Aguilera to celebrate belated birthday on New Year’s Eve

London – Singer Christina Aguilera is planning to spend New Year’s Eve by belatedly celebrating her 30th birthday. 

The singer-actress reached the landmark age Dec 18 but was too busy at the time promoting her movie ‘Burlesque’ to celebrate properly. So she is making the turn of the year a double celebration, reports showbizspy.com.

‘My actual birthday was in December and I turned 30! It was a big one – the next chapter of my life. I’m a Sagittarius. But, because I was working so much on the movie, I postponed my birthday party, so New Year’s Eve is my big 30th birthday party,’ she said.

Rather than be worried about turning 30, the pop star insists she is pleased to leave her 20s behind her because she now knows so much about life going into a new decade.

‘Being 30 is better than being 20, I’ll tell you that. The lessons I’ve learned and how I’ve grown is incredible,’ she said.

LiLo to launch ‘glamorous’ shoe line next autumn

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan is planning to design shoes after completing her current stint in rehab. 

In a bid to expand her fashion range the ‘Mean Girls’ star will be introducing footwear to her 6126 fashion brand, and her designs are expected to be debuted next autumn (11).

“(The shoes are) classic, glamorous, timeless with a sexy flair… She’ll finalise everything when she’s out (of rehab),” the Daily Star quoted a representative for Lohan as telling EOnline.com,

Lohan is due to leave a clinic in California next week (03Jan11) after serving three months of court-ordered treatment for breaching her probation relating to a 2007 DUI arrest. (ANI)

Come Friday and Bollywood gets set for yet another slot of releases. This week will see the release of only small budget films in theaters across India. Therefore we do not get to celebrate the New Year with our big stars! The film Bhoot and Friends brings back to the big screen erstwhile leading man Jackie Shroff. Like one of his earlier ventures Bhoot Uncle, this film too shows the actor playing a ghost, though the ghost does not cause harm to anyone.

The story revolves around a group of friends, all school kids who spend their summer vacations searching for a lost treasure. They cross paths with another man who happens to be evil by nature and is also on the lookout for the same treasure. At this moment, the ghost or bhoot Jackie Shroff takes it upon himself to protect the kids from harm.

The film has been made keeping the tastes of children in mind. Though Bollywood has been there and done that before, Bhoot and Friends promises to appeal to children who would love to watch another bunch enjoying vacations in a different way! The film also reveals some good actors amongst the group of friends featured in Bhoot and Friends.

Director Manish Gupta, who started his career as the writer of Amitabh Bachchan starrer movie Sarkar, is coming up with another issue based film Hostel, which will release on 31st December. The film stars Taarzan: The Wonder Car fame actor Vatsal Seth in the lead role of a college student. Tulip Joshi of Matrubhoomi and Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai fame is playing the female lead in this film.

Ragging has become an integral part of hostel life in most of the educational institutions in India. Director Manish Gupta has tried to show the dark side of this hostel life through this movie. Many students become the target of hostel ragging every year and some of them cannot bear the torture in the name of ragging and opt for suicide.

The students are often asked by the seniors to strip in front of everyone, sometimes they are even raped by the seniors. These humiliating experience make such students very cruel and they take revenge from their juniors next year. In this way, the evil tradition continues killing many students and destroying career of many.

In this film, Vatsal will be shown entering such a notorious hostel and then he gets ragged by the seniors. It will try to focus the string of incidents following this ragging and will try to reflect the frustrations of the victims. It will be an eye opener for the society and the educational institutions.

The victims of ragging often feel shy to report the sexual abuses to their parents or teachers and feel suffocated from inside. This film might help people to understand the plight of such victims and some serious action is taken to prevent such cases.

So, it is a must watch film for everyone in the year-end eve!

Teen pop sensation Justine Beiber has gone on to say  that the pictures of him and Selena Gomez the star of the telly series Wizards of Waverly Place in a lip lock which have been doing the rounds on the web are fake.

According to reports the star has also expressed his concern over the fact that he hoped there were not many who had bought those pics thinking them to be real since that would mean the waste of a lot of money as according to him, the pics clearly are not his and as alleged Selana’s, rather the pics have been photo-shopped.
