SRK to sing a song again

Source: FilmNirvana
Aditya Chopra gifted the first promo of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi to Shah Rukh on his 43rd birthday. Needless to say, it was extremely special to SRK to receive it from Aditya with whom he has been working with for almost after eight years.

This is the first time YRF has released a song promo before the music release. Apart from that the promos have a song which has been sung by SRK alongwith singer Sukhwinder Singh and newcomer Anushka Sharma.

It is believed that director Aditya Chopra thought of it, while SRK who was quite open to lending his voice, enjoyed it too. He recorded the song Haule haule se dawa lagti hai along with singer Sukhwinder Singh and Anushka.

This song features Shah Rukh Khan in his moustache look. It can be recalled that before RNBDJ, SRK sung Apun Bola Tu Meri Laila from Josh. RBNBDJ is slated to release on 12th December.

Laila Feroz Khanpainted Allah in the Islamic calligraphy

Source: ZOOM

She hails from a filmi family, but despite being Feroz Khan’s daughter and Fardeen’s sister, Laila Khan decided to take the path less travelled; she preferred to be behind the canvas rather than face the camera, and paint instead of sing and dance around trees.

After carving a niche for herself within her Bollywood-centric family and Mumbai’s colourful art scene, she’s now ready to experiment. On the 29th, Laila will be exhibiting a special work in Dubai, which will be auctioned for the Khushi and Al-Noor charities. Done in collaboration with prominent Dubai businessman Ismail Mohammed, Laila, known to be a non-conformist as far as her artworks are concerned, has experimented with Islamic calligraphy.

“I have painted Allah in the Islamic calligraphy style,” she states, further elaborating, “Islamic calligraphy or Arabic calligraphy is an artistic form of writing. Since representation of figures and images is forbidden by the religion, this artistic form of writing was invented. It has fascinated me since childhood and I have employed the Thuluth calligraphic style, one of the many ornamental styles.” Thuluth is based on the principle that one-third of each letter slides downward, thus giving it a strong curve-like aspect.

Are there any rules for this self-taught artist? “I don’t want to be curbed. An art school can’t teach you what to see and feel, it can only brush up what’s there,” she believes. Which is why she opts to leave her paintings untitled — “Every piece of art contains something special for everyone, it’s important to experience the uniqueness of art. Titles limit perceptions.”

Another self-taught artist that is attracting attention these days is Salman Khan. Has she seen his works? “Yes, he’s been painting for a while now and seems quite passionate about it.” But can one’s artistic side suddenly come into being? “Anything creative can never be forced, it has to come naturally. There has to be a natural progression. You can’t just get up one day, paint for six months and then have a show! I painted for 10 years before making a public statement with my first solo show,” says Laila.

Rahul, Monica playing dirty: Diana Hayden

Source: NowRunning
Former beauty queen Diana Hayden, who was voted out of TV reality show "Bigg Boss" Friday, has blamed co-participants Rahul Mahajan and Monica Bedi for making the game "very dirty".

"The dirtiest game is being played by Rahul and Monica. They have no values or scruples," Diana, who managed to stay in the "Bigg Boss" house for eight weeks, told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

"I had the most amazing six weeks on the show, but the last two weeks got very dirty. Rahul never liked me because he knew that I could see what he was doing. They (Monica and Rahul) believed in doing everything for the camera. Fine you want to win, but its wrong to encourage fights, lie, and forget your values to win a game," she added.

"I agreed to the show because I wanted to be a part of a competition. Also, I travel a lot, so I thought it'll be a welcome break for me. Just relaxing and eating good Indian food," she said.

Although Diana was cordial with all other inmates of the show, her proximity with reality show MTV "Roadies 5.0" winner Ashutosh Kaushik, raised a few eyebrows in the public as well as within the "Bigg Boss" house.

"I gelled well with Ashutosh because he is a very simple and honest person. We are just very good friends. He is a charming person, very sweet and childish. He is funny and silly and that's why he used to do all those antics, by which people thought that he has feelings for me," she said.

