. And that's exactly when Deepika's friend who works in the creative department in Balaji asked Ekta if she'd like to meet a girl who had gone through a real life MMS incident.

Grabbing the offer, Ekta met Deepika and incorporated her life story in Ragini MMS. "First I shared everything with my friend in Balaji, then I also spoke to Ekta," confirmed Deepika, who later even signed a contract with Balaji.

Deepika who is currently in Mumbai wants to see the final film. "I don't know why Ekta is not showing it to me. I am very stressed," added the girl.

"Deepika's concern is justified. We'll show her the film. But the release date is still a good eight days away. So, perhaps sometime next week," said a source from the production house.

The MMS, which led to a traumatic year in Deepika's life, however is not on the internet. A source from Balaji confirmed, "We guess she convinced her boyfriend never to do that, and he too understood her perspective."

Meanwhile...

A FEW hoardings of Ragini MMS were pulled down in the city yesterday on charges of vulgarity.

A big hoarding was pulled down near the domestic airport. Chaudhary, who was in charge of putting up the hoarding, said, "The airport authorities asked us to remove the hoarding because it was cheap."

Hours later a few residents from a colony ripped off another display near Andheri station. "They said it was too vulgar to be put up in a residential area," revealed a source. This has left Balaji very angry. An official from the production house demanded, "This is an absolute mockery of democracy. Do we not have freedom of expression here?"

Katrina, Deepika, Sonam ditch Ranbir

All of Ranbir Kapoor's 'girlfriends' Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor decided to not to attend his party on Wednesday night, despite RK personally inviting them.

Even Imran Khan, stayed away. This is a clear signal that none of these people are ready to make nice with RK. Read on to find out the possible reasons...

Sonam Kapoor: After Ranbir's dad Rishi Kapoor lambasted her in print, Sonam has kept her distance from the Kapoor family. Later on, as a gesture of truce, they approached her to be part of RK's world tour but she turned it down. She admitted in a recent interview that she wasn't on talking terms with him. Ranbir called her personally, but though she was in the city, she chose not to go for it.

Deepika Padukone: Ranbir's ex-girlfriend was not in the city, so she had a valid reason. One can argue that she could've flown in for one evening for the bash, like she does for the IPL matches, but she obviously has her priorities in place. She is cordial to RK when they meet in public, but after her recent ouster from Ayaan Mukherjee's film, she sees no reason to go out of her way to bond with Ranbir.

Katrina Kaif: She has more than one reason for skipping the bash even though she was in Mumbai. Apart from still nursing a broken heart, she was shooting for a film. Her alibi is that she has a night shoot and then an early morning flight to Thailand. But if she wanted to, she would have dropped by. After all she lives five minutes away from his house. Just last week Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan entered Maheep's birthday party post 4 am. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Imran Khan: Ranbir's closest industry rival was also shooting with Katrina. But he did go home later in the night, which is two minutes away from where the Kapoor lad lives. So, if Imran wished to say a hi to Ranbir, he would have. The fact that he didn't, says a lot.

Katrina launches Barbie inspired by her

Katrina Kaif

All dolled up! The right phrase to describe actress Katrina Kaif, who was dressed like a doll when she came to launch a Barbie doll inspired by her.

The actress was dressed in a fuscia satin gown, exactly like her doll, for the Wednesday event.

"It's a very special day. This is a huge honour to have something like this on your name. I hope everyone likes the doll. The whole thing is very exciting," Katrina told reporters here.

The campaign is called " Barbie I Can Be a Movie Star".

"It's a small doll and there was no intention of changing its features, so it does not resemble me completely," said the actress.

Rani to be queen of mafia!

The occasion was the launch of a non-fiction book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai', based on women gangsters of the Mumbai underworld, by noted crime journalist Hussain Zaidi at a bookstore in Mumbai.

From Kamathipura to Dongri, from assassins to molls, the book is a collection that tells the stories of women who have become legends in Mumbai's streets, lanes and back-alleys. Absorbingly told, impeccably researched, Mafia Queens of Mumbai reveals a side of Mumbai's underworld that has never been seen before.

