Neetu Singh Comeback in bollywood with Do Dooni Char

Source: Hindustan Times
At long last, after a break of 26 years, Neetu Singh Kapoor has signed up to act in a movie. And it will feature her as the wife of a mathematics teacher portrayed by real-life husband Rishi Kapoor.

The movie is titled Do Dooni Char. The ultra-selective Neetu has agreed to be in the project after nixing scores of offers down the years. This one’s a feel good movie which will feature her as “a Panju housewife of Delhi Jangpura who’s quite like me, actually,” says the perky actress who was last seen in such movies as Sherni, Ganga Meri Maa, Raj Mahal and Teesri Aankh back in the early 1980s.

She opted for marriage at the age of 21 to her co-star Rishi Kapoor with whom she had entranced the nation in such delightful entertainers as Raffoo Chakkar, Amar Akbar Anthony and Khel Khel Mein. In sum, she had acted in approximately 55 films, including Do Kaliyan as a child artiste.

Faizal had toyed with the idea of casting Juhi Chawla as the teacher’s wife.. but that was only if Neetu had nixed the project. Do Dooni Char will be shot in Delhi from January to February.

A bubbly Neetu Singh says, “Actually I can’t believe that I’ll be back before the camera. I’m looking forward to it. The role’s the thing.. and the script’s sweet, simple..cute. Also life was becoming much too boring, sitting at home. Friends and fitness.. aur kya? Ranbir’s out of the house, working.. when I told him about Do Dooni Char, he couldn’t stop smiling.. yes ma, go for it. And in Delhi, I’ll be with Riddhima. So see, it’s all fallen into place.”

Amitabh wrote on his blog that the morning of Wednesday was very eventful for him.
“As I step out of bed in the early hours of Wednesday, Obama wins, BR Chopra passes away and Aishwarya calls that Abhishek is down with shivering and high fever. All three events come across simultaneously within seconds,” Amitabh wrote on his blog http://www.bigb.bigadda.com/ late Wednesday.

The actor was squashed between repeated attempts to check up on Abhishek's health and between “intrusions of the media seeking reactions to Chopra 'saheb'”.
“I want to get through to Abhishek, media is worried as they have a deadline,” he added.

Amitabh wrote that Abhishek might be suffering in Kerala, “a distant location”, due to “rough conditions, rain and dirt”.

The actor expressed his irritation about the situation when questions about Chopra's death changed to queries over Abhishek's health.

A worried father, Amitabh managed to arrange a conference call between Abhishek and a doctor, who prescribed medicines to Bachchan junior.

Niel Mukesh to visit Prison But not behind the bars

Source: Apun ka Choice
From the comfy environs of New York, Neil is set to enter the dingy and squalid world of Indian prisons. The actor, just back from a long schedule of Yashraj’s film New York , is now all geared up to do some hands-on research for director Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Jail which aims at highlighting the plights of people lodged in prisons.

Even before Neil went to the US for the schedule of ‘New York’, he was given guidance by Madhur Bhandarkar about how to approach his role in ‘Jail’. Bhandarkar had reportedly asked Neil to watch some of the renowned Hollywood films set in prisons, and Neil did that during his stay in the US.

Out of his own volition, actor Neil Nitin Mukesh will go behind bars in some prisons. However, it’s not for any crime, but for research.
Now, back in Mumbai, the actor is set to visit some prisons to see how the world looks from behind bars. The actor will also get a glimpse into the lives of the prisoners. All this will help Neil play his role of a jailbird in Bhandarkar’s film.

Apart from ‘Jail’, Neil is also going to complete his upcoming action thriller Freeze in the coming days.

Why Karan Johar does not speak about bobby role in dostana

Source: OneIndia
Director turned producer Karan Johar seems to love throwing up surprises at the film lovers. He has been talking about his latest film Dostana and the roles played by its star cast like Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. However, he refuses to talk about one actor in the film, and he is Bobby Deol.

Yes, Karan grilled Priyanka, John and Abhishek about their roles in Dostana in an interview but refused to open his mouth on Bobby's role. He said that the film lovers should watch the film to know his role.

Meanwhile, director Tarun Mansukhani has spilled the beans on Bobby's character. He revealed that he plays the role of a fashion magazine editor and so wears suits most of the time. He went a step farther by comparing Bobby to James Bond. Why karan does not speak on bobby deol role, may be bobby have very short appearance .

Neetu Singh is stronger then rishi kapoor

Source: Hindusta Times
Neetu Singh prefers to shun the limelight but this yesteryear actress who lit up the breezy musicals of the 1970s, including many with husband Rishi Kapoor, comes across as a candid and no-nonsense person.