Rubbishing rumours of a romantic liaison with Ashutosh, Diana said: "I'm not in a relationship and don't want to be in one at the moment. I'm sure its only friendship even from his side."

Bipasha Sudden Exit " Lamhha" set unit shocked

Source: NowRunning
"Chaotic" is how producer Bunty Walia describes the situation at Kashmir after Bipasha Basu's abrupt departure, just hours before Sanjay Dutt landed in Srinagar to start shooting with her for "Lamhaa".

"We can't understand what happened, and why she left suddenly when Friday onwards things were going smoothly. I also can't understand how she managed to get back to the hotel from the location in Anantnag, pack all her luggage and leave in 15 minutes. But we're sure she had her reasons. And we're fully convinced she'll join us in Manali where we're now going to shoot the action scenes," Walia told IANS.

On Wednesday, a mob surrounded the unit filming a scene with Bipasha, who plays the role of a Kashmiri girl. They wanted the film's shooting to be stopped. Though the situation improved Friday, Bipasha left Saturday. The cast and crew of "Lamhaa" seemed crushed by her departure.

"They don't know what hit them. The morale in our unit is pretty low. Sanjay Dutt, who landed here to start work immediately, is suddenly at a loose end. He's taking an impromptu holiday right now," Wallia said.

The film is being directed by Rahul Dholakia and the unit now plans to move to Manali from Srinagar where the topography is similar.

"We're going to shoot only the action scenes there," said Dholakia. "We don't know what happened with Bipasha because she has told us nothing. She seemed fine in the morning. Suddenly we heard she had left. I suppose a film on the making of 'Lamhaa' would be as interesting as the film itself, though we've no footage of Bipasha leaving Srinagar."

The unit plans to return to Srinagar Jan 4-11 to shoot vital scenes after the main shooting happens on a set in Film City in Mumbai.

Mugdha Godse will prefer a sexless marriage than an infidel husband

Source: SantaBanta
Mugdha Godse speaks in real life with a Marathi accent. She had to completely change her tone accent and diction to sound like the high-flying model in Fashion.

Speaking in her forthright way Mugdha says, "I didn't get it right initially. My voice was sounding nasal and Madhur thought of dubbing it. But I fought back. To me the voice is the mirror of the soul."

Mugdha worked really hard on her voice. "I knew my speaking voice wouldn't work for my character. I was very particular.

I sat with others from the cast who were far more experienced. And then I dubbed. I'd never ever let someone else dub for me. I sat for Priyanka, Kangana and Kitu Gidwani's dubbing. Dubbing taught me how to act through my voice.

Fashion showed me, you can't act with your body. You've to act with your voice and mind. Initially I'd jump around on the sets making my presence felt. Finally it has come out right."

Interestingly Mugdha has gone through some of her character's experiences in the fashion world.

"Some people say Madhur has shown only the dark side of the modellling world. Not true. I think there's a lot of positivity in the way Priyanka bounces back into the limelight. And my character is a very positive one.Of course in any glamour industry there's fierce competition, you end up in the wrong hands."

Mugdha admits she was approached by the wrong people to take short cuts. "But I didn't give in. That's why it took me three years to establish myself as a model. Many others become successful within a year.

I come from a very middleclass family in Pune. For me and my parents Mumbai was a culture shock. I was very naïve at the start. The Gladrags contest did the trick for me."

"When I came into modeling I had no clue about how to walk and talk, how to do my networking and get noticed. My experiences on the way up kept me grounded. Some girls do get swayed when they get so much at such a young age. You get everything so easily."

"I guess only Madhur Bhandarkar knew my true worth. When he offered me the role I didn't even know I could act. I didn't want to take the route taken by all models. I didn't want to make a fool of myself.I surrendered completely to Madhur Sir's direction."

Mugdha is in no hurry to sign new films. "I'm not very sure whether I'm required to be filmy on not. I got film offers earlier. But nothing that shook me like Fashion. Until I feel it's right I won't do it.