Actress Rani Mukherjee and filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj were the special guests who unveiled the book for the renowned author whose previous work includes the much acclaimed 'Black Friday: The True Story of the Bombay Bomb Blasts' which was later made into a film by Anurag Kashyap.

Guess Rani's recent portrayal of a crime journalist in 'No one killed Jessica' made her an apt choice to launch the book. Draped in a beautiful saffron sari, the actress told TOI, "I would love to play a mafia queen in a gangster film which will hopefully be an adaptation of this book. I've never played such a character and this seems to be the perfect opportunity."

We are told Rani's co-star Vidya Balan too was apparently invited but the actress couldn't make it owing to her busy shooting schedule.

Sonakshi isn't my best friend: Zarine

To a girl looking in from the outside, being labelled a Katrina Kaif doppelganger would be a compliment worthy to boost a young lady's self-esteem for quite sometime.

But for Salman's protégé Zarine Khan, who has been trying to recover from her debut in the box-office flop Veer, it has been more of a bane in her professional life.

The actress revealed, "You know after the release of Veer, I was lost. The film did not do as well as expected and I was not getting big offers.

Only new directors were approaching me. Then, there were all these comparisons about me being a Katrina Kaif look-alike and how I would eventually disappear like Sneha Ullal.

I was very insecure and had no film background. However, it's been over a year and with work coming in, I have been able to dispel all talks about me disappearing. However, now I have to shed one more issue and that's being a Katrina look alike."

The uncanny resemblance to Kaif has funnily enough made people believe Zarine too is from the UK. And with her British background being spread with conviction she is rumoured to have difficulty speaking Hindi. However, Zarine set the record straight, as she said, "There is this misconception that I am from UK and I am 26-27 years old.

The fact is I have been born and raised in Bombay and I am just 23 years old. I don't know why everyone feels that I can't speak Hindi. I cannot only speak Hindi but also Marathi and that too fluently. Mujhe koi problem nahi hai. I just hope that once and for all, it is clear."

Also, having a Dabangg Khan in your corner comes with the difficult task of dealing with the other ladies in his life, who are competing for his attention. Just recently, we heard how Sonakshi, green with envy, pushed Zarine at one of Salman's parties.

Zarine, the diplomat, laughed and simply said, "I don't think anyone needs to be insecure as Salman gives attention to everyone.

I won't say that Sonakshi is my best friend. We don't go out for coffee and have long conversations, however, there is no bad blood. When the news came out, Sonakshi smsed me and all is fine."

Although, she is happy with the attention Salman gives her, he has not been the only man to have catapulted Zarine's career. Contrary to popular belief, it was Sajid Naidawala and not Salman who offered her the role in Housefull 2.

Incidentally, Zarine's aunt and Sajid's sister have been friends for 20 years. Zarine said, "Sajid has practically seen me growing up. My aunt used to stay in the same building. However I started interacting with Sajid only after I joined the film industry."

With all the criticism she received for being overweight in Veer, the actress is all geared up to reveal her enviable look in Housefull 2.

She excitedly said, "Everybody wrote me off. People said I was very overweight but no one understood that I had to gain weight for the film. However, I had to really work hard to get back to what I am today.

The results are now to be seen. Now, with Housefull 2, I will be able to surprise people. I am work out twice a day and follow a strict diet."

The first 'item boy' of Bollywood

Taaha Shah, the first Bollywood hero to have done a full-fledged item song, speaks about his film 'Luv Ka The End'.

Taaha Shah, the latest entrant in Bollywood who makes his debut with Y-Films' Luv Ka The End this Friday, seems expectedly excited. Interestingly the actor had actually auditioned for a Karan Johar film but got lucky with a Yash Raj production. " Sab kismet ki baat hai ", smiles the actor. "When I came to Mumbai, I didn't know anybody. During last year's IPL, I had shot for a Puma ad and then I got a call from casting director Shanu. I was called for an audition for a Karan Johar film. Though that didn't work for me, later I was called again for the auditions of Luv Ka The End ."