She can just go on and on about her son Ranbir Kapoor and his debut film Saawariya. "Both my husband and I were very nervous. But since I'm the stronger person I kept it inside while he was a nervous wreck. He wouldn't even be here for the release of Saawariya. He went off to Chandigarh for a two-month outdoor shooting," said Neetu.

She dismisses the thought that Ranbir had it easy. "I pampered my daughter Ridhima. Ranbir had it much tougher. I never gave him anything on a platter. Ranbir still gets a fixed pocket money. Even when Ranbir is earning in millions I'd like to continue giving him pocket money."Neetu Singh in a no-holds-barred interview on Ranbir, Rishi, life and being a Kapoor.
You were surprisingly sporting the other day on the music contest Voice Of India.
Yes, when one of the contestants called me on stage I went and enacted the veil-lifting scene from the song Purdah hai purdah. To relive all our songs was such a nostalgic experience. My husband's films had very good music. My god! We got so many SMSs after the show. Since we don't watch much television we were quite nervous about the show. We didn't know what we were in for. But it went off well.

Were you nervous about Ranbir's debut?
You could say that again! Both my husband and I were very nervous. But since I'm the stronger person I kept it all inside while he was a nervous wreck. He wouldn't even be here for the release of Saawariya. He went off to Chandigarh for a two-month outdoor shooting. I felt the same way about Ranbir's debut as I did when my daughter Ridhima got married.

Ranbir seems to be closer to you than to his father.
Isn't that the way it is with most children? Kids are a reflection of their mother. Both my kids are gentle and, in school, they never behaved like star-children. My husband's work was never at home. He never knew about homework, parent-teacher meetings and the kids' daily routines. Ranbir didn't get a chance to be close to his father until he assisted him in directing 'Aa Ab Laut Chalen'. Now that my husband has been home more often Ranbir has become close to him too. But I think he's much closer to me.

After being pampered at home, Ranbir had to work really hard on his first film.
I never pampered Ranbir! I pampered my daughter Ridhima because I always knew she was going to get married and go away, so I gave her everything. But Ranbir had it much tougher. I never gave him anything on a platter. Ranbir still gets a fixed pocket money. I like the ritual. Even when Ranbir is earning in millions I'd like to continue giving him pocket money. I've given him a good foundation in life. I've taught him to be nice to people, no matter what.

As an actress and a mother do you feel Ranbir will match up to the expectations?
How can I say? But even if he wasn't my son I'd go to the first show and whistle for him. He has his own unique style. People say he has a cute face and an athletic body. And that he's looking different from the others. He isn't a chaap (image) of his dad either. It's impossible to imitate my husband. Johnny Lever once told Rishi that he's the only actor he can't ape because he is such a natural. I have done 11 films with him. I should know."Even if he wasn't my son I'd go to the first show and whistle for him. He has his own unique style."

Can you recognise any pair today as Rishi and Neetu?
Ranbir and Sonam. I think Sonam is a wonderful girl. Kitni pyari bachchi hai. She's a very warm girl. I've known her mother Sunita for years. We hang out in the same group. My mother-in-law and Sonam's grandmother interact all the time.

What do you feel about 'Karz' being remade?
I don't think you can replicate any of those classics. People are doing it. And I wish them all the best.

Did Ranbir come and tell you he wanted to be an actor?
He always wanted to be an actor. Even as a kid, he'd recite Amitabh Bachchan's dialogues. He'd always be dancing at the birthday parties. Even now when he cries or gets angry he looks for a mirror to see how he's looking. The wonderful thing about Ranbir is that he's a very calm person because he's gone after me. In his 24 years I've never seen him lose his cool. He has never gone against me.
He can never hurt me. If I get angry, Ranbir looks at me and asks if I had a bad day. And I melt. His way of dealing with problems is so calming. Even at school, Ranbir sorted out all the fights among his friends. He's also very street smart. You can't fool Ranbir. He's far more worldly-wise than I am. He thinks and then acts and talks.

Preity Like to more role linke Heroz and The Last Lear

Preity Zinta is proud of her work in the last year in such movies as The Last Lear, Heaven on Earth and Heroes. Heaven on Earth in particular has done well at the Toronto, London and Chicago International Film Festivals where Preity won the Best Actress Award, the Silver Hugo. However, she says she wants to break away now from doing sad roles for a while.

"I've been so sad in my last couple of films," she says. "Maybe I ought to do a romance, because in those roles I look better and feel - ah, so happy! I could even do an action film, because that's the only genre left that I've not ventured into."

