Vouge Cover girl Katrina kaif

Source: MID DAY
Subhash Ghai's Yuvvraaj is a colossal flop, and it ain't doing any good for the leading lady Katrina Kaif. This is her first major flop, and it's hard to bite the dust after consecutive hits.

Remember their bit part in Hello? Anyhoo we are not liking her new anorersic look either. She looked pale in Yuuvraaj and is oh-so-thanda on the Vogue cover!" Maybe it's time for Akshay Kumar to save the damsel in distress again?

A bitchy actress called in to say that Katrina Kaif is one blue funk now, "After six hits, she has now a colossal failure with Yuvvraaj. Guess her jodi with Salman just isn't working."

Despite all that the beautiful Katrina graces the cover of Vogue the second time. This time in a purple creation, Kaif oozes confidence. You decide whether she rocks the cover or not!

Abhay deol is excited about his new movie OYe lucky ...

Source: Rediff News
Abhay Deol is serious about taking a sabbatical from Mumbai and continue taking art courses in New York, looking to work with great scriptwriters, and find out how he should handle his movie career.

Right now he is excited about two of his films that are to open soon -- Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Dev D, a modern version of the tragic Devdas legend; he gets the script concept credit for the latter film directed by Anurag Kashyap.

"I am still getting used to New York and navigating through the city," he says. We ask him about the screen story he is writing. "I cannot go into many details just now," he says. "The writer I have in mind to turn the story into a script is very well known. I don't know if he will be convinced to work with me."

"I will then have to decide what I am going to do with my career," Abhay 31, who has had six films including Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Limited released in two years, says. "And that is why I decided to live far from Mumbai and check out my options. If you are in Mumbai and tell people that you want to take a few months off, nobody will want to take you seriously."

"I have many reasons to feel happy about this film," he says. "For one thing, it is made by a very big banner, and it is the first time I am working for a big company."
The new film, Oye Lucky, has plenty of black humour, it is inspired by the true story of a charismatic and gutsy confidence man and thief

"Another reason I took up this film was because I got an opportunity to work with a director (Dibakar Banerjee) who has done something," Abhay continues, referring to the small budget Khosla Ka Ghosla which became a runaway hit.
"I surely want my films play across the board, in the big cities, in smaller towns, in multiplexes and single screen theatres," he says. "I may choose to work with a particular director for a number of reasons, and the promise the script shows. But it surely does not mean that I am thinking only of a particular kind of audience. Oye Lucky, I feel, could be one such film that will engage the audiences across the country."

Filmmaker Jahnu Barua was present at the International Film Festival of India. The director spoke about Har Pall his film with Preity Zinta and Shiney Ahuja in the lead.

CNN-IBN:
How is your film Har Pall coming about?
Jahnu Barua: The film is ready now and will be released in the next two months time. Right now some marketing negotiations are going on.

CNN-IBN: What were your reasons for choosing Shiney Ahuja and Priety Zinta for the lead roles?
Jahnu Barua: Well, simply because they suited the roles. And Preity was my first choice for the role as it is a very difficult role. I always felt Preity was very good and that she was under-utilised.

CNN-IBN: There have been reports that Priety and Shiney don't get along well. How true is this?
Jahnu Barua: No I don't think so and there is nothing like that. There are small professional differences between everyone at first and it's the first time that they are working together.

There is no need to shy in wearing bikini : Sayali Bhagat

Source: Hindustan Times
As another Miss World pageant draws near, we spoke to former Miss India Sayali Bhagat about Indian beauties and why, in the recent past, they have been unable to make a mark at global level pageants. Read on...

You have participated in Miss India. How do you rate Indian beauty queens?
I am sorry to say that the selection of Miss Indias is falling short of great global standards.

Where do you think are the national level pageants lacking?

I strongly think that the removal of question-answer round has affected the prospects of Indian women, as they are particularly good at it. They are rather intelligent. They are perfect combo of beauty with brains.

Now, the selectors should lay more stress on a beautiful body so that those participating at national level beauty pageants should not be shy of wearing bikinis or G-strings. Due to this inhibition, many beautiful girls are not able to exhibit their assets and are deprived of winning laurels nationally and internationally.

Has increase in the number of participants also diminished chances of Miss India winning Miss World or Universe crowns?
This is also true. There has been a big rise in the number of countries participating in international pageants. Sometime back, 90 countries used to participate. But now the figure has almost risen to 170.

Do you prefer advertising to Bollywood?
No, my ultimate goal is Bollywood. Although I am brand ambassador for a number of companies including a diamond company, Bollywood is my final destination.

But you have failed to make a mark in the industry. What do you have to say?
It is true that a number of beauty queens were able to make a mark in Bollywood. But in my case the kind of offers that I got were not very good. I am waiting for the right break. I am sure I would be able to prove myself as an actress.

Apoorva lakhia is back in bussiness with balaji

After the failure of Mission Istaanbul, buzz was that director Apoorva Lakhia was fading out of Bollywood. Says a catty director, "After Mission Istaanbul, he has been dumped by Popcorn Entertainment and Balaji Films.

Much probing and searching later Lakhia is indeed traced to his family in New York. When asked why he had left, Apu says, "I heard the film industry was in a total mess and not much was happening. So I was chilling in the US. Now I'm back in Mumbai. As for my friends dumping me Balaji Telefilms has given me a nice fat signing amount. If they don't want to work with me, no problem!"

Moreover, none of his friends like Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan and Zayed Khan want to work with him."Says a source, "In fact, Lakhia had gone to Bangkok to sign Zayed for his next film. But after Zayed turned him down, Lakhia just left. He feels all his friends have turned their backs on him."

In fact, Apoorva is all set to start a film to be co-produced by HMV-Sa Re Ga Ma and Sohail Maklai. "It's a suspense thriller that I start in March 2009. I'm working on the script right now. People may love me or hate me.

I'll continue to make the films I believe in, no matter what. And for those who are wishing me to go away, let me inform them I'm not going anywhere in a hurry. I've to go home every year since New York is where I live." Lakhia needs to spend a part of each year in NY for visa purposes.