So how did he impress the Chopras in the audition? "Adi sir (Aditya Chopra) and Yash Chopra liked the way I scratched my head. Main pagalon ki tarah khuja raha tha and they simply loved it", laughs Taaha.

He plays Luv Nanda in the film who cheats on his girlfriend. Taaha immediately comes to his character's defense. "Luv Nanda is not a compulsive flirt but his bigger motive in life is to find the hottest girl for himself. That's the reason he is never stable with his girlfriends".

The actor who gets beaten and bruised by his ex-girlfriend in the film, played by Shraddha Kapoor, admits that he used to be the butt of all jokes during the shoot. In fact Taaha Shah would be perhaps the first Bollywood hero to have done a full-fledged item song getting into the shoes... or rather ghagra choli... of the likes of Munni and Sheila. " Ghagra mein achchi hawa milti hain ", laughs the actor who is not embarrassed of his drag act. "I studied for six months in NYFA in Abu Dhabi, where I learnt that a good actor should not be scared of how he looks. If my character demands, I would not shy away from looking like a clown or even having a deformed face".

Taaha was not just bullied by his costars but also by director Bumpy. The actor remembers one such incident. "We were shooting in Lokhandwala for an early morning, 4 am schedule. The scene needed some girls to chase me. I suggested Bumpy to allow me to jump over a car for the sequence. While he was not much convinced, I insisted. So a crane shot was taken and Bumpy made me jump over the car for over six times. I was very excited about this particular scene, but when I watched the final version of the film, it was edited out", says the actor on how he was sweetly conned.

Ask him one thing that he learnt while shooting for the film and, while you would expect a reply like being faithful in love or something alike, Taaha says, "I learnt to ride a bike". We just wish Luv Ka The End helps him start his journey in Bollywood on a smooth note.

Jacqueline Fills Mallika's Sensual Shoes!

She's filling up some pretty sensual shoes. And it's quite a tall order too. Jacqueline Fernandez, Sri Lankan model and B'Town actress has sashayed her way into Murder 2 and the onus of measuring up to Mallika Sherawat's saucy standards must weigh heavily on her mind.

Jacky, however, isn't let that worry her pretty mind too much asserting that "comparisons are normal" since MS got her act together in Murder and she landed the sequel.

"I've never met Mallika and I don't know her personally," revels Jacqueline in a media quote. "But from what I've seen she is a good actor."

Reportedly, Murder 2 shows no deficit as regards skin show and steamy sequences and Jacqueline is hardly groaning over it. Says Jacky, "As a model I've done so many photo shoots and shows and am very comfortable with my body." (meaning, I have no issue revealing my shapely bod)

She adds significantly, "When we shoot such scenes there are 50 to 100 crew members around and so it's all work and no play."

Jacqueline is sanguine of being presented in the right light (sensually, that is) and nurses no apprehensions as regards the flick. "The Bhatts are known to make good films and Mohit Suri is a good director too."

Insisting that she shares "super chemistry" with "Emi" (Emraan Hashmi, dumbo) Jacky's eagerly looking forward to the "audience's reaction to our pairing."

Breaking News: Hollywood flicks shot in Rajasthan

Shooting of the show underway near the Badi Lake in Udaipur
Shooting of the show underway near the Badi Lake in Udaipur
Rajasthan is an undisputed choice for TV show makers, courtesy its exotic locations and easy availability of animals

It is not just Bollywood and Hollywood flicks shot in Rajasthan that have made the state a hit with international and Indian filmmakers. The cast and crew of international TV series like " Battle Of Quadisiyah" and " Caminho Das Indias" had stayed here for weeks to shoot there shows, helping it earn great international acclaim. Reason? Rajasthan boasts impressive structures which carry great historical significance. "According to me, there is so much to explore in Rajasthan especially for those who head to the state with the aim of making either a show, an ad film or a flick. For instance, the forts, citadels and palaces that one finds here sets Rajasthan apart from what one gets to see in other parts of India," says Sanjay B Soni, who has been handling international and national projects in Rajasthan for over a decade now. And the credit, he believes, goes to his entire team that works together to ensure the shoots happen without any hassles.