Her penetrating role as a widowed mother in Heroes has also brought her a great deal of attention. She is particularly pleased as many of her friends were urging her to turn down the difficult role. How did she feel about that?

"Well, it was quite disappointing that many of my close friends kept discouraging me from playing this role," she says. "But, it was falling in love with my characterization once the director had narrated it to me that changed my mind. The character of the Punjabi girl reminded me of my mother and many complimented me for it, especially in my wedding clothes."

Preity has a degree in criminal psychology and is co-owner of the Punjabi Kings cricket team. She won a National Bravery Award for testifying against the Indian mafia in the Bharat Shah case in 2003. She is a real-life hero. She is actively involved in a number of social projects such as AIDS awareness and female infanticide and her next big role will be in Har Pal early next year.

Manish Malhotra design Bikini for Priyanka and shorts for John in Dostana

Source: RediffNeews
Karan Johar's films have always been stylish, thanks to the ace designers he ropes in. And Dostana is no different. In fact, truth be told, the producer has outdone himself. The cast comprising of Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan never looked so eye-poppingly good as they did in the promos doing the rounds.

And it is all thanks to designers Akki Narula and Manish Malhotra.

As the movie is based in Miami, a place full sun, surf and sand, we decided to go with the holiday look. Priyanka's character is a fashion editor, hence her clothes need to be stylish and chic.
When it comes to colours, Priyanka always prefers grey, black and white. But for Dostana, we decided to experiment with bright solid colours like the ones in the citrus family.

Keeping her chic look in mind, we decided to tone down the accessories. You will notice that none of her dresses have any embroidery or designs either. All her outfits are mainly in satin, chiffon and georgette.

As the Desi Girl song is a formal occasion, I decided to go with a sari. I gave it a western touch by making her wear a long silver sequined skirt. The bikini-type blouse too gave the look a western touch. Here too she is not wearing accessories.

In the Maa Da Ladla song, I have designed Abhishek and John's outfits too. Karan had seen my Couture Fashion Week collections which consisted of sherwanis. So I gave the boys golden lined sherwanis. They are very funky though traditional.

Throughout the film you will find Priyanka in shorts, formal jackets and bikini tops. I personally like people wearing casual blue jeans with a formal jacket. So I gave her a pair of satin golden shorts with formal jacket to go with it. She wears them to work. The best outfit of Priyanka would have to be her tan denim dress.

Talking specifically about her swimsuit, I knew I wanted metallic colours either in silver or golden. I picked up the swimsuits from Miami.

When Diana Hayden entered the house, there was a feeling that she would be aloof and snobbish, But now see is out of scope. But Diana like the girl next door cooked, cleaned, washed, learnt Hindi and had a promising friendship with Ashutosh Kaushik.

Owing to that there were loads of teasing and tension in the house. This strong mutual affection also scared the rest and they ended up alienating and nominating the two.

The warmth that existed between Ashutosh and Diana made great viewing.Diana maintains that it was just a friendship. She's reportedly said, "Ashu's a very good friend and an honest guy. It was a case of two different people sticking together, but we are just friends."

I am happy that I am out and Ashu has survived, because I can earn Rs. one crore (prize money) easily, but he can't do it right away. So, it's important for him to win as he has to marry his sister off and establish himself. Later, he will also be able to earn big money."

She dismissed the love seen in Ashutosh's eyes by saying, "Ashu is a big nautanki. But, it was sad that he had been completely cut off by others, and I preferred to stay with him most of the time because I can't ditch a friend.

She also made it a point to complain, "For the past two weeks, things have really got very dirty, and they are getting nastier by the day. Rahul and Monica are playing the dirtiest game. Monica lies through her teeth and Rahul isolates people by accusing them of all kinds of things."

Rajshri productions is back with Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi

Source: ZOOM TV
Apart from EMI and Quantum of Solace, this Friday saw one more release by Rajshri Productions- Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi. Being a Rajshri creation, it’s a complete family film with romance and drama. Interestingly, the star cast of the film is very unusual with Sonu Sood and ‘Khallas’ girl- Eesha Koppikar in the lead roles.

Talking about the story of the film, it is about two struggler singers- Sonu and Eesha that fall in love. Situations detach them, but they meet again after 12 long years and take ahead their love story.

Interestingly, like other Rajshri films- this film isn’t directed by Sooraj Barjatya but, by a TV serial director-Kaushik Ghatak. Though a Rajshri banner, the star cast of the film looks weak and so does the music by Ravindra Jain. However, being a family film- we could expect good responses by families.