I did a jewellery campaign with Madhur Sir. The minute he told me my role I was in. I mean, imagine a model getting a modeling role and such a performing part. I managed those difficult scenes because I didn't know they were difficult."

She's happy she wasn't overshadowed in Fashion by Priyanka or Kangana. "I hope I'm not flattering myself. But I held my own. I was scared to be with these actors. But my meditation helped me to stay calm and focused.

The ramp scenes I could do with my eyes closed. But the acting scenes!.....Many scenes connected deeply with me."

Mugdha plays a woman who marries a gay designer. "In real life I'd never make such a sacrifice. Of course such things do happen. And I think it's fine. Better an honest marriage without sex than spouses having secret extra-marital affairs. As long as a couple is happy together, how does it matter?'

Her friends from the modeling world saw Fashion and reacted positively. Carol Gracias saw her wardrobe malfunction scene and took it in her stride.

"She is a sporting girl. And Madhur Sir has handled that scene so sensitively. My model friends were very quiet during such scenes. We didn't discuss it after the film. It would be like probing old wounds."

Mugdha has drastically reduced her modeling assignments. "In any case actors are doing a lot of modeling and many of them behave like models on screen."

I won't allow allow anyone tomy spoilt: Sushmita sen

Source: SantaBanta
Sushmita won't allow anyone to spoil her fun. "What do I do with flase stories about me? Let them spoil my day ? No way! I leave the rumour mongers to deal with their own conscience."

Ever since a report appeared in the press that Sushmita ditched a shoot for a shampoo she has been doubling up with laughter.

"That's how well the media knows me, " says Sushmita with slight sarcasm. "I'd never default on my work. And party while work waited?…This is toooooo outrageous to be funny."

The fact is Sushmita no longer endorses the product she's supposed to have ditched. "I had no contractual obligation. My contract with the product ended in July. In fact the last shooting for the product took place in July."

There's no hint of exasperation in Sushmita's voice. "I couldn't allow my life to be spoilt by such absurd reports. First they say I couldn't attend the shoot for the ad because I was partying the previous night.

Then they say the people who were supposed to shoot the ad kept trying to reach me. Anyone who knows me would know I never switch off my cell. And why would they try to get in touch with me? Wouldn't getting to me via my manager be much easier?

The best part is I don't endorse that product any longer. My deal with them ended long back. So which Sushmita Sen were they supposed to be waiting for? But then this is small compared with marriage plans that are made for me every month."

Abhishek, Himesh and Mallika coming together

Source: SantaBanta
In journalism, there has always been a tension of getting it first. But what matters is getting it right. It's been ten days since we first brought to you the breaking news of the starcast in RGV's Rann, and just as RGV always plans to release one film every month, we have decided to bring to you one news every week from his latest offering.

RGV already has a mega line up of stars for this film which includes Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Riteish Deshmukh, Mohnish Behl, Manisha Koirala, Rajat Kapoor, Sudeep, Gul Panag, Raima Sen and Rajpal Yadav.

Now, some of the media buffs have already started speculating that Rann has got another actor in the long line-up of the film. Don't be surprised! Be cautious! Coz it's none other than Himesh Reshammiya.

Yes, a little birdie tells us that Himesh had gone to meet RGV at his Oshiwara office after hearing that Rann is his next biggie in the making. So what does RGV tell him?

Well, again the grapevine hears that the director par excellence told him 'No'. But on the flip side RGV was very impressed with Himesh's enthusiasm and so is now trying to work things out if there is any role for the actor which can be sketched out in his film.

We also hear the gossip mills talking about Rann's hidden treasure. It comes in the form of Mallika Sherawat. However, what role she has got to play in the film is something which only RGV will be able to tell us.

In the meantime, another Bollywood biggie is also said to have been roped in for this mammoth project. Like father, like son, Abhishek Bachchan. For all you Sarkar and Sarkar Raj fans, you need not worry now.