For director Muthana Subh, who hails from Syria, Rajasthan ought to be the destination for his forthcoming project too. Muthana, who was in Rajasthan last year to shoot "Battle Of Quadisiyah", tells JT he had an amazing experiencing while working with the Indian cast and crew. "I had a great time shooting for the series last year. Be it the people, locales, weather conditions, virtually everything worked in our favour while we were in Udaipur," he says.

And as he says, his experience has been such that he wouldn't mind coming back to Rajasthan for another shoot. "India is undoubtedly a beautiful country, with the options to shoot increasing by the day. From what we have seen and heard so far, Rajasthan attracts several filmmakers because it is cost-effective and offers several exotic locations. I hope to get back to Rajasthan to shoot another show."

The easy availability of elephants, camels and horses in large numbers in Rajasthan also proved advantageous for his team. "If you ask us about the cost, it is relatively cheaper to what we would have spent in our country," he says.

Anil Kapoor to act with Clive Owen

Actor Anil Kapoor has bagged a role in another Hollywood project. The actor will be playing a Mumbai cop in Roger Donaldson's thriller 'Cities'.

After Tom Cruise, the Bollywood actor will also get a chance to share screen space with Clive Owen in this film which deals greed and ambition of people across the world.

The film is a story about three people in three different cities in the world. The first story involves a New York-based hedge fund manager (Owen) who has everything he wants - money, sex and power; the second story is about a London-based young couple who want to buy their first home and the third story is about Mumbai cop's (Anil) fight against corruption.

In an exclusive interview with the Sun the 24-year-old star said: "I was thinking the other day that no one ever rings me up or anything.

In fact, things get so bad sometimes he just stays in his hotel room - and drinks.

He added: "I just hang there and get drunk. It''s terrible."

Is Britney Spears engaged?

Could we hear the sound of wedding bells for Britney Spears soon?

It looks like, after the pop singer was spotted with boyfriend Jason Trawick wearing a sparkling band on her engagement finger.

Just a couple of weeks back she has posed for those 'family' snaps by the Grand Canyon

Top 5 topless babes of Bollywood

Owing to the demands of the script or that of the sequence in a film, Bollywood actress often goes topless, donning little or no clothes. One need not be judgmental about it so long the revealing posture does not infringe upon the artist’s comfort zone. Quite a few films directed by the legendary Raj Kapoor, featured women scantily clothed. But none of them looked ugly or atrocious for the director with his eye for detail could ensure the artistic appeal and beauty.

1.Kareena Kapoor
Qurbaan one of the releases of Karan Johar portrayed Kareena topless. The film dealing with terrorism which has become a worldwide phenomenon featured the off screen lovers Kareena and Saif as husband and wife. In enacting a close shot involving her beau Saif Kareena exposed her completely. Bebo looked perfectly comfortable and awesome in the romantic sequence.

2. Neha Dhupia
Hot and sizzling Neha Dhupia, who went out of reckoning for quite a while, has been quick to reassure her presence with a bang. As part of her campaign in favour of eco friendliness, Neha went topless to feature in a calendar. The calendar geared to the cause of saving environment has the stylish actress highlighting the various shades and elements constituting nature. The photography by Jatin Kampani is a perfect blend of sensuousness and aesthetics.

3. Bipasha Basu
It is nothing unusual for dusky Bengali bombshell, Bipasha Basu to go topless. Notwithstanding her bold ways, the reputed model and actress is endowed with the innate capability to carry herself with élan and dignity. Very recently Bips went sans clothes to feature on the front cover of a glamour magazine, appearing daring and stunningly glamorous as always.

4. Mallika Sherawat
Mallika Sherawat does not lag far behind when it comes to revealing. On account of not making much headway in acting, the actress has decided on a few item numbers. One of them will be enacted free of cost. To make her presence felt she has hit upon a topless pose to make it to the cover page of a well known men’s magazine. The topless beauty manages an unsuccessful blend of oriental and occidental. Red bindi and heavily designed jewellary in pearl and gold falls out of place with mini skirt and exposed chest.

