I drew inspiration from Shakira, says Katrina

Kolkata, Dec 11 – Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif says she drew inspiration from pop star Shakira for the sizzling item song ‘Shiela Ki Jawani’ from her upcoming film ‘Tees Maar Khan’.

When asked by reporters here about comparisons of her dance in the superhit number with that of Shakira, she said she can only dream of such comparisons.

‘I can only dream of such comparisons. To be very frank, I drew inspiration from her. If my dance in the song ‘Shiela ki Jawani’ reminds the viewers of Shakira, it’s a huge reward for me,’ said Katrina Kaif, who was in Kolkata with her ‘Tees Maar Khan’ co-star Akshay Kumar Saturday for the promotion of the film.

She was all praises for director Farah Khan and gave her the credit for the grand success of the song.

‘We have worked hard for the song. But the credit goes to Farah and her conceptualisation of the song. She is a brilliant choreographer,’ the actress said.

‘Tees Maar Khan’, directed by Farah, is slated to release Dec 24. It has already hit the headlines for its scorching item song ‘Shiela Ki Jawani’ featuring Katrina.

Asked about her role, Katrina said she is not so bold in the film as it seems from ‘Shiela Ki Jawani’.

‘My role is of an aspiring actress. She is not so very aggressive as it looked in the song. She is very naive and sweet. She is the girlfriend to Akshay in the film. She lands herself into trouble because of her own stupidity. It’s a fun kind of a character,’ the actress said.

The movie revolves around Tarbez Mirza Khan, a criminal played by Akshay, and his girlfriend Anya played by Katrina who gets the job of robbing antiques worth Rs.500 crore from a heavily guarded moving train. The film is an action comedy.

Karisma refutes divorce rumor

Recently, the news has gained momentum that all is not well in Karisma Kapoor’s paradise and the duo is contemplating divorce. Opposing the report, Karisma declares that all is well between them and there is no question of separation.  

“The couple is not discussing a divorce at all. In order to spend time with family, Sunjay Kapur spends every weekend with his family in Mumbai”, said the statement.

It was reported that Karisma was highly upset to know that Sanjay is a womanizer and is currently dating ex-wife of Dubai based hotelier.

Sanjay married Karisma after parting ways from his first wife fashion designer Nandita Mahtani. In 2005, Karisma gave birth to her first child Samaira. Tension in their relationship first came into limelight after the birth of Samaira. Both somehow reconcile and when everything fall in place, she gave birth to their second child Kiaan in March but trouble again shook their relationship.

Deepika to groove on ‘Dum Maro Dum’

Finally, it was decided. Deepika Padukone will step into yesteryears actress Zeenat Aman shoes. She has been chosen to groove on the hit item number of the 70, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ from the blockbuster ‘Hare Krishna Hare Ram’. Despite not being a part of the film, Deepika will shake her leg to the hot number. She has ousted the actress of the film, Bipasha Basu. The song will not be a part of the film but only used as a special music video.    

Rohan Sippy was considering other actresses for the song but when all suggested Deepika Padukone’s name, he went with the popular opinion.

A source said, "Deepika wasn't even in talks with Rohan regarding the Dum Maro Dum item song.

However, when Deepika's name started doing the rounds Rohan got positive response, from trade and people alike."

Deepika has earlier grooved in the item number with Shahrukh Khan in ‘Billu’.

Describing the song, the source said, "Deepika has agreed to be a part of the song, for Rohan. The song will be shot next week and isn't in the Munni or Sheila league, but rather contemporary and extremely urban."

"Yes Deepika will be doing the Dum Maro Dum remix song. The song will have a contemporary feel to it. We are shooting next week. We are very excited to have Deepika on board.

Pritam is remixing the song," Sippy said. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu in the lead role and the film is slated for April 22 release.

Katrina overshadows Akshay

All is not well between the hot pair of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ is about to hit the theatre worldwide and all the attention is on Katrina Kaif but not on Akshay. The lead hero of the film has been sidelined from the promotion. This is all because of Kat’s hot item number, ‘Sheila Ki jawani’. The track is widely promoted and everyone is talking about the song.

Akki is not at all happy about all the hypes surrounding the actress. During the promotional event of ‘Tees Maar Khan’ also Kat hogged all the limelight and everyone from the director of the film to those who have seen Kat grooving to the sexy song singing her praise, complimenting her and saying that it is Katrina Kaif’s best number till date.

Katrina has almost overshadowed Akshay in ‘TMK’.