Both the Bachchans are back but only time will tell whether they both share the limelight again in what is said to be Ram Gopal Varma's biggest directorial film - Rann.

Soon We will see Shilpa shetty in Chinese film

Source: RadioSargam
After mallika sherawat now Shilpa Shetty signs up for a Chinese film, will start shooting soon

She may be having trouble making her mark in Bollywood, and Hollywood offers are out of the question, but that isn’t stopping sexy figure Shilpa Shetty from signing up for alternative roles.

The latest news about the Celebrity Big Brother winner is that she will be seen in a Chinese film opposite actor Xia Yu. The film, titled Desire, will be made in English but will be dubbed in Chinese. Shooting for it will commence in December and an April 2009 release date is planned.

Says Shilpa about this role, "I can’t talk much about this film. But yes, I’ll start shooting from December. I’m planning to produce another film first since the one I wanted to do, is not working out. It’s too expensive. And I don’t want to make small films.”

But what about other mainstream Bollywood films. To this she says, “Yes, I’m on the verge of signing some very good films. Starting with Desire, I’m focussing on my acting
more than I’ve been able to in the last couple of years."

Amir Khan Treat his new girl Asin worng way

Source: RedioSargam
Aamir Khan rubs his new girl Asin up the wrong way.Aamir Khan’s new lead actress
Asin is not happy with the Ghajini hero’s strict perfectionist regime.

A source close to Aamir said, “Although Asin is extremely fond of Aamir, she had an argument with him recently. It all stemmed from the fact that Aamir has stopped her from interacting with the media, making public appearances or attending any events. Asin has been getting a lot of attention as she has a meaty role in Ghajini and she has also signed the ambitious London Dreams opposite Salman Khan. But Asin isn’t happy even though her career is going great guns as she had to turn down all offers of interacting with the media, a necessary step in self-promotion for any newcomer.”

“Although she is part of some big banners now, very little is known about her. To make matters worse, the Ghajini team has also told Asin that she shouldn’t give her portfolio pictures to anyone. All this is making her feel restricted,” added the source.

“It has been almost two years that she has been under the contract with Aamir as Ghajini had to be postponed due to Aamir’s injury and several other problems,” said the source.

“Needless to say, Aamir was very surprised when she had a few word with him over this restriction,” added the source. When contacted, Asin said, “I cannot speak about this as we have been told not to speak to the press.”

Asin, who is a big star down south, is making her big break into Bollywood with Ghajini. The film itself is planned for Christmas Day release worldwide and sees Aamir Khan in a hunky role of an avenger out for blood.

People were really disappointing for Heroes : Preity Zinta

Source: IndiaGlitz
Not many actresses stride picking such roles. Maybe, few consider it to be kind-off career-spoilers. Actress Preity Zinta has been flooded with critical acclaims and rave reviews for her role in Heroes. Alas! It's frizzing heeding to fact that many discouraged Preity while she opted for this unique role. Yeah, who would accept to don the role of widowed mother of a growing child when their glam-based shows are swaying at box-offices? Hats off to this missy and she deserves great appreciations.

Speaking about this, Preity Zinta says, "Well, it was quite disappointing as many of my close friends kept discouraging me on playing this role. But, it was falling in love with my characterization once director narrated my depiction in reels. The character of Punjabi girl reminded me off my mother and many complimented me for it, especially in my wedding clothes".

She continued totting up, "As a distressed Punjabi women losing her husband in war, I could feel the real life pains of many women who had lost their spouse on battlefront. Of course, being raised from an army background urged me to perform the role".

Madhur Bhandarkar Say I am a filmmaker, not politician

Source: IndiaGlitz

"I am not here to provide solutions to crisis. I am making films on such issues and that's it" uttered Madhur Bhandarkar. 'Fashion Arbiter' is what Bollywood calls him. Obviously, this auteur is worthy getting ennobled of such title. He isn't concerned on conveying messages about the issues he deals with. Rather he gets each and every audience adhered to characterizations he exhibits in the frame.