5. Mandira Bedi
Unfortunately during the recently concluded World Cup Mandira Bedi could not make it to the commentary box along with some of the leading names in cricket. The whole nation was thus deprived of having a glimpse of her body hugging, transparent chiffons and spaghetti lined blouses. Much to the amazement of men, Mandira followed Mallika and Bipasha’s suit. She featured completely topless on the cover page of Vogue, a popular glamour magazine.

It is surprising and outrageous finding a great many of our actresses baring and going topless for the sake of highlighting themselves. Despite deleting the ethical angle of such stunts and overlooking the social context of our country, one does not understand the rational behind such moves. Apart from flaunting and catering to the sensuous appeal of a few men, they have no artistic purpose to serve. Neither do they serve to impress the producers and directors of Bollywood. For establishing ones root in acting there are other talents to be honed, rather than focus on cheap sensuousness.

Top five kissing scenes from Bollywood

Those olden days have vanished where hero and heroine represented as two beautiful red roses were rubbing against each other in order to make audiences understand a kissing scene. These days a kissing scene that is genuine and real is becoming a mandate and nothing is as sexy as compiling a list of top five kissing scenes from the grand movies of Bollywood.

1. Madhuri & Vinod Khanna

Dayanvan The number 1 kissing scene that was quite hot was shared compassionately by young and beautiful Madhuri and Vinod Khanna who was much senior looking in the movie `Dayawan'. It was truly sensual where Madhuri played the role of a prostitute and Vinod Khanna was a gangster who was newly coming up. `Dayawan' is still today remembered by many people for this kissing scene between the lead pairs which was considered as super sexy.

2. Karishma Kapoor and Aamir Khan

Raja HindustaniThe number 2 kissing scene that was super hot was the one performed excellently by Karishma Kapoor and Aamir Khan in the movie `Raja Hindustani' which was one of the superhit movies of Bollywood. Aamir Khan is a perfectionist in all his features and even in this kissing scene, Aamir had shared an optimal chemistry with his lead heroine Karishma Kapoor.

3. Rani Mukherjee and Kamal Hassan

Hey Ram The number 3 enigmatic kissing scene amongst top five kissing scene of Bollywood is undoubtedly by greater actor as well as kisser Kamal Hassan. In movie `Hey! Ram' he kissed the magnificent Rani Mukherjee. This kissing scene was sensuous and cannot be forgotten by viewers. Kamal Hassan has tried to play intimate scenes with many top heroines of Bollywood cinema and the outcome has always proved to be an exotic for viewers.

4. Zeenat Aman and Shashi Kapoor

Satyan Shivam SundaramThe number 4 kissing scene was the one that was shared by ravishing Zeenat Aman and ever charming actor of Indian Cinema, Shashi Kapoor. They shared a lovely lip lock in the movie that was truly sensational. It was inevitably a rocking kiss in the grand movie of Hindi cinema, `Satyam Shivam Sundaram'.

5. Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff

Vardi
The number 5 kissing scene of Bollywood goes to sexy act which was elegantly performed by Madhuri Dixit and handsome looking Jackie Shroff. This kissing scene was performed in the movie `Vardi' which was an emotional one.

It is even quite interesting to explore few of the kissing scenes in the Bollywood cinema where it does not stand in the top five lists. This was a kissing scene shared by Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan in the movie `Salaam Namaste'. However, it may be because the kiss was quite urbanized to be listed in the top five kissing scenes of Bollywood. The other kissing scene is Indian cinema which could not be enlisted is the one shared by Bipasha Basu and her beau John Abraham in the film `Jism'. This kissing scene was also not much effective to be enlisted in the list of top 5 kisses of Indian cinema.

Emraan Hashmi though denoted as serial kisser but his kissing scene which he shared with Mallika Sherawat in many of their movies cannot be enlisted since it did not at all magnified a natural scene of kissing according to the critics.