Ask him whether he has ideas on making film on reality-based issue, Marathi-Hindi conflict in Maharashtra? "Spare me; I don't have any ideas about making flicks on politics. All my focus is just on my next venture 'Jail'. Script works are on and probably I may gear up with some other projects in the interim. Well, it happens just at a spark".

What's so interesting about his female protagonists ruling shows? He says, "Maybe, it's my style of spelling my thoughts and there isn't anything else. Perhaps, I feel there has been importance drawn on male protagonists too. There was a male journalist in Page 3 and Fashion had a male model and designers".

Moreover, he is keen on not remaking any Hollywood or South Indian flicks. "I would like to present my films on commercial grounds for certain extent. But I'm not a commercial filmmaker churning out films merely leaping with profits in my pockets. Dealing with realistic vistas, I dreamt of taking audiences far behind their knowledge about everything, from lives of Page 3 celebrities-to-a beggar at traffic signal…"

He intended his film Fashion to be as realistic as he appears himself pulling his own legs. "And that wasn't for my popularity. If I meant so, my on-screen portions would have been more" tots up our director entitling himself as contemporary filmmaker.

"Midnight's Children" may hit big screen by Deepa Mehata

Source: IndiaGlitz

Salman Rushdie's epic novel "Midnight's Children" came out in 1981 and catapulted the author as one of the most brilliant writers of Indian origin by winning the coveted Booker Prize in 1981.

This book which is also regarded by many as one of the greatest books of the last 100 years by winning global recognition had a strong influence on many Indian writers who rose to fame in the 80's and 90's.

This larger than life literary masterpiece of Mr.Rushdie is now going to come alive on the big screen of Bollywood.

Internationally acclaimed film maker Deepa Mehta and Salman Rushdie have agreed to join hands for bringing the story into celluloid.

The screenplay is to be jointly created by the film maker and the writer for the screen adaptation which will come to the theaters in 2010.

Although many film makers have previously approached Salman Rushdie for making a film based on the famous novel, nothing worked out due to several reasons.

Anyone who has read "Midnight's Children" will agree to a simple fact that only a seasoned and extremely talented film maker will be able to do justice to the slightly complicated story.

Enough and more patience is needed for making the experience of reading "Midnight's Children" a pleasurable one and when the novel stands on top of the list of the one of the most famous novels in the world, the person who wishes to give it the texture of cinema needs to be extra confident.

But from the words of Mr.Rushdie, it seems that he is hundred percent confident on Deepa Mehta's cinematic sense.

He said that Deepa's passion for the book and her immense talent as a film maker means that the novel has been placed in the best possible hands.

The book tells the story of Saleen Sinai born during the exact time when Indian flag replaced the British flag after the country got its freedom from the foreign rulers on August 15, 1947.

Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das have been already finalized to give life to key roles in the movie.

"Midnight's Children" has also the unique accomplishment to have won the best of the Bookers during the year 1993 and 2008.

Bollywood is flooded with fake MMS clips of Actress

Source: http://www.digi-help.com

Fake MMS clips flood India, as Bollywood actors such as Kareena Kapoor, Kollywood heroines such as Trisha Krishnan and sportstars such as Sania Mirza become the latest victims. Those are the fakes. But there are more celebrity, voyeur and nondescript MMS clips travelling the wireless spectrum.
The MMS sleaze is here to stay. Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor seems to be the favourite star in the shady alleys of MMS sleaze, with a video clip of her undressing in an unidentified location swarming the mobile phones in the country with stunning speed.

The sequences of the MMS clip is mundane: Kareena (or her lookalike) enters the room, closes the door and undresses. The twist is that the once bitten Bollywood beauty suddenly realises some thing fishy and turns her back. In the portals of knowledgable experts in such matters, the theory is that while the womain the MMS is Kareena Kapoor herself, what you see when the Bollywood actress undresses has just been shoddily photoshopped on to the actual video.

Curtains down on the show, but the issue simmers across Bollywood, where sleaze, underworld links and outlandish behaviour are as common as the sets of third rate flicks.

Of course, the sleazy MMS clips do not target Bollywood stars alone - there is a so-called Sania Mirza MMS clip in circulation, which so apparently is fake, featuring some two-bit foreign actress.

Privacy destroyed
One can ignore the fake MMS clips as a necessary evil all celebrities have to face. But voyeurism - now that's a different story, much more evil and dangerous than an easily verifiable morphed video clip. Can a strict security blanket be thrown over the stars as the race against time from sets to stages to complete their scheduled engagements, which, more often are more than what is physically possible. The options before the industry aren’t encouraging, but not impossible. Just how does an actor or actress ensure that private moments stay private? Carry around electronic big tracking devices into the toilet?

Actors can ensure a privacy clause in their contracts, which puts the onus of any such unscheduled clippings arising during the filming schedule squarely on the production house. Now, not many producers will entertain such a clause as the stars cannot be confined to the sets or location alone while during the contract period. They move around in various places unconnected to the filming schedule and a prank could happen in most of these places. May be sets alone would do. At least.

Then movie contracts themselves are dicey given that in most cases the dates alone are assigned to the producers. Not even the “oneline” could have been decided when the dates are given. In many cases the acting contract itself is a “verbal” and could just originate from an unnumbered call from abroad, as it has been alleged many times. Not much imagination is needed to apprehend how underworld Don Abu Salem’s moll Monica Bedi landed some Bollywood roles for those who have seen Marlon Brando’s Godfather.

And what about stage shows abroad? And how many of the stage shows abroad are stage shows alone? There seems to be a lot of muck involved in all these and Bollywood will have to hesitantly accept that sleaze is not confined to MMS clips originating from closed doors of changing rooms where the unsuspecting stars are caught in-camera. Sleaze permeates the system which churns out muck in the name of films and camouflages the dubious mysteries which propel the industry in the name of film making.

Bollywood capitalising on the MMS mania

And remember, Bollywood itself may be the inspiration for many such clips. A film was promoted recenmtly by circulating a steamy MMS clip of Koena Mitra and Fardeen Khan. All this suggests that clips, no matter their authenticity, will continue to emerge from time to time.

...and MMS clips past

The Kareena MMS clip is the second one involving the actress, the first one being her smooch clip with boyfriend Shahid Kapoor in a posh Mumbai club. This, after being hotly denounced by the couple, was forgotten pretty quickly. A MMS clip purportedly showing actors Ashmit Patel and Roya Sen was hotly debated, but was quietly ignored by both the concerned parties, giving rise to massive speculation on the internet without any conclusive decision one way or the other. Down south, actress Tamil star Trisha was supposedly filmed in the bathroom of a luxury hotel and the MMS clip made way to mobiles as well as the internet. This was one of the first celebrity MMS clips that appeared in India, and is generally believed to be of someone else barely similar to Trisha.

For the love of MMS
The MMS clip craze that has spread in India has not ended, is not going to end, and is gioving sleepless nights not only to Bollywood starlets but even to ordinary people. A spycam is extremely easy to install, as an old man who rented out his house to some working girls proved. In the recent rape case of a South African NRI model in Mumbai who was allegedly drugged and kidnapped, the victim has told the police that she believes the incident was filmed. More MMS clips were discovered on their mobile phones. Good-looking streetwalkers now offer MMS packages for filming their services, and small mobile phone shops offer such MMS clips on CDs and memory cards to their teenaged customers. Thanks to the worldwide pattern of men wanting to photograph women, and women wanting to be photographed by men and the ease of use of creating an MMS clip, a barrage of MMS clips are hitting India. And probably, there is no way out. After all, wasn't it Paris Hilton who said that who has not ever videographed themselves in a sexual act at some stage in their life. Who indeed.
